Thank you for visiting La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant. We have a reputation for some of the friendliest service in town. Family owned and operated by the Herrera family since 1999. It started as a quiet and quaint restaurant hidden on the east side of Modesto.
What once was known only by word of mouth, the popularity and satisfaction by our loyal customers has given us the wonderful opportunity to spread our love for delicious Mexican food into three different locations. Each location has its own personality, ready to serve you, your friends, and family with nothing but high-quality ingredients, delicious drinks and familiar faces.

The salsa taste like ketchup. The food is awful, please don't waste your money. The decor is tacky. The only reason they get 3 stars instead if one, was because the server (males in 30s?) was excellent. Kept all our drinks full (party of 12) and was prompt about clearing dishes! He deserves 5 stars.

The food is great, the salsa addicting. You can just do appetizers and have a great meal. But sometimes the staff is very forgetful. We were at the Riverbank store and ask one worker for more salsa. He said sure let me get that for you. 5 minutes go by and that worker comes by with a little broom and dust pan and starts sweeping as if we never asked. We then asked another guy. He said the same thing and about five minutes later we see that guy a couple tables down wiping it off. With no clue we asked. The waitress came by once, not to ask how it was, but if we wanted anything g else. We said salsa

Eh....
Walking in it's set up like a cafeteria style cafe. NO MARGARITAS AS ADVERTISED. They are wine margaritas (yuck) but they offer a decent selection of bottled beer.
Food was okay, but overpriced. Should be paying $3-$5 less per plate for the quality.
Would not go again because it was less quality food, drink, and atmosphere than expected after viewing their webpages.
On a side note, the service was excellent and the staff was super friendly.
