Stayed here on a non holiday Thursday and showed up 20 mins after check in time - room wasn't ready. Not the end of the world, except that the host told us it was because we were early. Confronted him about it and he admitted we weren't early, but no apology. Room was small and old. They charge you a "resort fee" that's not disclosed for towels and bikes we never used. Called for our car at check out and nobody told the valet. So we waited 20 more mins after we told them we were waiting for 10 mins. Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel, other than the location.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Georgian Hotel. We had a Christmas work party dinner that we attended while staying in one of the corner suites. It was an amazing experience. Not only was the room spacious, had an incredible views of the islands and Malibu. The accommodations were reasonably priced for the experience. The combination of the friendly and helpful staff and the attention to detail really impressed me. Every detail was thoughtful from the personalized thank you card waiting in the room to the bottle of wine. Thank you, we will be coming back!

Service was fast, accurate, and the server was professional and friendly. A nice place for a couples date, or sit and people watch on the patio.

Great art deco style, almost-boutique hotel in a fantastic location, and good prices relative to almost all other hotels in downtown Santa Monica. Nice friendly staff, and the veranda restaurant is a great spot for breakfast.
Has 2 negatives - the walls are thin so you hear a lot from your neighbors; parking and getting bags to/from your car is a pain, you are kinda stuck always using the valet. They are all super accommodating but still, a bit of a drag. We've stayed multiple times and would again, highly recommend.

Fabulous meal here! We have a group traveling from the east coast for work and came here to eat. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We got to sit out on the patio and watch the gorgeous golden Pacific sunset over the ocean. Everyone in my group ordered something different from salad to steak to pasta. We shared many apps, including a few shown in my pics. Good menu selection. Food was fresh and tasted very good! Would love to return to Santa Monica but also this restaurant.

Loveliest hotel around Santa Monica. One of the first hotels to be established. Very quick and efficient service. They have a lovely restaurant as well called The Veranda. My husband and I stayed on the 8th floor. Very lovely view and not too expensive at all!! I love the art deco style of this hotel. A must go to if you're visiting Santa Monica :)

My Wife and I Celebrate our 'Honeymoon" every year on Halloween. We choose iconic Hotels in Los Angeles and get along with everyone we encounter and are asked every year to come back! We carefully chose the Georgian 3 years ago because of the History and we enjoy the beach. In September of 2021 I called and made a reservation and got along swimmingly with the call center, so you can imagine the Shock we went through when I got a call this Monday by Alex the GM to say the Georgian could Not honer our reservation and if there was any question to call him at the Hotel. Nice cozy place with not so good hospitality. Malibu Triathlon people stay elsewhere. Everything was booked in Malibu, Agora and Calabasas so some of us flocked to Santa Monica. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the first night (up at 4 am to do the Triathlon). The night after the Tri we had dinner under the yellow umbrellas and out filets came medium-well and not medium-rare and we could not sleep that night. A party at room 709 next door to us could not be stopped by staff. The thing kept raging until 2:30 am. No offer to move rooms... the front desk guy got actually upset at me for calling 3

Get the upgrade for the ocean view room, otherwise the room is really nothing special. Dated and small, but there is charm. Lovely terrace in front of the hotel. Very close proximity to all things SM and Venice Beach. Would recommend but only for the ocean view room.

This is in a good spot. The hotel is nice but for the price I expected more luxury. The kids had a blast with the idea that the hotel is haunted 12/7/3 kids age.The whole family did hear something in the bathroom fall in the morning around 430am i thought maybe I placed something on the edge an did not check the restroom till 8AM and there was nothing out of place or on the floor??? But not scary. The room was big and clean had a fridge and coffee machine but no microwave. The side view to the beach was beautiful in the morning. The parking in valet parking in front was hard and wired since the

I booked a reservation and shame on me for not canceling when I decided I was not going; I take fault for that. The problem is the hotel stated that I did check in and charged my card for the full amount. I asked them to please provide a copy of the ID used to check in or the name on the credit card used because most hotels make you provide a card for incidentals. I was told to call my bank if I have an issue. Do not stay here. Shady tactics for a 4-star hotel!

We have stayed here several times and enjoy this historic hotel. The rooms are sizable, the bathroom is small, there is plenty of hot water in the shower, and the A/C works great. We love dining on the veranda. It is so relaxing! There are tables closer to the street, but we prefer to people watch from the original veranda.

For an enjoyable meal, try the British restaurant, Ye Olde King's Head, which is around the corner.

Staff is 5 star. Hotel is easily recognized from a distance and has wonderful early 20th century charm. Ocean view rooms recommended if you're planning on spending time at the hotel. Otherwise it's a fantastic home-base for exploring the luxuries of Santa Monica. Easy highway access to the rest of LA if you're going to go shopping elsewhere, but the best shopping is a 5 minute walk from the from the Veranda

I am a big fan of classic hotels and I was expecting that when staying at the Georgian. However, a fresh coat of paint cannot cover up the lack of standard accommodations missing from this place. There are no electrical outlets near the beds and the A/C just says “cooler and warmer” but seems to only be warm. The TVs are from 2004 and the bathrooms remind me of a nice college suite. The views from the rooms are very nice but would expect more from a place that bills itself as it does. Pay the extra 50 bucks and stay somewhere else on the street.

We have been staying at this hotel which is absolutely adorable. we decided to get breakfast here and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! BUT we paid $7 for a small glass of orange juice and $13 for a mimosa! our bill ended up being over $60 for the food you see and our orange juice plus mimosas. the food was good but i think the prices are outrageous for what we got.

The Queen Ocean View Suite on the 3rd floor was beautiful and had an amazing ocean view! The staff was so friendly and nice! I loved my experience at this hotel and it is right across the street from the Ocean and the Santa Monica Pier. It's an older, smaller hotel so only two elevators. The restaurant breakfast was very tasty. The staff their was amazing as well! Love this place!

I stayed here for about 2 to 3 weeks once while I was waiting for escrow to close on a house that I was buying and it's a very small boutique hotel it's very expensive they have valet parking and it's going to cost you an arm and a leg per day however they do deliver you the newspaper and the Wall Street Journal every morning they have 24 hour room service the food is really good and there was a man there who became a good friend of mine and we talked a lot and we got along and he was basically the grounds keeper/concierge, and I cannot emphasize how nice he was and how pleasant

We loved our stay at the Georgian. We really enjoyed the location, the staff, the restaurant, the bar and our king suite room! We (me, my wife and our dog) stayed four nights and loved it so much we almost stayed an extra night.

From the moment we pulled up to the valet, Hani greeted us and made us feel right at home, even helping us with our avalanche of bags and dog and such. We checked in at the front desk with Alex, who was super welcoming and informative. Lorena in the restaurant was lovely, Ethan helped make our dog feel at home and don't get us started about the bar tender, Eddie

I was very excited to stay here for the weekend to have a quick getaway at the beach, but was a little surprised but the lack of customer services. Our valet- was very helpful though it may seemed the manager (or who we think is the manager) was very dry distraught and made us feel as we did something wrong to bother him with a question on where to go for valet. We got over it and went to check in. The place seemed a little disorganized and the check in area is very small and in the way of the main walkway. Not only that but they do have a restaurant on the same floor which causes a little more

Great service here! We really loved Lorena. She went above and beyond in providing exceptional customer service. We really feel like she cared and is the reason that we returned the following night. Our second night was a male server who was really kind and motivated to provide us with great service. Great drinks and apps. Right across from Santa Monica beach. Great atmosphere for drinks, dates, or family outing. Recommend for a night out with drinks!

We had a fabulous high tea bridal shower this weekend at the Georgian veranda and it was so beautiful and so fun! Thank you to the great staff, as well as Jeff, and Araceli, who helped me plan this event down to the smallest detail. It was perfect.
We stayed in the ocean front suite and it was also wonderful. Views, spacious living room, and a large bedroom. Great staff throughout this hotel. Rubin and Simone so helpful!
The restaurant is so good, too. It was a pick from yelp and it was a good one. So happy about this gem in Santa Monica's Ocean Ave.

I'm not sure why this place gets knocked around a bit by other reviewers.

Yes, it's smallish and oldish but that's because it's smallish and oldish. I think the place is about 85 years old so give them a break. 85 years ago, people were not as tall and, let's be honest, not as fat as they are now.

The Art Deco decor outside and inside, including in the guest rooms and bathrooms, is charming.

The staff, in particular the valet staff, was extremely friendly and attentive.

Yes, it's expensive but you're literally a 10 minute walk from the pier or the heart
