We stayed here for a full week between Christmas and New Years' day. It's not the easiest time for a hotel to have staff to be on top of their game and yet Casa Del Mar was excellent.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and that included front desk, concierge, housekeeping...everything. The hotel itself and our rooms were clean with unparalleled ocean views. Good towels, instant hot water on the 6th floor, comfortable beds...our group was very happy.
The hotel restaurant and bar is about as pricey as you expect. The food is good but you are paying for the view.

I travel extensively for business and pleasure and cant count the number of hotels that I've stayed at over the years. In all that time I've had maybe a handful of really poor customer service experiences that prompted me to post a negative review. Most times I just chalk it up and move on, however I liked this property which is why I was extremely disappointed in what occurred.
I had stayed at this property several weeks earlier and spent several thousand in room, food and bar charges

One of the best places for ala cart breakfast in Santa Monica. Patio seating with the view of the boardwalk and the beach with freshly prepared Eggs Benedict, Ham and Eggs, Cream Cheese Bagel and a bawl of sliced fruits. The place is casually elegant with courteous staff who are receptive to your dining needs. They welcome non-hotel guests or walk-ins for breakfast so this comes as highly recommended.

I have had the loveliest stay at Casa Del Mar. I'm in town for a friends wedding and I don't normally opt for the nicer hotels but this time I decided to treat myself. Everything is decorated in wonderful taste, with small touches like dimmers in every room and the most magnificent bathtub known to man, and it shows that attention to every detail and thoughtfulness was taken in the style and design of each room. We stayed at Hotel Casa del Mar for our honeymoon and we loved it! The customer service was amazing and they even gifted us some champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for the first night of our stay. The hotel has beautiful ocean views and the Santa Monica pier is only a 10min walk away. We highly recommend staying here!

Amazing stay from beginning to end! The hotel is beautiful and the location prime, but the real magic comes from the awesome team that works there. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and really went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect.

This hotel was the most amazing experience! From the time we were greeted to the moment we left, and everything in between, we felt special! The staff greeted us by name as we entered each day, the concierge set up everything we asked for in a timely manner and had great communication throughout the entire trip. Each staff member acknowledged us with a smile as we were walking through the freshly shampooed hallways or next to the amazing pool!
Drinking coffee each day at the outside restaurant was great to people watch, enjoy the view and site celebrities.

Well what a sad shame !! With great expectations we entered this beautifully situated restaurant, decorated very pleasantly, very polite staff that we first encountered and from there it went down hill ! Poor poor poor Service we sat and waited ! After having our drinks delivered we sat and watched as five or 6 other tables were seated and attended as we got lost in the crowd I guess being a quiet couple waiting to spend money and give a great review !! What can I say!???? There are no words to describe this place. My fiancé and I usually do Air Bnbs because there are more accommodations and originality to choose from when picking them. I haven't stayed in a hotel in awhile and generally choose not too because they are all the same. Nice lobby standard mediocre room. Casa Del Mar is NOT that. Back to back incredible experiences. Not only is this hotel my favorite in the city, it's a total escape. More importantly, I've had two of the best front desk experiences I've ever had in any hotel, ever. Jamie, the front desk agent helped my in April, and in June, recognizing me over my face mask from months earlier. Not only is she extremely accommodating, she's exactly the professional interaction people need when checking into a great hotel like Casa Del Mar, or any other dealing where someone is providing an experience for a customer.

Wow! What a beautiful hotel, the staff goes above & beyond to make it an unforgettable stay. The location is amazing. We rode bikes provided by their sister hotel next door and had a blast. Nice pool & space to get a nice California tan. You don't really need your car as most everything is in walking distance. The beach is picture perfect & many restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed our stay & felt like a celebrity. Coffee is available for free in the morning but you will be charged if you have it at breakfast in the restaurant, a bit tacky I thought. Over all definitely a 5 star hotel

The photos really do not do this hotel justice. From the moment we walked in, the service was amazing. We booked with Amex platinum so we received early check-in, late check-out, free daily breakfast for two ($60/day) and $100 spa or dining credit.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend trip and I'm so glad we chose Casa Del Mar. It was a bit pricier than we were originally planning on but it turned out to be so worth it! We received a partial ocean view upgrade when we arrived, free drinks from the bar, and a free one hour bike ride. Brian at the front desk helped us out so much and was so nice! We had the best weekend here and will definitely be coming back!

We have had just an amazing 4 days of sunshine at Casa Del Mar. The staff are top notch, they brought us a complimentary fruit bowl our first evening in, they turned our beds down, and set up the room for the night. They still had room service, poolside service & restaurant service. The hot tub was perfectly warm, never cold even though the weather was in the low 60's. The kids loved the pool too. The responsibility that comes with being a five star hotel is enormous. Having been writing about travel for 20 years I have found that location gives a hotel instant props, but if the details are not sparkling, you won't remember the fantastic view or access to amazing shopping, but rather the terrible service you received, over-cooked food, or worn out mattress.
Hotel Casa Del Mar on Santa Monica beach is one of those hotels where the location takes your breath away and then the service jolts you in the arm with a cattle prod.

Room: wow, definitely makes you feel like you're at home. It's clean, well decorate, and plenty of mirrors! Yessss!
Bathroom: By far the best shower water pressure! Oh and the shampoo brand they have are so good that i plan on buying some myself!
Gym: It's small but just right. They have drinking water for you and a basket of ear plugs.
Overall, one of the best hotel experiences. I would definitely stay there again!
