The Hotel Wilshire (aka The Kimpton Wilshire) is a small hotel that's just a half block from the Marriott AC hotel, both on Wilshire Blvd (cross street is Crescent Heights Blvd). This stretch of Wilshire is currently (12/2021) in transition. The city of LA is extending it's subway system that will include a line that runs the length of Wilshire from downtown LA west to the Pacific Ocean. There is currently road construction on Wilshire between Fairfax and Crescent Heights. Although this area is generally safe (you're 1 block away from the pricey Beverly Glen residential area), you should use caution

The hotel is very comfortable, and the staff is very friendly, but either not well informed or intentionally misleading.

They have an amenity fee of $25 per day, of which you get $10 per day back to use for food or beverage purchases. A bit odd, but fair enough. I guess they're trying to get you to buy something.

The only problem with this is the person who checked me in explained it very differently. She simply said I had a $25 credit for each day, and accordingly, I bought two $8 beers daily. When we talked about this the first day, she even remarked that this wouldn't exceed

The buildings on either side of the hotel shine giant flood lights/ spots lights directly at the hotel cause light to pierce the blinds and get into your room. Tons of noise pollution from surrounding area!! Loud blaring music playing playing all night!! Over priced! the holiday inn is better than this.

I am currently staying at the Kimpton Hotel Wilshire, and it has been rough. The room was dirty with crumbs on the floor. The first night I could not get anyone from the front desk or valet on the phone. When I got into the elevator my first day, one of the employees told me he had been on several job interviews that day to "get out of this place." Bad sign. The second night the TV was not working, I called down and the front desk told me they would send someone but no one ever showed up. You have to order housekeeping 24 hours in advance - I ordered someone to come today at 10am, but it is now

Great service and cute rooftop bar and pool. The only thing that was off-putting— given the price per night— was how much you could hear from other rooms, the hallway and the floor above

I do not recommend this place and I will never go there again. One good thing - the staff was extremely nice. Other than that - the room was not very clean. There were crumbs and dust on the bedside table. The bedside lamp did not work - flickered constantly, then went out. The bathroom is horribly designed - there might be a couple of square inches to put your things. There is one towel bar and one hook. The shower is just a shower head in the room - not enclosed. If one person takes a shower it's fine. But if two people take showers one right after the other, the bathroom floor

Came here for my university networking event. To my surprising, both my alma matter AND the school I studied abroad at were having events here! This is a popular place for networking, group hang outs, and dates. I loved the vibe, very classy and upscale with plenty of seating and room. You can sit in a more intimate group setting, hang out by the bar, or sit or stand around the middle tables as well. The servers were all very nice and polite. Huge wine selection and other drink options. Not too loud and great ambience. Their food was great too, I helped myself to a few sliders and slices of pizza

My stay at the Kimpton Hotel Wilshire was not horrible, but underwhelming. The area and curb appeal of the hotel left much to be desired - the area surrounding the hotel was bleak. Our room was okay, very spacious but it felt average. Our bathroom door was broken and could not close fully. The beds were comfortable. Nothing felt luxurious and the hotel had an odd smell.

However, we LOVED the valet service and utilized it many times. Staff was very attentive and always ready to help. We also enjoyed the rooftop area. It has beautiful views but overpriced drinks that aren't very good.

This review is about the rooftop!

We LOVE the chill vibes. We are local and come for sunset dinners.

The bartender Dominic makes AMAZING cocktails.

The had a drink on the special menu called the Oaxacan medicine. It's the BOMB. We have been back several times this summer specifically for this cocktail plus the food and sunsets! I hope this drink is added to the regular menu.

Thanks to Dominic and the rooftop team for the amazing service!

See y'all soon!

I woke up from my nap and saw a spider on the ceiling... also noticed cup rings on the night stand. Due to COVID, I'm not sure everything is sanitized properly. Nice hotel but cleanliness is very important, especially during this time.

The rooms need to be better maintained. We had a one king suite with one double room connected. The king bedroom's wall sconce wouldn't turn on. Due to covid, we decided not to contact front desk to get it repaired. That room also reeked of cigarette smell. Not sure if the smell came through the vents or someone had smoked in the room but the smell was so strong, I can actually taste the cigarette in my mouth. It's a shame we paid extra for the sitting room but couldn't really stay in the room because of how bad it smelled.
The double room was very nice and spacious. No complaints

Good, not great.

It was comfortable enough, but the sheets are really rough. The biggest reason for my low rating, however, is the fact that they didn't provide turndown service.

I would say pass on this hotel unless it is $130 and under. It was so overpriced for what you get. The building itself was super old, hallway was creepy, lobby depressing looking. The lady at check in was super nice.

The room: we were very disappointed. It was tiny! Only enough space for a bed and a small table. There was no basic necessities. They really tried to skimp out on everything.

There was no trash can in the main room, no lotion (even motels provide this), fridge was broken.

This room was pathetic and overpriced to say the least. You're better off at the marriot or an updated

I am recently looking into relocating to La due to school and I came across this hotel as it is located on Wilshire blvd, by UCLA. On the hotel actual site everything looks great but once I arrived, I was a bit disappointed. The staff was great but the hotel itself was located kinda in the middle of nowhere. I have a McDonald's on my right and Chase bank on my left. The street was super dark where you couldn't even tell this was a hotel. The room was small and our air conditioning didn't work well at night considering it was a hot day. I was disappointed. Not sure if I would ever

I stayed here for a friend's birthday party mid-pandemic (September 2020) and felt very safe and comfortable in my room with all the precautions and extra cleaning measures in place. Lovely rooftop pool. The fancy suite my friend booked had a large private patio, allowing for a socially-distanced celebration outdoors. I booked my own room to follow health recommendations. I enjoyed my complimentary breakfast and coffee, safely packaged and ready for pick-up at the front desk. Downsides: valet was very expensive, weird shower that was difficult to shut off, and not all guests followed posted

What a gorgeous hotel! It doesn't look like much from the outside but once inside, the service is top notch and the accommodations so clean and comfortable! Cornelia met us at the front counter and made check-in easy and efficient. She was very kind, knowledgeable and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Once in our room, the cleanliness was impressive and for two tired parents of twins, the bed heavenly. We called down for ice which was promptly delivered as were lush bathrobes for us to use during our stay. Fabulous stay. Thank you Cornelia and staff!

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this email in regards to our stay on May 10, 2020, Mother's Day. The reservation was under my husbands name. We are very displeased with our stay and wanted to reach out to you. Prior to our stay, my husband reached out to your property to ensure proper sanitation and extra precaution considering everything that is going on with COVID-19. On your website, you even recognize that your priority is the health and well being of your

I had a lovely experience at the Kimpton during a recent visit. For starters, its prime location made accessing all that the city has to offer that much more convenient for a quick drive or uber to various hot spots.

The check-in process was seamless and I was greeted by a friendly host with a glass of Cabernet upon my arrival. The rooms were small, but clean, comfortable and did the job. The valet, although pricey, was quick and professional, with the attendants warmly offering bottled water and luggage assistance at each request. They also have an amazing rooftop that offers some pretty spectacular

This is a little boutique Kimpton on Wilshire hidden between buildings and a quick turn into a parking lot with valet. The check in is quick and the rooms are typical Kimpton. Yet, some of the amenities are lacking like I didn't have lotion in bathroom and had to call down for it and then there was an old stereo rather than the typical jam box. However, there is ice and icecream on every floor and the rooms are relatively quiet. Best part was the shower and the roof top pool with views of Hollywood. I would definitely stay here again if needing to be in central area of LA.

I planned our small wedding ceremony in the penthouse suite here and everything went perfectly thanks to the staff at Hotel Wilshire! The reason we chose this venue is because we wanted to have our dogs at the wedding and we didn't want to have to travel to multiple places. We always stay at Kimpton hotels if our dogs will be with us because it is SO welcoming to our fur babies! The penthouse was great because it has about 600 sq ft of space inside (living room, bathroom, bedroom, bar) and about the same amount of space outside including lounge areas and a dining
