El Burrito Express 1
El Burrito Express first opened it's doors back in 1981, when Mila Lopez had a dream of serving fresh Mexican food with healthier alternatives in a fast casual environment. Mila gained her entrepreneurial spirit and skills for the food industry from her parents Perfecto and Celia Lopez, who founded Celia's Mexican Restaurants back in 1960.

Since 1981 EBX has grown to 2 locations and continues to serve the communities who have supported us for over 35 years. We work with local vendors, use authentic family recipes and prepare our food fresh daily. We treat our employees and customers with respect. We make efforts to offer healthy alternatives and to introduce various combinations of flavors and ingredients to our guests.

I've been coming here since my mom took me to EBX when I was 7 years old. The carne asada is the best and still taste just as good as I can remember when I was a kid. I always get a super burrito or super bronco. Can't go wrong with the carne asada.

Just ordered a burrito, burrito/tostada bowl, and quesadilla. It was all fantastic! Only taken me 3 years in the Sunset to find my favorite Mexican go-to!

I'm no Anton Ego, but I much prefer to get a burrito from EBX than Chipotle.

Order ahead and pickup is your best option as the seating and waiting area is small

Ordered from here many times. The food is always good. With that being said, before Covid, this place was much more affordable. Now, it's $50 for 2 burritos, an appetizer and a drink.

Hard to hear. Burrito was good. Though not as packed as Guadalajara or Farolito. But still nice to have a burrito in the Sunset.

I stopped by El Burrito Express to have a quick bite. it is a small, no-frills corner eatery with an expansive burrito menu. No line or wait on a Thursday morning so service was fast. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito and I enjoyed it. It's pretty standard stuff but for the price it has great value. My favorite taquerías in the Mission has gone way too expensive these days.
There is no seating inside but a standing stand and a row of bench outside.

Pretty expensive food for the amount you get, that's if you order the specials. Food takes a while to be served and even longer when there is a line. The place is a hole on the wall, expect to order take out. Not the cleanest place either. There's is a large selection of food, so if you like it, you won't be short on options. This place is fairly popular with the neighbors since it's the only Mexican joint within walking distance.
