The world of Healthcare/Patient Advocacy was not in the general public's consciousness when I started my own healthcare advocacy practice in 2005. I had been looking for other people who were practicing as Healthcare/Patient Advocates and Navigators, assisting families and individuals of all ages in navigating through complex medical situations.
NAHAC provides educational webinars and podcasts for the general public and for professional advocates. One of the Best Practices for advocates is a commitment to continued learning in the field of advocacy. We offer free webinars to the general public and our Full Members as well as Continuing Education credits for our members and the advocacy community.
NAHAC is pleased to announce the election of a new Board of Directors along with an expansion from five to nine members. The addition of two more board members will allow for officers to work on diverse projects and create opportunities for NAHAC members to support and grow the organization.
Carey established Blue Sky Health Care Advocates (BlueSkyHCA) in 2014 to assist patients and families in navigating the complexity of the US health care system.An expert in health insurance and medical bill problem solving, she focuses on the financial side of health care in her advocacy practice. Carey is a founding member of Massachusetts Health Care Advocates (MAHCA), NAHAC's first regional advocacy group.

The Education Committee was created to provide information to members of NAHAC that will aid in their advocacy of patients and increase their awareness of new and current topics of interest. The group has also been charged with supplying educational Information to the public. NAHAC offers a selection of clinical and advocacy practice webinars to our Student members.
