Absolutely fantastic! Every appetizer and entrée was truly delicious. Mushroom ravioli. Coconut shrimp. Lamb chops. Pork tenderloin. Orange chicken. And the sleepy Dark Cove risotto!!! Who knew a vegetarian dish could win the night? I regret that I had but one stomach to give to this gastronomic delight of an evening. I'll be back!

Visited last night, love it!! We are in town for two days, thinking on going back tonight. Even their mash potatoes was full of flavor!. Our appetizer was a crab cake with two shrimps on a bed of crunchy kale, we ate every bite of it. The ribeye steak was not the best quality meat, but the rest of the plate was so good that we could not complaint at all. The restaurant itself is a historic building, it felt like a movie set. The service 5 stars, I am sorry that I forgot his name.

Great Service, Marginal Food, Loud Porch Dining. Three of us went. Two of us thought that their entrees were particularly good. I though my entree was marginal. We all enjoyed the Appalachian Charcuterie Appetizer (A Board Containing Goat Cheese, Pimento, Brie (All from local farms), salami's, spiced walnuts, dried fruit and spiced blueberry preserve). One member of our party loved the spice blueberry preserve and ordered a side to go with her entree. I had the Continental Divide Trout (boned trout filet laced with a lump crab stuffing and char-grilled over an open flame. Finished with a lemon

Although we haven't been dining out much this past year, every restaurant we have gone to in every State (9) across the Southeast and Midwest has been staffed with mask wearing employees. Things changed last night at The Orchard. We entered with a sign posted on the door encouraging mask wearing. The host/owner who greeted and sat us was wearing a mask. To include our server, we did not observe any other staff member on the floor wearing a mask which led us to believe probably not the kitchen staff either.
All that being said, the food was up to their usual quality and standards. So if you

I guess I have never ordered correctly here over the last 15 years. Tonight I thought we would give it another try. I ordered a staple on the menu Trout Almandine. Wow, the seasoning was so over powering and the fish so over cooked. I found it almost inedible. I, also, had a cosmopolitan and it wasn't too good either . Some at our table of eight thought their dinners were wonderful, but most didn't comment. Service was nice. If there is a next time, I'll let someone else order for me!!

Stopped by based on local recommendations and didn't disappoint! Service was great (we weren't rushed), and waitress was knowledgeable on menu and wine. Started with charcuterie which was perfect size for 2. Homemade pimento cheese was one of the best we've had and the goat cheese was also amazing! For dinner we had the shrimp and grits and Glenville fried trout. Grits were very cheesy and creamy. Shrimp was very flavorful. Trout was fresh with light breading and perfectly paired honey Dijon tarter sauce. Great place to go for date night or with a small group!

As a realtor in the Cashiers Highlands area, I find myself recommending restaurants to my clients constantly. The Orchard is one that I consistently say, "you have to go to this one!" I recommend them, but I also go their frequently. The brother duo that run The Orchard grew up in a restaurant family. The family feel is evident in every experience you have there. The food is quintessential mountain flare and is consistently the best in town. And their service is also as friendly as you will find in the mountains!
During season, I highly recommend you call well in advance so you do not

The low lighting in the restaurant/farmhouse sets the tone for a romantic evening out or in our case, an upscale dining experience with kids. Troy, our server provided excellent service. We ordered flounder with scallops, shrimp and grits, lamb chops, and pecan crusted trout with grits. All of the meals were very good and hearty portions. I don't think they are used to gluten free requests but were able to work with our dietary limitations. We were pleased with our experience and would definitely return if in the area.

Food is really good...reservation process is horrible. Nobody answers phone...left 2 emails according to directions on website, and a message on phone 36 hours prior...never heard back. Three hours prior to dinner time we called yet again and finally got an answer and they said no openings. Not good

Covered patio seating. Beautiful setting with flowers and trees. The food was delicious but was a little pricey for what is actually given. Protein portion was ok. There certainly could be a larger portion of veggies. The cheese biscuit is very good but it's the size of a half dollar. Suggestion is to add twice as much veggies, add another biscuit or make the single biscuit larger. The blueberry cobbler was amazing.
They are practicing COVID-19 safety protocols. They deliver your drinks and food to a tray near your table and you then serve yourself. Only issue is no one came back around

Delicious food! Can I give this 6 stars? The menu is smaller right now due to COVID, but everyone's food was incredible. The berry cobbler is a must have.
They are taking great COVID precautions. The seating is at their events venue so there is lots of space outside and open air if you want to sit at one of the few tables inside. The waiters also just place the food on the tray table by your table and you serve yourself which I liked-- very safe.

Be careful of your GPS directions when visiting the orchard. The directions here on Yelp are correct but one of the other companies has you turning north on North Carolina 107 and you need to turn south on North Carolina 107 and proceed about 0.9 of a mile and the restaurant will be on the left-hand side.
One of only 4 or 5 good restaurants in western North Carolina west of Asheville. Just the fact that we've been here twice in less than a week indicates how much we enjoy it.
There are always appetizer specials and usually the soup of the day - this time it was a wild mushroom.

First, walked in without a reservation and was seated in just a few minutes. After seated we were greeted promptly by wait staff with water. The menu offerings are fantastic which made it very difficult to select an entre. The starter menu looked great but unfortunately we could not find room to have one. Next time! My wife ordered mushroom ravioli and I ordered the encrusted trout over cheese grits. Both meals were fantastic. Service was great. We were in the area on vacation and were happy to find this gem.

You CANNOT go wrong with this place. We sat after the meal was over and went back through every top restaurant we have ever been to and decided this is our number one restaurant of all time. The steak and the venison made us both stop in our tracks. It was like biting into a cupcake, but it was steak. So tender, so flavorful. We were full, but we had to keep eating it.
I had carrots, risotto and baby kale. I've never had kale that tasted so good. I would have eaten a whole bowl. Everything on my plate was top notch and beautifully presented.
I forgot to mention the app. We got the mussels. We

We come eat here once a year while we are in Cashiers. Great food. They do alot of fresh local dishes most of which are fantastic. The appetizers are on the very small side, but the main courses are very filling. Service is spot on both the server and the bartender visit the table and introduce themselves. They are always knowledgeable and helpful. Do make a reservation as they tend to fill up. Sometimes if you're lucky the local black bear will visit the field by the restaurant.
