Small wooden gutter unable to handle water run off from roof above this has caused undo amounts of water to over flow onto stoop below. If you look close at the moisture meter in the picture you can see that the top red light is lit up.(this is to the left of the red bar at the top) this indicates extensive moisture build up in the attic.
I just want to say that the service from Steve was excellent! He was able to work with me in short notice and provide a thorough and informative eval. This is my second time working with him and I will most certainly refer any future homebuyers to Top Notch. We were very pleased with the thoroughness of the inspection and the results recorded in the report.
Your report will include pictures of the exterior of the house. We take pictures of most problems that would be considered a large concern and we can also insert complimentary pictures of any room in the house at your request. Your home inspection services include a comperhensive visual examination of the readily accessible elements and components.
This list of inspection preparations is for the benefit of both the seller and buyer, as home inspectors in most cases we will never have contact with the seller of the subject property. When we arrive the owner is normally not home or if home does not have the time to prepare once we are there. So we cannot advise them on what they should have done to prepare for the inspection.
I would personally like to Congratulate all potential first time home buyers, for deciding to purchase your first home, this is a big step and a large investment for all first time home buyers. Most of us spend years working and saving before we are able to invest in a home and can't afford to make any costly mistakes during the first time home buyers experience.

I needed to find an inspector asap so I searched Yelp and picked Top Notch. That was the best decision I made. Steve was extremely thorough and very knowledgeable about inspecting. He took his time, unturned every enclosure, took clear photos, explained findings very clearly and was very brilliant! I will definitely be calling him again. Thank you so much Steve!!!

Steve was absolutely fantastic as our home inspector. He was diligent, detail-oriented, professional and so incredibly helpful. He walked me through every step of the inspection, pointing out issues big and small and offering plenty of bonus tips that were invaluable to me as a first-time home buyer who honestly isn’t very handy or knowledgeable about the ins and outs of home ownership yet.
He helped us spot and understand issues that we would have never known about otherwise which meant we ended up knowing much more about the home we were buying, including many less obvious deferred maintenance

Steve was great! He answered all my questions, and was very thorough in his report. He started in the basement of the home, and worked his way up. He was detailed opening all windows, turning on the heat, the water, all appliances, checking the foundation, roof, driveway, and the list goes on. He made it very clear in his report the condition of the home. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

My experience with Top Notch Home Inspections started off great from the initial phone call. I called after business hours expecting to leave a message, and Steve Smith answered the phone to my surprise. I was able to make an appointment on short notice (2 days).
Steve was nothing short of amazing. He took the time to thoroughly inspect the house and explain his findings in detail. His knowledge and patience definitely alleviated some stress my wife and I were having.

I have used Top Notch Home Inspection twice for the same client. We were impressed with the detailed inspection report they prepared for my client. Steve Smith was absolutely wonderful to work with. As a first time home buyer, I knew pretty much nothing about the inspection process and Steve took the time to explain everything he was doing to me and answered all the questions I could think of. He arrived on time, was very professional and personable, and I got my inspection report in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a home inspection!
