Nestled on a brook in the small hamlet of Hague at the Northern end of Lake George, the Hague Firehouse Restaurant offers casual American dining and fresh creative cuisine. Owners Sheri DeLarm and Crispin Ginn transformed what was once an old firehouse into a contemporary restaurant space with a large refurbished bar and a wall of glass that opens to an outdoor terrace overlooking the brook.
A nod to the building's former life is seen through the restaurant's industrial decor. The Hague Firehouse Restaurant is 0.2 miles from the junction of routes 8 & 9N in Hague, NY on beautiful Lake George. If travelling on Route 9N, turn onto Route 8 and go a mere 0.2 miles. The Hague Firehouse Restaurant is on your right.

First time I was here it was amazing. The chicken tenders and honey mustard were so good that I wanted to go back! I was in town 30 mins from the restaurant again and decided to go. It was my birthday and decided it would be worth the drive. The second time there was so awful that my 5 star review is now a 1 star. My girlfriend and I were both served raw chicken and when I told an employee they just took it to the back and refried the spit out bits we put back on the tray. I never like to blame the servers for kitchen issues but they did not handle it well - they came by the table once, asked

It was off season so the service was good but the menu is shrinking.
It's very noisy still in this place. You'd think after all these years and attempt would be made to deaden the acoustics.
The steak was very good along with. The chicken special.
The perch cocktail was very good as well but way way over priced. $13 for 6 3" thin strips.
$63 for this meal with no beverages is a real wallet stretcher even if it is a tourist trap.

Awesome location here hides average dining experience. Nestled along a stream with an awesome deck this is a premiere outdoor dining experience. A huge indoor bar dwarfs a few high tops inside. Heralded local sourced kitchen the food delivered did not match. My guess is that it wasn't because they didn't want to put out a good product but that the kitchen can't handle the volume. A basic burger was well over cooked missing the bacon ordered. Perch tacos were fried to death placed in cold soft taco and missing the Sriracha aioli. Both came with a middling portion of Sysco fries. The

It is a shame. Been coming here 3 or 4 times a year for the past 6 years now. We have seen the place evolve from a great spot with great food and friendly service, to a poorly run, over priced amateur show.
In years past the desserts were beignets with dipping sauces which were home made. Last year was prepackaged ice cream from a super market. Dixie cups and "nutty buddies ". The classic is when one of the waitresses servers her childhood friend of many years his entree, and he looks at her and says, "this is it?" Portion size that a child would need two or possibly 3 portions

What a cute backdrop. Pretty woods and beautiful stream running past. That part is 5 stars. But the food was really average and service pretty untrained. The ice tea was from a fountain and food really unseasoned. My kids wouldn't even eat the chicken fingers (eek). I got a tasteless flat bread that claimed to be using heirloom tomatoes, but got 3 quarter size slices of paper thin tasteless tomato. Their was also no flavor to the olive oil or mozzarella. The Tuna nachos (deconstructed) that my wife got was pretty and tasted "okay" but lacked in much tuna and could have been more substantive. If

Stopped here with the family after a day trip to Burlington Vt. Cool place in an old firehouse. We were able to sit on the back porch area overlooking a stream. Beautiful spot. We even had a visitor (on the ground below us, not on the porch) a small raccoon. Our server was very good with accommodating both a gluten and peanut/tree nut allergy at our table. The menu even notes items that are gluten free. Very helpful. The fried green beans were delicious and the perch tacos were very good. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well.
We will be heading there again tonight. Already looking

Our evening started with a call to make a reservation. "No reservations unless you are a boater." Got a chuckle out of the political lack of correctness of this policy. Putting this aside we were warmly greeted and sat at the bar while we waited for our preferred table on the deck brookside Didn't even have time to finish our generous Tanquery and tonic with extra fresh lime when our table was ready.
For a starter we shared crispy calamari which was fun with fried peppers added. Ordered dinner and a bottle of Sancerre wine to pair with our seafood dinners. Tom had a special of

Kitchen backed up big time on a Saturday night and chef offered us a drink on the house as compensation. Calamari might as well have been fried batter. Wrong burger arrived after a long wait and they offered to do the right one quickly. It came quickly, but it was virtually incinerated although I ordered it medium rare.
I'm willing to overrate a place like this given that it is appreciated to have anywhere to eat in an area where any place else is many miles away. The bar and dining room are attractive and we have had decent meals here over the years it has been in business. Hopefully

Wait staff was diffident and not too sure of what was going on. The don't take reservations we were told by phone and at the door for our group of six. After being rebuffed two days we finally made it.
There is no A/C.
Decor is pleasntly simple modern inside this tall cinderblock building. There is nothing beyond the name to make think firehouse. Could have been a truck garage. Beautiful windows with lovely views of wooded creek.
It has been very hot and humid for the last few weeks, and the lack of A/C meant that it was not surprisingly hot and humid inside.

Lovely creekside open air location, interesting and locally sourced tasty food... A breath of fresh air considering lack of quality nearby options. We parked the boat at the public dock in Hague and made the short and pretty walk to the restaurant. They were very kind to our birthday guest as well. Would definitely recommend. Think the charge for fries/chips is slightly steep, but the food is well done and worth it overall as the portions are adequate.

Beautiful creek behind the building, but the food was very expensive and not good. The specials were average to inedible, and the chips and fries while home made were soggy and lacked taste. Beware of the extra up-charges for items that are normally included. My wife has food allergies and is now in full blown food reaction mode. This was announced to the server and chef - as well as listed on our check - but still we're in emergency mode. We were even charged for beer that we didn't have.

Worst experience I've had at a restaurant in years!
A big 0 is what this restaurant deserves.
I'm sitting in the car, with an hour drive ahead of us on a Saturday night, and I have an empty stomach.
We had a 7:30 pm reservation. We arrived and they were busy. So we sat at the bar for a drink.
We were not seated until 8:45. We immediately ordered our food as soon as we sat down.
By 9:30, not even an appetizer was served to us. 45 minutes after we sat down at the table!
Two hours after our initial reservation, we were not even served a dinner roll!!!!

The front of the house doesn't do the back of the house justice!!!
No hostess at the front, packed bar but empty tables, wait staff just hanging out by the kitchen. Not a smile or welcome from the bartenders & a hostess that didn't crack a smile all night. Asked to see the specials while waiting for our table, hostess stated they are verbalized & walked away?!? When we finally got seated at our table on the patio she dropped the menus in a stack on the table & walked away. Not one word was said to us by the hostess - easiest job in the place & she looked like she was

Food is pretty good for the area, lots of shareable apps, specials, and a full bar. We had dinner here last week, they get pretty busy so be sure to call ahead for a table. We ordered the buffalo wings (great sauce- spicy, tangy, smoky, & sweet), steamed littlenecks, and the meatball appetizer (not bad for a restaurant meatball- I make the best, il migliore).
For dinner I had a burger from the special's menu which was served on a brioche bun (never my 1st choice) with cheddar cheese, carmelized onions, homemade mayo (laced with truffle i believe), and a generous serving of crispy, meaty

Totally unimpressed. I don't really understand what they're going for at this restaurant. $20-$30 entrees but they're playing a bad assortment of pop/techno/80's music and the servers are dressed in ratty looking tee shirts and short shorts. I don't get it.
We ordered a Caesar salad for the table which was romaine lettuce and stale croutons with bottled dressing and saw-dusty parmigiana cheese-- $14. I ordered the Country Fried Chicken. Mashed potatoes were good. The "milk gravy" that was on it was good. Chicken was a little overcooked but not too bad. $21 got
