Really uninspired food. Taco shells tasted rancid like Old El Paso taco shells past their best by date. Beef had the texture of an old bike tire.

Pure garbage. Even the lemonade tasted just like water.. Total waste of money. Not Mexican at all. Had to stop at a nearby takeout Gyro place to eat

If I only had a good WiFi connection, I would have checked out the reviews before coming here for dinner. Sadly, we failed to make reservations one night for dinner this week and this was the only place that was free for a group of 9 before 8:30pm. The food was pretty flavorless, the Meat was completely dry. The only thing that was decent was the chip and salsa on the table.

This was some of the worst food I have attempted to eat. My sons “steak” burrito was cold and wasn’t edible. The “free” chips were a mashed up recycled hodgepodge. The Diet Coke was flat syrup and when I asked if they give refills the waitress ( who couldn’t make eye contact) said yes, yet we were charged 10 for refills. I have no idea how a place this bad stays in business.

I wish I had read the reviews before coming. We picked this spot because it was the only place without a wait: in hindsight, we should have taken that as our cue. We sat on the back deck since it was a nice day and we orders drinks to start. The Margaritas come in many different flavors and each one is amazing! The food on the other hand was just okay; rice was dry, black beans were flavorless, and the burritos, enchiladas, and tacos were just okay. We all liked sitting on the outside patio but were disappointed this didn't taste like real, authentic Mexican food (btw, my boyfriend is Mexican

The worse food I’ve had in a long time. Soda was flat, my mother and I ordered the chicken fajita wraps they both looked different and the chicken was like a sponge. I send mine back because there was no cheese and I got it back with the same brown sauce on it. Neither of us ate it. The waitress did not know what queso is and they did not serve it. No manager on staff to complain to or to make an adjustment to my bill.

Is it possible to give 0 stars? Please don’t take your family here, you’re better than that. I had the fish tacos which were served practically raw. This place is not cheap either. For undercooked, microwaved “mexican”, give this place a try!

Lake George is packed but we got a table here. Service was friendly and efficient. All good on that score. Sadly, food was disappointing....my grilled chicken fajita sandwich unfortunately was very bland, other dishes my family had were similarly undistinguished (fish tacos and quesadillas). So on positive side, we had a dinner when we weren't sure we'd find a table available in town; on the down side, even Chipotle brings more zest to the meal.

The service wasn't that great, I was left choking with nothing to drink. The food barely had any flavor, my rice and beans were hard. My soft tacos barely had any meat and the little bit of meat it had was awful. I ordered a fish bowl and when I began to drink I noticed a dead ant inside my drink. This place is just disgusting! Don't waste your time nor money.

I wish I had read the reviews before going here. The food wasn't great. The beans tasted undercooked. The staff was super slow and I had to keep calling for the server because she never stopped at our table and did everything to avoid eye contact. The only good things was the fried ice cream, but not worth going back for. Just don't go here, it's not worth it

I went to S.J. Garcia 's 2 nights in a row. Both times I was served by a very friendly bartender. My Quesidias with spicy pork the first night were delicious and served quickly.
The second night I just had drinks and desert. Again, delicious and served with a friendly smile . The pleasant atmosphere, great food and great staff make this a go to place when I will visit L.G. in the future.

I have to say the restaurant itself gave good vibes the wait staff was good the food on the other hand was not even close to what authentic Mexican food is like I would have even gave them props if the food was at least as good as taco bell or chipotle to say the least but otherwise u better off avoiding this place altogether and the price was not cheap I wouldn't have mind paying for good food but overall a missed opportunity

After a long day dropped in without any awareness in how the food or service might be. Truly enjoyed be the meal and the service was even better. In an area, where so much is over hyped, this was a great experience and I would return!!??

Oh god, lol no. Just no. I wish we pulled the Yelp reviews before coming in.
For such a prime location this spot was NOT IT.
The food was just awful. For appetizers, we ordered chips and guac, because you know, you can't go wrong with chips and guac. Except apparently, yes, you can go wrong with it. They literally used wonton chips mixed with tortilla chips, which was just odd. And the guac that came with it was brown and it looked like it came from a sabra package to be honest. No freshness, or flavor.
All other dishes that came out after that was just as the same. Bland, with unfresh

The food here is nowhere close to authentic Mexican cuisine. The beans were watery and flavorless as if it was scooped directly from the can and onto my plate. Same with the rice and tacos. Flavorless, not worth the $15 per plate they charge. There is so much potential for this to be a great Mexican restaurant if the owners would take part in actually testing the food they are serving and putting attention and integrity back into the heart of the restaurant.

Service was a bit slow at first. With that being said... our waitress was working hard and running, she was polite and patient with the little ones at our 9 top. The food was on par and the drinks were good. Warning to readers.... if you order the spicy mango margarita fish bowl... it is hot, like eating the habanero raw kind of hot... pricey but worth it!
I appreciate the response to our earlier comment by management, great response!

Honestly a lot of these reviews are a bit harsh. Seems like a tough crowd. That being said service was ok, nice but. Not the most attentive or quick. I got the chicken and cheese quesadilla to be safe after reading the reviews. It was meh. Not bad just no real flavor, some adobo or some garlic powder would go along way here. Price to add dipping sauces to a quesadilla is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. That being sad not bad just a lot of room for some tune ups.

Oh man went there last night and the food was terrible. Beans probably out of the can.... Ortega taco shells do it your self tacos. No taste at all. Music was probably the only authentic Mexican thing going on.... don't go there at all. Service girl was actually really attentive but it was due to the lack of people eating.

Save your time and money and just don't go here. If you want food that tastes like you got it from a satisfactory-at-best place then heated it up in the micro wave two days later, then you'll probably love this place. The drinks tasted all like fake flavoring- the flavored margaritas. The food is super overpriced because it's very poor quality. The service was very nice though. It has opportunity to be a cool spot because it's a cool location- perfect for people watching and right by the water. The chimichanga was mainly consisted of just the rice next to the chimi. (It was

Entering SJ Garcias you were transported south of the border. Not just from the colors and decor but because the lack of English from the waitresses. The waitress was beautiful, sweet and had a great attitude but a limited command of English. Which is not good because I'm a vegetarian with almost no Spanish. But the food was quite good. The salsa is finally chopped which I normally don't like but it was very good. The chips were a mixture of corn tortillas and flour tortillas turned into chips and mixed in the bowl kind of delightful and original. We tried the machos nachos. The chips
