Founded in 1981 as a fast food vegetarian restaurant, Dharma's Natural Foods are completely vegetarian, with 95% of our items primarily vegan. And of course, we use no preservatives!. We attempt to use the best quality ingredients available, a large majority of them being organic, such as flours, veggies, some fruits, lentils, beans, soy products, grains & pastas.
We use expeller pressed extra virgin olive oil and safflower oils, and of course, we use no preservatives!. Open 7-days a week, from 8am to 9pm, serving breakfast until noon, lunch and dinner from 11am on. We offer outdoor seating, are close to the beach, serve beer and wine, and are available for take out orders.

Services
All burgers served on a whole wheat bun with pickle, lettuce and spiced grilled potatoes on the side. A tempeh patty, fresh pineapple and red onions grilled in a homemade teriyaki sauce on a whole wheat bun with mayo and lettuce. A Brahma Burger with "the works:" soy strips, tomatoes, grilled onions, melted Swiss cheese.
Our success is largely dependent on the support and mutual success of our friends in the community. These are some of our Local suppliers. Route 1 farms encompasses beautiful coastal valleys along the San Lorenzo River, just outside of downtown Santa Cruz, and along Waddell Creek, in northern Santa Cruz County.

I am vegetarian and I have lived in the area for 5 years. Tonight I finally ate at Dharma's for the first time. My experience proved that I made the right choice in refraining from dining here.
First of all the entire staff seemed disappointed when we walked in more than one hour before they closed. We looked at the menu and ordered at the counter. My bill was 20.98 for a vegetarian burrito and a water. I told the cashier that I did not need the pennies. I waited for my friend to order and they did not provide my drink order. However, the cashier made it clear that she expected to be tipped immediately

Excellent vegan food. They include flavors and dishes from around the world such as Asian, Mexican and Italian. Everything on the menu is good. My favorite is "Bo Thai", their vegan version of pad Thai. My wife loves the "nada chicken enchiladas" and my kids' favorites are the mac and cheese. It is higher priced than most other restaurants but their portions are larger than most. Most of the time, we order several dishes and share among ourselves. I would totally recommend doing that. Generally, parking is not an issue as the parking lot is huge.

Delicious vegetarian food that taste really good. I just tried the "BLT" with Fakin' Bacon that tasted amazing and the Bo thai noodles was really flavorful and chili and desert and coconut bliss smoothie were all amazing.
I'll want to go back and try some other dishes next time. The curry smelled amazing, too! So I might try that next time I go there.

Still delicious after all these years. The tahini dressing still rocks! Sadly, they no longer have cashew gravy and they subbed mushroom gravy without asking or telling me. When I inquired about it, the clerks seemed unfazed that they subbed without letting me know. Kinda strange, right? I will still go back because there is so much delicious food to choose from.

To me this is one of the most wonderful restaurants in the world, and I have eaten everywhere. Why? everything that comes out of that kitchen is just dynamite. The best quality ingredients. Huge portions. Sweet staff. Super well-organized. Clean. Really positive energy. And the food is just downright delicious! Try anything and you’re going to be happy.

My family has been coming here for three generations now and, as always, they never disappoint. I ordered their 3 Dog Burrito and lunch salad with their vegan bacon ranch. Absolutely divine and the service was excellent, as per usual. 10/10 I will always return here. Thank you Dharma's for being such a highlight in my family's life!!

Did a lot of research trying to find a good restaurant that had fresh food in the area. Did a lot of research trying to find a good restaurant that had fresh food in the area. Stumbled upon this gem. Looked at the menu for like 40 minutes there was so many good options ended up getting the tofu( soft) scramble with melted cheese and beans it was so delicious. This is a great option for vegetarians and for folks who are traveling with meat eaters I need the flexibility of good food options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The portion size was so huge I was eating and picking at it all day kept

Delicious food, cafe-style. The menu is vast and has items for folks whatever your craving of the day is. Definitely great for vegetarians. I had a BBQ seitan sandwich and a veggie BLT and was not disappointed. Bread could've been crispier on the BLT, but the flavors were on-point! The BBQ sandwich was saucy and absolutely delicious, I highly recommend it. Prices are reasonable, especially for the portion size. If you're on the fence on whether to come, think if it as an unpretentious Cafe Gratitude and head on over.
