Stayed 10/5/21. I was very impressed with the room we had and the view from the room or the private deck was spectacular (East King Room). The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly. They even took the time to mail me something I'd forgotten in the room. My only regret is not staying longer than one night.

We had such a lovely time at the Union Bluff.
Our room was clean and well maintained with a distinct regional charm. The old-fashioned keys added a sense of history to the experience, and our ocean view was absolutely beautiful.
But the real reason I'm writing this review is the small business charm that you can only find in hotels like these - My wife and I were in York to attend a wedding, and we were struggling to get an uber or taxi, and we were prepared to take a 1.5 mile uphill walk to the venue, which would have been tough for my wife in heels.
The owner of the hotel just offered to give

Robert, the valet, was the nicest most considerate human we could hope for after a very long day of travel. (watched our car and dog while we grabbed dinner) The goodness didn't stop there. The front desk folks were really nice and even though we were past the close time for ordering, they made it happen. Dinner was delicious, people were great and location is charming.

Initial experience on check in Sunday 8/31 was negative. 2 days prior to checkin I received an email stating to register with the front desk to check for early check in. If my room was not ready early I could receive a text from the front desk once my room was ready. Well I did this and the young woman at the window said that was not possible and I would have to come back to check. I did this 3 times over 3 hours before I could finally check in. I get that early check ins cannot be guaranteed but at least try to be more helpful. This was a negative first impression for a very pricey hotel.

Our stay at the Union Bluff Hotel was great. The rooms were clean. The location was perfect and so close to everything. Located right across from the beach & arcade, walking distance to York's Wild Kingdom, as well as surrounded by many local shops and restaurants. We ate at both hotel restaurants and the food was delicious, the service was excellent. The hotel staff is incredibly friendly. We did not use room service, as we only stayed 2 nights. Unfortunately, with all these wonderful things, the beds were extremely uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on a board. This might be okay for someone

Splurging with a one night stay here front ocean facing room is just gorgeous! Totally exhausted after a day of packing and preparing to move today. Could barely stay awake long enough to enjoy the crashing waves right outside the door. Friendly safe staff. Clean like new room. Comfortable bed. Balcony was well worth the money. Gorgeous view free internet. Yes I'm sure the price is very different in July but this is worth it. Got a great burger in the pub before my head barely hit the pillow So glad we stayed here. Only one family at-a time in elevator which makes sense very

I ordered a Cobb Salad without cheese. They told me 25 minutes for takeout and I waited 40. I got home and my salad was covered in bleu cheese. When I called to tell them they had made a mistake, the host said "so should we just give you credit back on your credit card?" She didn't seem sorry. I'm very disappointed and won't be going back unfortunately.

Pretty great sorta hidden spot.
We were searching for a nearby spot that we could just relax and have a beer. We were looking for a place open in town on a Wednesday but nothing come up.
Then we realized Union Bluff wasn't just a hotel, but a place with great food and drinks.
When we walked over that way we realized, at least currently, it has outdoor seating that faces the bay. We grabbed 2 chairs, next to a nice personal fire. The sunset view was impossibly great. We looked a the menu but had just ate, so just enjoyed the drinks. You have to go in to order, but that gave an excuse

Hotel might be okay---- but I wouldn't risk it. Gave them two tries---both times got the feeling that the bar is about as customer Unfriendly as it gets! First night we wandered in (no hostess or bartender in sight) so we sat down at the bar, which was AT LEAST 6ft from any other patrons. The bartender came over to get our drink order and my friend asked a question, only to find that the hostess had not gotten our information and made us leave (no on else wanted those seats--- it was a nice night and everyone wanted to be outside) but she ousted us--- yeah, yeah, "Covid rules"

The process for curbside pickup is seamless and the staff is incredibly friendly. Look at the menu on their site under dining. Then call, press 0 and tell the person you want to place an order for curbside pickup. You can choose to pay with credit card at that time or cash upon arrival. We ordered and gave our CC info, but she never asked if we wanted to tip, which many places do. I found that actually very classy. I asked if she could add a tip to the total. Due to my husband and I being high risk, the less interaction in person the better it is for us. She was grateful and asked what I wanted

A beautiful old turn of the Century hotel right on the beach in York Beach. Clean somewhat dated rooms but that's okay. Restaurant is decent as they have a pub and a more formal dining room. My wife and I have been coming here for many years but have decided not to return until some changes are made.
This hotel does nothing to support a clean environment. There are no recycling containers in the room to recycle bottles or cans. There are no signs indicating a place to hang your towel if you wish to use it again. With electro vehicles surging in popularity, it would be environmentally and

We have been eating at the Union Grill for over 15 years and typically over these 15 years the food and service has been 5 stars. However our experience more recently both at dinner and breakfast has been lees than spectacular. The quality of food has dipped - steaks are great, fish is over cooked and lacking any distinctive flavoring. Service and friendliness of waiting staff has dropped as well. Hope they can make improvements!

This was a beautiful location with delicious cuisine. I was a guest overnight for a wedding and it was a very positive experience. Servers were flexible with rules and we got no noise complaints.
EXCEPT!!!
The Front Desk Personnel. All four or five of those ladies seemed pushy and inconvenienced with standard duties. At times they were outright rude. It was really too bad because they are the first staff you're forced to interact with and last one's that hurry you out. The room cleaning staff was much more polite and helpful when asked questions normally reserved for the front desk

We head to York Beach every year to visit family and we always stay here at The Union Bluff because, well, they treat us like family! The hotel is nestled on what might be considered the greatest plot of land on the eastern seaboard. The beautiful white balconies of the hotel glisten in the backdrop of Short Sands beach. Find me a more picturesque hotel, I'll wait... I'll save you the time, you can't.
The food here is always great. Serving up local favorites with locally sourced foods that are always fresh. The bartenders make great drinks with heavy pours, particularly Devin, whom

Excellent meal in a beautiful location. View of the waves and beach from our seat near the window. We got a bunch of small plates for the table since everything sounded delicious. The oysters were very fresh, burrata salad was on point with fresh tomatoes, charcuterie plate was a very generous portion size and had great selections, fish and chips was the special and well enjoyed, local haddock in lobster sauce was decedent. It came with a generous portion of haddock and lobster meat, and a great sauce. Passed on dessert because we were so stuffed.
Took away one star for slightly slow service
