Colonial Inn
Long ago, before Ogunquit had a library, a bridge that connected the mainland to the beach, street lamps, or even electricity, there stood The Colonial Inn. Genuine Maine hospitality defines our service philosophy, provided to all our guests for over 130 years. The ten Superior King rooms are located throughout the four floors of the Main Inn.

These are some of the larger rooms in the Main Inn and feature one king-sized bed, an updated bathroom and a comfortable sitting area. Some of these rooms also feature original hardwood flooring. Originally built shortly after the Main Inn as a residence for past owners, The Colonial Inn's Guest House is a charming summer cottage located next to the property's pool.

All in all it is a good place, BUT...the staff upon checking in were nice but upon checking out, the manager basically told me things that SHOULD'VE been included in the room...i.e, blue bath mat so as to not slip in the shower, nothing there and then turned it back on me that I must have not seen it. Poor customer service. Tried to contact owner and got the proverbial runaround. The Inn closed for the season the very next day.

This hotel has many things you should know in advance. We asked for a refund to leave the day we got there it was so bad upon getting to the room and was told that only managers can do that but no manager available, EVER any time we or Expedia contacted them. Let's start with the floors are so slanted you will be dizzy. Our bed was in a slant, the head part was down lower you had to use pillows to prop you up to be level. The floors had stains on the carpet, the couch had dirt spots on it, the sink was never cleaned while we was there, the wash clothes were not replaced a few days. There was maid

Our stay at the Colonial Inn was nothing short of exceptional. Location could not be any better. If you are willing to walk a little, you won’t need to use your car at all during your stay, we didn’t. We walked everywhere, from Ogunquit Beach to Perkins Cove with ease. You are literally 5 minutes from the Marginal Way. Great private parking and really great staff. We will come back here every time! The room we had was in the main building and was beautiful, spacious, and clean.

Terrible breakfast, no provisions for luggage service and no luggage carts. Rooms are comfortable and clean but bathroom has very little shelf space for toiletries. Not that close to beach or town. Can't even see or hear the ocean.

I loved my stay at The Colonial Inn. It’s within walking distance to everything. The beds are so comfortable and we really enjoyed the hot tub and heated pool.

Love love love The Colonial!!! The staff are amazing and super nice. Great location. Our room was on the 4th floor with an side ocean view. Now it is an older building so some of the flooring was not level in our room but it really just added to the charm of the place for us. Nice big bathroom as well for a hotel. We will definitely be back!

Good accommodations, pool and hot tub are very clean and nice area around the pool. Rooms are nice but the real key is the location. Perfect distance from the downtown area and Perkins cove. Right near the entrance to marginal way

We have stayed here before and always enjoyed our stay. Very quiet on the 4th floor of the main building which we liked. The continental breakfast is a big plus when traveling with family. The location is great and is close to everything. Will be back again soon.

Once again we enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Colonial Inn! This year was made extra special when we were greeted with a basket of gluten free treats due to our dietary restrictions. Thank you so much for going the extra mile! See you again next year! ❤️☀️🏖😊

We have been coming to Ogunquit for years now, and have tried many hotels but the colonial is by far the best! It’s quite and peaceful. The hotel is for sure old but is updated nicely, also it’s located in the center so ideal to walk to either the beach , marginal way , and Perkins cove!

Think twice about going to this hotel. I won't go into all the details but we were not given the room that we paid for back in March, 3 months before our stay. We booked a room at the inn but through a lot of issues, we were moved to the Garden Building. The Garden Building is nowhere near a garden. It is a dump. The picture shown on the website is not what the rooms looks like. They look bright and airy but in reality are dark and dank. The only renovations that were done were in the main building. The furniture was plastic coated, the curtains were also plastic, the beds were not

We have stayed here a few times in the past two years. It is well-maintained and the rooms are very nice. Unlike those at most hotels, the beds here are actually soft and comfortable! Pillows, too. Windows at both ends of the room (East building) allow for a nice cross-breeze. Piano in main building. Red wine was put in our room by hotel staff upon request.

The place is very clean. The staff are helpful and hospitable. The Inn is in a very convenient location.
The bathroom is very clean and nice but this is where my complaints are.
There’s no area or stand where to put personal toiletries. The shower floor tiles are very slippery (disaster is waiting to happen), and there is no shower grab bar which could be an OSHA problem if any fall happens.
I don’t know if our room was the only one like this. I work in a place where we always have safety measures checked. Hope this review helps.

Incredible. Our favorite spot in Maine.

The inn is very cozy and charming. Service is always great. The building was an old inn that's been very nicely renovated. The lobby is relaxing and comfortable with seating areas for up to 20 people I'd say. There's games and cards for visitors to use. The porch is a great feature. We enjoying grabbing a coffee and just relaxing for a few minutes. Theres a solid continental breakfast each morning with fruits, cereal, yogurts, muffins and bagels. The inn also has a pool and jacuzzi that I enjoy visiting.

As far as location, this spot is

This hotels value is out of this world. Quaint, cheery, and perfectly located. The lobby really sets the tone with its decorative use of pale aqua, seafoam green, and bright whites. The hotel offers a superb continental breakfast on a patio that you can practically hear the ocean from. Marginal Way which is one of the most magical costal walkways I have had the pleasure of perusing is right behind the hotel. Although the hotel is not technically water front there are beaches galor within a brief walk. Also, quaint and elegant eateries line the the street that the hotel sits on. The pool is adequate

This hotel was in a great location. Hotel was okay but we had two sides. First, bathroom had ants, told the front desk when checking out however he looked at me like I was making it up. The second issue was we were on the ground floor. On the second night around 1am was woken up from loud noises from the floor above.

I made a reservation here for August 5 through August 10.
It was for a summer romantic getaway. Luckily for me my girlfriend could not attend.
I was in the guest house room 504.
Please do not waste your money. I paid almost $350 per night for a room at best worth $100. Terrible layout, dingy worn out furniture that looked like it was picked off the side of the road. Seventies styled wallpaper and hideous oak cabinet. The TV was newer, but small. The bed comfortable and the hotel in an ideal location.
The small pool area is unimpressive.
I was disappointed and cannot recommend this hotel.

Just a disgusting hotel. Room smelled like vomit and the breakfast was terrible. My wife and I asked to have the sheets changed, but I don't think that was done. When I complained, they said it was the "paint" from re-modeling the room. I'm not sure what paint smells like vomit. Then, I called back after I returned home, and they said I didn't do anything to bring this to their attention when I was at the hotel, which is just a flat out lie.

No matter what time my family and I went to breakfast, it always seemed to be picked over and a mess. Wi-fi never worked properly

Stayed here with my mother and sister for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and a good size. It is also close to the Marginal Way, although it does not have the views of the water that many other nearby hotels have. The included continental breakfast left a lot to be desired-basically just pastries, coffee, juice, and fruit. Some bagels and several cereal choices would have been nice. It was a pleasant stay.

Based on our stay in the main building , had two very different rooms, one very nice clean but small on the top floor (4) with a nice large bathroom , comfortable bed. The other on the 3rd floor a much larger room with an ocean view and sitting area. You can hear people walk around above you but I think you get used to it. They have a nice lobby area and wrap around porch where you can order beer wine and mixed drinks from front desk staff , and a small breakfast area for a snack of pastries, cereal, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, fruit , coffee juices. Location is amazing in the middle of town
