With custom menus, professional event planners, and over 25 years of wedding catering experience, we offer each and every couple mouthwatering cuisine, exceptional service, and most importantly - peace of mind. On Safari Foods was started as a sausage company by our founder, Teresa Carew. She brought traditional South African recipes for artisan sausages, otherwise known as "boerewors" when she moved from South Africa to the United States. Today, all our sausages are produced locally and made from all-natural, grass-fed, and hormone-free sources.
On Safari Foods recognizes the importance of community engagement.and the power of good food. Join our effort today. Donations at every level are available for purchase in the "Pantry" section of our online store. To support our community, we donate weekly to the West Seattle Food Bank. 2020 was an especially challenging year for so many, and, with your help, we were proudly able to feed individuals and families in need.
Yes, On Safari Foods offers creative vegan catering for events, weddings and corporate clients. In addition, vegan and vegetarian options can be added to any order. Not only can we arrange for the rental of the usual party items such as tents, tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware and silverware, but we also have access to fine china, crystal, and specialty linens.

We also offer creative wedding menus as well as special seasonal and holiday menus. We had On Safari cater our Sept 2021 wedding and cannot speaking highly enough of them! Our goal was a Vietnamese-PNW flavors fusion, with touches of fall... and they delivered. Spring rolls and galettes during cocktail hour were devoured! Build-your-own bun bowls with tofu or steak, then fish, mashed potatoes and minted green beans were all delicious. During our tasting, they listened to our extensive feedback and got all of the changes dialed in. Seeing our guests return for seconds was the best! On Safari Foods catered my son's bar mitzvah last weekend. Teresa was extremely attentive and detail-oriented from the start, helping us to build a menu, following up with us leading up to the event, and finally at the event itself. The food was so delicious - our guests raved about it the entire evening. Her staff was so professional, from set up to pack-out. I was able to really enjoy the event without having to worry about anything. They left my home immaculate. THE BEST CATERERS IN SEATTLE!!
On-Safari Foods has the most delicious foods and beautifully prepared meals. I have been to many events over the years that they have catered. This is the first time I personally hired them to prepare food for a memorial event I was hosting.
On-Safari has excellent customer service and communication. It was an immense relief that they were able to prepare our event with just a few days notification. The food arrived on-time. They set it up for us with a lovely presentation (the foods themselves were beautifully arranged). We didn’t need to do anything except eat

Our experience working with On Safari was amazing. We wanted a fully vegan menu and they stepped to provide extremely well prepared, tasty foods. Our menu tasting was an incredible experience. Elizabeth was professional, while also being the life of our lunch party. When we wanted to make changes, we were met with fresh ideas to add variety to our menu and even some dessert options we hadn't considered. I had always been happy with the catering from On Safari for our corporate events, so when I needed to have last minute catering for my grandmother's funeral I turned to them for help. From start to finish, it was a pleasure working with Teresa and her team. They made everything so easy for us during a stressful and emotional time. The food was delicious! It's a big ask to make Greek food for Greeks and everyone commented on how good the food was. The team of servers was very professional and did a great job before, during and after the event. A great spot in SODO. I saw this review and suggested it to my manager for lunch one day. It's almost like being invited in to an employee break room with friendly decor and great service. There are offices around the eating area, but you don't really notice them.
I had the karoo - it had just the right amount of spice (some heat, but not so you couldn't taste afterwards) and a good flavor. They advertised the salad as having a touch of lemon, and it made a great addition to the salad without it being overwhelming.

I raided all the way to a caterer kitchen to have my lunch. Smart move so I could have big portioned fresh gourmet for a reasonable cost - most importantly this is the only south african restaurant in Seattle!

One quick addition. The Eggplant Parmigiana is amazing! There's no pasta. The eggplant is sliced thin so it plays the part of the noodles and then there is layer on layer of cheese, tomato sauce and love. I could eat it everyday. It looks like it would be really heavy but the lack of pasta keeps it light and fantastic. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite lunch spots, period. A group of us come here multiple times a week. Rotating menu, including soups, fresh salads, and some very delicious desserts. Plenty of healthy entrees to choose from, as well. Aisha and Allie are two of the most generous people in the service industry. Guaranteed to be greeted with smile very time you walk in :) Enjoy!
