Bliss Kid Yoga
My passion for yoga started early in my teaching career. I worked long hours and began to feel disconnected from friends and family. After exploring many options, I began a daily yoga practice and started applying yogic techniques to my classroom. I saw the benefits unfold not only for myself but my students and was inspired to create a children's yoga program based on inclusion and mindfulness.

In my late 20's, after years of debilitating pain, I discovered I had Spina Bifida, a congenital spine disorder. I underwent spine surgery and turned to my yoga practice as a way to heal. Yoga continues to be pivotal in my recovery and I became driven to make this gift accessible to others. It is my dream that everyone has the opportunity to reap the benefits of yoga no matter age, ability, background or income.

Yoga is translated as union. Union of mind, body and spirit. It is a moving meditation designed to awaken our blissful nature. Yoga unites the inner and outer you through movements guided by breath, the practice of meditation and self-observance without judgment.

In our community and across the world children and families are faced with many daily stressors such as lack of access to healthy food, limited physical education, unemployment, state testing, pressure to succeed, peer pressure, over-stimulation and more.Yoga gives families a way connect and receive life changing resources in a positive and safe setting.

My daughter has shown so much emotional growth since she started her weekly sessions with Katherine. She has taken the techniques she's learned in yoga and, all on her own, used them when she's had anxiety or other negative emotions. It is wonderful that she's developing better emotional regulation along with all the other benefits of yoga!
Through community donations and grant support, we are able to provide quality wellness offerings in Austin, Tx, and beyond. All of our programs can be accessed virtually. One time gift: There are many ways to help; pick a gift amount that works best for you and give children and families the tools to live happy, healthy lives.
