Services
When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic, you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service. We at Batavia Animal Clinic have assembled an expert team of Veterinary Professionals to bring your pet the best possible care. Our well established, professional veterinary facility is clean, comfortable, and efficient.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. 3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
If you're thinking of getting a pet fish, you should know that your veterinarian has a lot of good advice about pet ownership. Fish can be very rewarding as pets, and you just may be surprised about how much fish actually interact with their owners. Thanks to advancements in veterinary care, today's cats can live well into their teen years.
Veterinary care is crucial and effective for a wide variety of conditions. The following is a partial list of some of the most common. If you do not see your pet's specific condition listed, we encourage you to give us a call so we can personally address your particular concerns.
The most common type of arthritis is osteoarthritis which can be due to wear and tear on joints from over use, aging, injury, or from an unstable joint such as which occurs with a ruptured ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in the knee.Leptospirosis is a serious, life-threatening disease caused by a spiral shaped bacteria.

Over 85% of dogs and cats have some type of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease simply means that the gums and bone that hold the teeth in place are being destroyed by oral bacteria. This preventable disease is the number one diagnosed disease in our pets, yet many animals suffer needlessly. Bloat and gastric torsion is a serious condition and your pet should be rushed to the emergency room if this occurs.

Dr. Shanding is caring and competent vet. He treats both my dogs that are in the final stages of cancer. He has been patient, understanding and compassionate with both dogs. I recommend the Batavia Animal Clinic to anyone seeking great vets with an attentive and helpful staff.

Dr Kirsten gave the most gentle and thorough exam to my 9 year old lab! I had changed clinics because I felt the other was a cash machine. No kindness, just about adding services. So happy I found her. I would pay twice as much for this place. I even saw them extend credit for someone in need. A truly caring group.

I just adopted my dog and he is very scared of new people. The people at Batavia Animal Clinic are SO patient and kind and take things very slow to make sure Cheeko is comfortable. I cannot express how much that means to me and my pup!

This is the first vet clinic I took my pup too cause of all the positive reviews. Then I started branching out to ones closer too me but when it came to my pup and a suspicion of ear infection I brought her here. The nurses are always super nice and welcoming and it makes me want to come back 🐶🐶🐶 and for my first visit they gave me a referral card for a free first visit and we ended up using it for our Siamese kitten 🐱 so definitely recommend to come here.

This has been my go to place to take my dog Tails since we first adopted her eight years ago. Only reason we stopped going for three years was because we moved to the city. As soon as we moved back we were going right back here for all of Tails regular shots. The staff here are always gentle with my dog & patient with her especially with her recently becoming blind a year ago she is now scared of new voices. Whenever Tails needs her nails trimmed they always get us in and any concerns I ever have they are always quick to get us in or give me a professional answer to give me piece of mind. I

We've used this clinic for the last three years for our dog after they let us walk-in for last minute vaccines. Dr. Adam is professional, patient and caring. As our dog Champ was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Adam educated us to the prognosis, explained our options, and really allowed us to make the best decision for our dog and family. When it was time to take Champ to the Great Beyond, Dr. Kirsten's steady professionalism and extreme empathy was so appreciated. Their motto is where they treat pets like family but I feel that they really treat you as family as well. Thank you, Batavia Animal

I'm torn on this review because I personally liked the staff and Dr however my dog felt otherwise and what was a red flag to me.. My dog LOVED our previous vet - I would take him every time I had to pick up heartgard and he was happy to go and would sit and wait for the staff to come out and say hi to him so when I brought him here for a new patient exam and he kept trying to run out the door, it really bothered me..
For that reason, I probably will not be bringing him back but I have nothing negative to say about the staff or care.

Dr Schanding is amazing! I drive 40 minutes to see him (he was our previous vet but moved- thank God for google). I love that when I come in he greets me but then immediately gets down on the floor and greets my furbabies. It means so much to me that he is hands on with them and takes the time to explain everything that he is doing. He will not oversell services that aren't necessary. I completely trust him and will do anything he recommends because I know he has their best interests at heart. His staff is so nice! Since its so far of a drive I have to bring all the non-furbabies with me

We recently adopted 2 cats from H.E.L.P. We were told to register with a vet to record their previously received rabies shots and start files. We were also told to inquire, as many vets offer a free intake exam for newly adopted pets. As is our usual practice, we try to support local businesses, so we were eager to contact Batavia Animal Clinic. Imagine our disappointment to find that they would only provide the free intake for 1 animal, offering a discounted exam at $39.00 for the 2nd cat! These are cats that have already been screened, spayed, chipped and up to date on shots and meds before

We take both of our cats and our corgi here for check-ups. I've been pretty happy with the service and care I've gotten for all of our animals. The staff is always super friendly and professional. My only gripe is that the prices they charge are kind of steep, but honestly, it's cheaper than a kid, so I can't complain too much.
The facility is a little on the small side and parking is difficult. You can park in the lot next to the liquor store or a little past the clinic, going towards Water Street.

Actually the rating should be negative 5. This place is a complete rip-off. They overcharged me by adding extra lab fees and meds that I didn't ask for. When I brought my bill in to discuss the charges, they were rude and refused to hear me. I compared their prices to other clinics and they were much higher. I will never go back
