El Maguey

Went to the bar for some shots of tequila. Ran into a top notch bartender that poured top shelf all night. 5 star rating on her skills and looks. Oh, the restaurant is good too. But I’ll go back for Christine.

Planning on moving to Moncks Corner, so we've been checking out the restaurants. Well El Maguey is quite the find. The food was exceptional, very good, tons of flavor, spiced just tight, large portions, multiple options for salsa, & hot, fresh chips. In addition, the place is very clean & spacey. No cramped tables & open access to all seats. Finally, & best of all, the service is outstanding!!! Provided additional napkins without asking. Chips never ran out. Drinks refilled without ever going empty. Food delivered & waitress remained attentive to us. She wasn't hovering over us, but was a timely

The service was okay, I think our waiter may have been confused as he mixed up which salsa was mild vs hot and brought out unsweetened tea instead of sweet tea. He was very nice otherwise. The food was okay, very onion and pepper heavy for the shredded chicken in my enchiladas which took away from the flavors of the mole sauce. Otherwise a nice experience!

They must have recently revamped their menu to appeal more to typical Americans because it seems like everything is covered in a cheese sauce so not as healthy as it could be. Everything is delicious, just really heavy and I'm trying to eat better so can't go as often as I'd like.

The service and staff was great. The food was also really good. The price was what we expected and we felt it was worth it. Definitely recommend!

Just moved to the area. I can already see that I will be frequenting El Maguey!!👍 Food is more than plenty and absolutely delicious! Several flavors of Margaritas. Texas Dip is.... SOOO good!!!

Went here for my birthday this year. Everything was pretty good. Do wish my tacos had had more toppings on it but were still decent. Service was good. Just wish I could of gotten a frozen margarita but hopefully next time.

El maguey is my weekly go to! Amazing food! Amazing people! 10/10 recommend!

Parking is big. Servers are very nice and attentive. Food is fairly priced and very good at the same time. A big wall between the bar and the family tables which is great, cause some people do not want to hear drunk people ranting about their lives. Lol!

I have been searching for a place that my husband and I can could frequent as our weekly Mexican food and this place is definitely my husband and I's favorite Mexican restaurant that is in the Moncks corner/Summerville area. Great service, good salsa, good food, and clean. It's also decorated nicely and the booths make you feel like you are isolated and can have a conversation even with music and crowds. We will definitely be visiting again!

Eating in is fine. Calling in orders is a real pain. Workers need to learn the menu. Every time I call an order in they tell me a plate I always get they don't have it on the menu. Please make workers learn the menu. Alphonso kept this place in order. Bring him back.

My whole family has been coming to this place for several years now, and let me just say we love the food. They have definitely gotten better ver the years. I always get the Texas dip with shrimp in the side! However my family always gets something different each time. Staff is usually very friendly and they are kid friendly. We will keep on coming back.

The food here is good but honestly we have gotten sick twice after eating here so we have not been back in a while. Both times the thing we had in common was the salsa. They have really good steak here and taco Tuesday specials.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Monckscorner my food always come out at a timely manner and everything is always fresh !

Fabulous little find when we weren't even necessarily looking. Authentic food, aesthetic and service! Churros and Al Pastor plate a must! Plus Taco Tuesday-$3 for 3 Tacos?! A WIN!

Was staying in area overnight for work. Saw this place on my way in. Good looking place. Could be a little brighter on inside but most folks probably like it that way. I ordered the Pinapple fajitas. It was good. It was cool looking coming in a half pineapple bowl. There were two salsas spicey or mild. The spicie was mild, the mild? Well it's just less then mild. All in all good experience.

Food is great, tasty usually. But it's inconsistent. Some days are better than others. They get a little over excited with salt at times.
The service could use some improvement. They are friendly, but slow and not very attentive. It is difficult to go there and get out sometimes within an hour.

Three times in, three times a win. Toniguy was pollo mole, which is the test dish for me. Mole can be tricky not to come out chalky or bitter, ans the Maguey nailed it. I can tell the place is popular, but seating is quick and prices are reasonable, with generous portions. Oh, and they serve horchata, which is another big plus for me.

Was really bad. It didn't smell great on the outside it was the dumpsters.. we walk inside and it still didn't smell that great it smelt funky. We gave it a chance anyway
We were seated the waitress was okay.. not really upbeat just kinda monotoned. The food arrived and it wasn't good the chips were stale and tasted old. The dip was greasy. The tortilla wrap was stale. My avocados were brown... to top this off a random waitress walked by our table and gave me the death look and stared me down

Yummy. Love the food here. I visit from Texas and this is some of the best mexican food I've ever eaten. Always great service too and prices are reasonable.
Used to eat at La Hacienda on Rivers-No bueno.

My food was pretty good, not the best but not the worst.

My friends has chicken fajitas and they looked pretty good.

We had a group of 8 and had to sit at 2 tables with a two foot gap... not the best way to hold a meeting.

We will look for other options for next month.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went here. I wasn't expecting half as much food as I got, and I wasn't expecting the food to be as fantastic as it was. The quesadilla is one of the best I have ever had, and the ranchero sauce was to die for. The staff was so-so, but overall a great experience. I look forward to go back next time I am in town.
