We specialize in a 360° approach to physical therapy and performance optimization that combines manual treatment to get you out of pain and a customized plan of care to progress and strengthen your whole body. Emphasis on YOUR body. Our physical therapists and performance specialists will evaluate how your entire body moves to pinpoint the root cause of your pain, fix it and prevent it from coming back.
Been to PT before and it didn't work? We get it. There are a lot of watered-down practitioners in big-box clinics phoning it in, beholden to insurance companies. That's not what PT should be, and it's absolutely not who we are.

It was a gut-wrenching blow to realize that after nine years of earning a Doctorate, pursuing a prestigious fellowship and killing myself to become the top physical therapist in New York City that I wouldn't be able to help my patients to the best of my ability. Something had to change. I wanted to do exactly what I knew was right for my patients.
If you have questions, we have answers. Call or text our Upper East Side clinic at (212) 203-6802 to discuss your goals, what's keeping you up at night, and which PT is right for you. We'll gladly look into your insurance benefits for you, too. If we don't pick up, it's not personal. Just means we're giving the athlete on our table our A-game, probably running roughshod on a stubborn IT band.
There's no JV squad here. Meet the physical therapists who will put you back together again, and the team who will help make it happen. Entrepreneur and healthcare innovator Dr. Joshua Grahlman, PT, DPT, FAFS is on a mission to make a distinctive difference in the caliber of care athletes of all levels receive, and to disrupt the status quo of the physical therapy industry.
Our Upper East Side clinic is OPEN for one-on-one treatments in a private setting. But we also offer virtual consultations and performance training so we can work with you wherever you are. While we are firm believers in the benefits of manual therapy in accelerating recovery, we can still deliver our knowledge and skills to you virtually.
We want your entire appointment time to be about YOU, not forms. Either fill them out and bring them with you, or email them back to FixMe@ClutchPT.com. We'll have printed copies ready for you to John Hancock at your appointment. You will have our undivided attention, which may need to be directed at you from all angles, so dress comfortably.

I've been seeing Ray for almost two months now, weekly. I had a nagging pain in my leg that prevented me from sleeping at night, which has been close to completely alleviated in the short time we've been working together. Ray is smart, thorough and a pleasure to be around. I'd recommend him and Clutch PT to anyone looking to rehabilitate from an injury.

I've thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from my sessions with Ray over the past couple months for shoulder and hamstring problems. When I initially reached out in January I spoke to Julie via email and over the phone, and she was immensely helpful in figuring out whether my insurance would cover sessions. Unfortunately my insurance did not cover the cost, but Clutch offered a nice five-pack that helped to reduce the per session cost. Ray did a thorough evaluation during our first session and I felt he really understood my mechanics and the reasons why I was experiencing the pains I had. He

Clutch is a wonderful practice. I've been seeing Ray, and the best part of the practice is that they see you one-on-one, and don't just treat the symptoms. The push is to alleviate pain, keep it from happening again, and that means checking out what has been impacted as your body adapted to protect itself. The time may be longer than other PT places, but I know that I'm less likely to re-injure myself in the same way.

These guys are very helpful and knowledgeable! I came in with a foot problem that they addressed in the first session giving me tools and and advice how to help myself and what to do!
I appreciate that! Being in fitness industry myself i know from the start when people know what they are talking about in terms of body and recovery
Highly recommend these guys

Everyone at Clutch PT played a huge part in my success at the NY Marathon a couple weeks ago. I came in from California dealing with some glute and hamstring issues and I was referred to Josh to help me after my long flight.. I saw him twice before the race and then saw Ray after the race and I cant thank them both of enough for helping me get to that starting line in great shape and helping the recovery process. Josh gave me special stretches to help pre- race and even some quick tips on activating glutes once I got in the corals. They are so wonderful!!! I wish I lived closer!

I’ve been working with Clutch PT (specifically Dr. James Sinodinos) since August.
I had made the decision to begin physical therapy because of foot and knee pain that I had developed at the start of training for my first marathon. However, from poor experiences with other physical therapy clinics (think assembly line), it was very important to me that I got to work with one individual consistently and one who had experience with other runners. I compared the websites of multiple clinics and found that Clutch stood out to me because their mission statement acknowledged relatable frustrations

I love the staff, the energy, and the place! I highly recommend Clutch PT. They are very easy to communicate with both in person and over the phone. I had no issues making an appointment and getting my insurance approved. Lauren at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind. Thank you , Clutch PT:)

Highly recommend Clutch PT! Their team is so knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. There's no one else that I would've trusted more to prepare me for my first full marathon this year. As a result, my mile time decreased and I noticed more muscle in my arms and legs. Not only did Dr. James prepare me for the race months in advance by strength training, but he also took care of me afterwards with the muscle I pulled during the race. Working with them has been the most pleasant PT I've ever experienced!

Dr Burtman is the best! I'm a fitness instructor myself as well as an avid runner, and went to her with a little help on posterior tib tendiopathy. She listened to me, answered my questions, and explained what was happening in a way that not only made sense, but actually helped me help others in my career.
She's super available to answer questions and gave me a comprehensive plan of attack to get back running ASAP. THANKS LEXI!!!!

Dr. Joshua Grahlman has built a boutique physical therapy clinic that prioritizes patients and athletes above everything else. I primarily work with Dr. Jane Ignatova. I'm a running addict! Jane has worked extensively on my left hip, allowing me to comfortably train and complete marathons in my mid-forties. I love the Clutch approach to an office visit which always includes a quick status check, a thorough and uninterrupted period of manual manipulation, followed by stretching and exercises. Jane is working with me now to recover from a multi-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion

I had never been t a physical therapist before, I didn't think it would help. I had been told I may need a hip replacement, (had severe back pain also) and so i went. Not only did Josh help with my hip which is now a thousand times better , he taught me how to stretch and has really minimized my lower back pain. On top of that, he was able to identify an injury- which I also thought was chronic - and helped me work out over one session. He was also very straightforward ain that when i improved he did not try to get me to have or pay for more sessions rather he acknowledged I probably did

I decided to go to Clutch and right away I knew I was in good hands. Jane is a great PT, she really helped me through therapy. After the first week or so I already saw a difference in my shoulder and was in a significantly less amount of pain. She showed me difference exercises I could do at home and after 6 weeks with Jane I can say I have little to no shoulder pain. Thank you!

Josh is by far the best physical therapist I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot). I have been dealing with back pain for so long that I figured it was just something I'd live with forever. For the first time in years, I am not in pain and I feel 15 years younger. He quickly identified the issues contributing to my pain and within weeks I had significant relief. Many of the stretches were brand new to me and immediately helped. The exercises are critical and he is a perfectionist. He won't leave you with an assistant to oversee any part of your session. Knowledgable, talented and fairly priced physical therapist.
I have all sorts of joint and muscle issues, and I've been to lots of physical therapist over the years. None has helped me as much as Josh with stretching and strengthening my shoulders, hips, legs and back. He knows his stuff.
He even helped a triathlete get back in the game, despite the man's having almost given up because no prior PT had ever been able to address his issues.
Even if Josh is not on your insurance plan, it's worth the money for him to assess you and give you a game plan you can follow at home.

Clutch...Josh...is the hands down the best! I should know, I've been in and out of PT for years. Josh's evaluation of me was spot on. Subsequently all the exercises he gave me were also just what I needed. He worked on my shoulder, my hip, my neck, & my foot! There isn't a body part he hasn't helped! Don't hesitate to come to Clutch!

This past June I suffered a debilitating inversion sprain to my ankle playing basketball when I landed on someone's foot following a leap for a rebound. I had sprains before from basketball and usually bounced back quickly. I tried doing my own workouts and three months later I had made no progress and was still unable to jog/jump. I had never felt so limited athletically in all my years of running track, playing ball, and working out at the gym. I finally decided that I was in need of a professional. I did some research and got some great reviews from others who had been to Clutch PT and
