Sun N Sand Resort
We're so proud to have been voted one of the top places to stay 5 years running on TripAdvisor.com! Come discover Sun 'n Sand Resort for yourself, including our salt water pool with adjacent bathhouse, Beach-by-the-Pond sandbox, waterfall, firepits, volleyball, and more - all located less than 2 miles from all that downtown South Haven and it's beaches and shopping have to offer!

Our historic resort hotel rooms may be the focal point, but it's our team who really make the stay in South Haven an amazing experience. Our entire mission is centered on you, our guest. We want you to truly feel like you've been welcomed, taken care of, and rested!
Services
South Haven Michigan hotels don't get much more historic than Sun 'n Sand Resort. The resort features 37 guest rooms in three separate lodging buildings. Since 2011, all buildings have either been refreshed or remodeled, and we've built a brand new saltwater pool, bathhouse, party deck and snack bar.
What a great place this is. Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) recently spent 3 days here, and wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed in the Beach building on the ground floor. The rooms are very clean, simple, and painted in a light and airy color scheme. Beds are very comfy. The hardwood floors add a lot of ambience.
Sun 'n Sand Resort is one of the most unique South Haven wedding venues, set up as one campus-style location for your wedding (like in the movie Dirty Dancing)! When you choose Sun 'n Sand Resort for your South Haven wedding venue, you in essence "own" the resort. We reserve the whole place just for you (31 rooms, plus all grounds, fire pits, saltwater pool, and more).
What if you could own a resort for a weekend? For just the cost of the rooms (which each guest pays), you can have the perfect wedding hotel room block at Sun 'n Sand Resort! We know that most hotels don't even really want to block out hotel rooms for a wedding, since they usually fill up anyway. At Sun 'n Sand, we LOVE wedding parties, and have created a special wedding hotel room block package just for you!
South Haven Michigan (SoHa to our friends) is a hotbed of happenings, especially during the busy summer season! There are quite a few things to in South Haven Michigan. South Haven events, festivals, restaurants, wineries, and other attractions are just the start. Since we love all of the things to do in South Haven Michigan we keep our site up to date with the latest South Haven events and attractions.

We stayed two nights at Sun n Sand Resort for a quick getaway in October. It's basic accommodation and perfectly acceptable for the cost. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. All the sights of South Haven are easily accessible from the motel, it's pet-friendly, clean, and convenient. Just as long as you're not expecting luxury, it's a great place to stay.

The whole resort needs to be renovated. Our Room was dirty. Beds are very uncomfortable , Heat did not work, we had to go and buy towels, towels smelled and had stains all over them.

I have to give the Sun n Sand Resort a great review based on our circumstances and how this quirky hotel with generous grounds became the nucleus of our sons wedding event. The entire wedding party and out of town guest booked nearly every room so everyone was able to comfortably mingle and get to know each other before the big wedding event. The pool area was large enough to handle our imposing group plus other very patient guest and the key really became the fire pit area as this allowed the bonding to carry on into the night. Most memorable was post wedding around the fire when everyone described

Do not stay here! It's very deceiving from the website. Dirty, terrible mattress. There was food left under the sink from someone else's stay! It's falling apart. Our door would stick, then the blinds would come down! No place to put your clothes, suitcase. No shampoo and an open soap! I wouldn't even give it a star! I pray I didn't bring any bugs home! It was not cheap either.

We really wanted to enjoy our quick 2 nights as a place to sleep while we were working a wedding in town. I am a wedding planner with a VERY aggressive schedule over the weekend. All I required was a place to get some much needed sleep after working intense 18 hour days on Friday & Saturday. The rooms are nothing like the photos. I knew it would be tiny but not THAT tiny. My college dorm room was bigger. Regardless of the size, we were just there to sleep. We went out and bought new pillows, coffee supplies & toiletries since there is none in the room
During our stay on Friday night, we

As someone in customer service, I HATE leaving bad reviews... But this place was gross. Bathroom was dirty with spider webs on walls and on back of toilet. Window unit A/C dusty and spitting fluff. Bugs EVERYWHERE and smashed bugs all over walls and ceiling. My MIL was gracious enough to purchase this room for us to stay in South Haven for a family wedding for two nights or we would have been out the door instantly. Office closes at 11pm, but we go to get ice at 10:15pm and attendant "left for the night". I would strongly suggest paying a little more for a better place down the road. The ONLY reason

I normally do not write reviews but I want to make sure nobody wastes their money like we did. I reserved one room for two nights for my wedding. The photos on the website do not show how dirty the rooms are. We ended up only staying the one night.

As soon as we checked in we knew it was too good to be true. These people are deceiving guests into spending money for rooms not worth more than $50. The hotel crew must have good cameras, because the pictures on the website are great but in person this motel (not resort) is terrible and dirty. We got our money back. Or at least part of it. Moral of the story. Don’t go here

This is a basic motor-lodge like motel, with nicer grounds than a normal motel. It has a pool, fire pits, pond, volleyball court, forested area, and is both close to South Haven but still off the beaten path.
If it was labeled a motel- five stars, but as a resort- three.

My family stopped here by happy accident. We loved it, the pool had nice amenities, there's a lovely little lake to sit by, a large field with fire rings and free fire wood, and a network of trails to explore in the back woods. Also very comfy beds. Highly recommend.

Would NOT recommend. The air conditioner was EXTREMELY loud. Was difficult to to sleep with it on. The pillow was awful, the sheets do not stay on bed. There is no table/chairs in rooms to eat. Again, a very bad experience. 👎

This is an Amazing Fantastic place. With a beautiful spot like the pond with a heart shaped back porch swing nice fire place spots if you want to have a camp fire. A giant field if you have yard games you would like to play also a beautiful path in nature to walk through from one end of the property to the other!. A beautiful warm saltwater pool! An amazing place to come for just the weekend getaway either with or without kids. Also a wonderful place to stay at for the week if you chose. Or you could book the whole resort for a party or wedding.

We had a wonderful stay and got to meet the owners, as they were very accommodating. We had a great time in this safe and woodsy location. Just far enough from town to be very quiet and restful. Great place to bring family and they allow pets.

We've been regulars at Sun and Sand, visiting with our families for years. We've seen many owners come and go, as well as changes at this beautiful throwback property. This past visit, we noticed all the updates, refreshing of the property and accommodating staff. We were so happy to see all this. The property is beautiful, new beds are comfortable, clean rooms, new outdoor chairs and close to walking trails/beaches. Well done S&S!

We have been going to South Haven for years. This trip was going to be a weekend trip so we didn't rent a VRBO but instead stayed here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We needed up booking an extra night but had to change rooms and they went out of their way to make sure our new room was cleaned immediately so we could get resettled. Both the rooms we had were clean. They are older but they were clean. The refrigerators did not work the best and every room is set up differently so you won't know what you are getting until you get there. The photos on the website must

I booked this room using AirB&B, and this is not the room that was advertised to me. When we arrived we were very disappointed. When we finally got to our room it looked like it was a different room than in the pictures. It was dirty, the floorboards are rotting away, there are gaps in between the door/windows and the wall which offer no privacy. To make things worse when we pulled back the bedsheets there were several spiders living in our bed. We made it about 10 minutes in this room before deciding ultimately to go and stay somewhere else.

First off, the resort is wonderfully located in a quiet place, yet easily accessible to all the fun spots including Mcintosh Orchards.

Secondly, the facility has got unique historic features with a quaint lake and vast yard. That being said, it is not as new as all the glass buildings or corporate lodging spots. But for folks who enjoy a low-maintenance stay close to nature, it was perfect.

Thirdly. The staff were just great. I realized I messed up my booking WHILE driving to the facility. Upon hearing our situation, they promptly extended their hands and our vacation was saved, albeit a very

The staff here were very kind, helpful and friendly. Bob, Ken, Ampy and everyone else who works here are super helpful. We rented out the place for our wedding weekend and they did a wonderful job prepping and taking care of our needs. The pool was the biggest hit and everyone had a blast hanging out there and grilling. The grounds were well kept and really beautiful. I really would love to give 5 stars since the staff and the grounds were amazing, but due to just a few issues I'm leaving a 4. (Electricity issues in a few rooms and a few rooms had ants/other little flying bugs). I look forward

Sun n Sand is bringing back a lovely resort from the past. (If you prefer corporate lodgings, this is not your place.)
The rooms are lovingly restored and clean; the grounds are manicured and gorgeous. I love the bullfrogs in the pond and the lilacs everywhere. The saltwater pool and the event space make it a good spot for a group.
Staff and owners are hardworking and very accomodating. Keep supporting this business. We have come back each year and are watching the changes.

STAY AWAY!! I can't even give this hotel a true 1-Star. My sister booked this hotel for a family reunion and blocked 16 rooms. Each room was $162 plus tax and came out to $205. I've travelled around the world and this hotel is worst than staying at a hotel in a 3rd world country. Bugs were in several of our rooms, hair on the floors, pee stains on the mattress. The rooms are dirty and not well maintained. Worst part is that my mother who is 91 years old had to go up a long flight of stairs when she has a disability and cannot walk. One of the employees had to help by carrying

Nice place! Waterfall is very nice but grasses need to be trimmed as it hides the waterfall. Very nice amenities, hammocks and fire pits with chairs and they provide fire starter and wood, which is very nice! We've stayed her in the past and enjoyed the salt water pool, but this year there is NO water heater. ..water is very cold. Bummed because the lake is freezing right now and with no pool heater you can't really enjoy this pool either. Even tho its July, except to take a quick dip.
Not fancy but reasonably priced. Heard rumor it has new owners, maybe that's the reason

It ain't the Ritz, that's for sure! It's rather quaint...read...small, but a charming "resort" nonetheless.

Initially, I tried emailing to request a reservation for a 4 person room. Took more than two days to get a response that they didn't have any for the dates I was interested. Then I called about two weeks later with different dates. Over the phone was much more helpful and they were quite pleasant, turns out. Here's my small caveat. I asked about the room for four because in pictures it almost looked like a suite and I had planned on sharing said suite

I wish I could leave 0 stars, but the minimum is 1. This is a small resort ran by a bunch of hillbillies. I made a reservation (request) which states they will get back to me if there was availability. They instead charged my credit card in full instead of contacting me.

I cancelled in plenty of time, and they still did not refund.
This place has horrible reviews. If you are looking for a fun/relaxing get away, it is not here. They will steal you blind.

When I asked the front desk lady debra what her managers first and last name was, she didn't even know how to spell it.
