I first encountered David in 2010 during a difficult home inspection on my current home, which was bank owned at the time. His report I often referred back to over the years because it was so thorough. David's calm nature got me through yet another inspection in 2021 where I got out of a disappointing situation. Not all inspectors are as comprehensive nor do they explain/talk to you as they're going through the home. I highly recommend.

Dave is by far the most professional and knowledgeable inspector that I have ever encountered. His superior experience and calming presence is exactly what I needed as I was going through the often hectic and stressful home buying process. Not only did he find everything that could have been an issue in my home, he did an extremely thorough job explaining and teaching exactly what he was doing, which was a great help to a first-time homeowner like myself. I would not hesitate to recommend Dave to anyone who needs an inspection!

Dave was absolutely the best. I had no idea about anything house related before my home inspection with him. He was very thorough. He explained everything he did as he was doing it, to tell me what he was checking for while simultaneously teaching me how to care for my (hopefully) new home. He was very straightforward and reasonable about the condition of everything without scaring this first time buyer. He told me what absolutely needs to be replaced, what can wait, and what he would personally do but isn't necessary. And on top of it all, he was a joy to be around. He kept the mood light to calm

We used Dave for our home inspection and he was great! I'll never look at a home the same way again. I learned so much walking through the house with him. He was thorough, but practical regarding the severity of what he found. He gave me a lot of things to look out for in the future, even if we don't make them part of our deal with the seller. I'm confident not only in his findings, but his recommendations as well. We could not be happier.

I would venture to guess this negative review was written by a disgruntled seller (or realtor), who lost their deal because Mr. Whittle at Coast is so good at what he does. I happen to be a local roofing contractor who has worked with Dave on inspections, and also hired him at least 4 times personally for home inspections for both myself and my son, and he is simply the best-of-the-best. No generic check-the-boxes report with him....he does a long and thorough inspection, and gives his client every shred of information needed to make the best decision about their home purchase. I know from 35 years
