Scott is an excellent teacher. The Yin Class is very helpful to stretch and strengthen. Scott explains the target areas and matches Movement with Breath.
The class is peaceful allowing awareness to go inward.
I very much like this class and highly recommend it.

I have been searching for a new studio and am so relieved to have found Yoga Tree! The space and staff are very inviting. I've practiced with several instructors and have enjoyed them all! It's the first studio I've found in Chicago that feels like a community.

The space is pleasant with lots of props on hand to assist in the session. The teacher was lovely and lead a well paced and well balanced class.

Having recently moved to the neighborhood, I wanted to love this studio. But the noise from neighboring businesses ruins it for me. There is loud music from the bar next door and weights heavily dropping on the floor of the gym upstairs. Overall makes the whole experience less than zen and beyond that, rather unpleasant. I need to practice yoga in the evening after work, so perhaps if you are able to attend classes during the day, the atmosphere would be better.

Every experience I have at Yoga Tree has been fantastic. Whether a class or event, it is always filled with great people and well thought out. I like that the space is small enough to be intimate but not crowded and has a peaceful energy. You can feel the shift when you walk through the door from the busy world outside.

There is gym people and there is gym haters. I am in the second category. I dislike the cold stone faces of the gym people and their high ego need to show their "perfect" physical attributes. So I prefer the down to earth yoga with sensitive caring people mastering the ego. Having this company mixing both is a red flag plus adding a very expensive fee to join in is a dead deal. Good by you are a rotten tree. I am staying far away from you.

Justine Gianandrea is a treasure of a yoga instructor.

She mindfully sets up the room with soft light and soothing mediative music.

Justine asks each student how they are then perhaps suggests a pose that might help.

Her 8am Saturday class is a destination for me and I look forward to her class all week.

A fluent, well directed 90 minute Vinyasa Flow yoga class awaits her students.

Justine is truly a gift! The benefits I gain from each class is immeasurable.

Attending her class is highly suggested!

I tried out the new student special, as a test to see if I could commit to a daily-ish (4-6x per week) practice, and it worked! I needed a studio that offered early morning classes and, as a bonus, I discovered the awesomeness that is Alyson Green. She teaches Ashtanga yoga, which I'd only heard about from afar as being a very physical, and intimidating, form of yoga. Alyson makes it really approachable while still challenging students to deepen their practice by offering plenty of modifications. She is super encouraging, offers awesome adjustments during class, and I look forward to waking

After an extended hiatus, I wanted to get back into a regular practice of yoga, especially as my back had been stiff for a few weeks. I signed up for a noon vinyasa class on a random day off, hoping to find a new studio for regular practice. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and explained poses so clearly that I finally understood what I had not been doing correctly for a couple of years. Her explanations were on target and she offered adjustments when needed. In addition, I appreciated the consistent reminders to focus on breath, which is sometimes lost when you're so intent

I've been attending classes at Yoga Tree for a little over a year now. I try to do one class every day. Over time, I've discovered I "take" to some instructors more than others, but they are all fantastic, knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated. Yes, the noise from Cheetah or the street can become distracting, but you are practicing in a big city on a main street, so the noise (literally) comes with the territory. As another reviewer mentioned, it can push me to focus more deeply on the practice. Give Yoga Tree a try and see if it's for you. With the $29/ 2 week induction

Solid, challenging class with inversions which I have had a hard time finding in Chicago. Chrissy gave good alignment cues and adjustments. Check out her noon class!

Yoga tree studio comfortable, calm, and peaceful environment. I am taking 2 weeks introductory special and going there every day. I am trying out different classes. 3-4 different classes are scheduled daily at different time so I could pick a class to fit my schedule. I like all instructors; all of them are nice . My favorite classes are Tantric Vinyasa Yoga, Forrest, and Vinyasa 60. After the class, I can feel very relaxed, and surrounded by positive energy.

I've checked out my fair share of yoga studios... Bikram, LA Fitness, etc and can hands down say that Yoga tree is the place to be. The staff and teachers are knowledgeable and great to work with. This class allows you to deepen your yoga practice without being intimidated and nervous. Beginner to Expert, every class is perfect. Lances class is best. Keely and Chrissys classes are also fantastic. Oh, and then theres Nicks class. Point is - you cant go wrong. All instructors are out of this world!

While some reviews talk about the class being too small and narrow, I can say that while

Overall, I like this place.

They have a special deal for new visitors, which I took advantage of and for a week, I went to about 5-6 classes. They offer classes at a good variety of time. Also, the classes vary too, which is really nice. The teaches really seemed to stay true to the style, which I appreciate.

One of the negatives is that it is way too narrow. When there are two rows facing each other, you actually bump fingertips/hands. It would be so much better if it were just a few feet wider. I can see that parking may be an issue, but I have only ridden my bike. It is also very loud, which

Yoga Tree is such a wonderful studio. I started my yoga experience with Core Power (which is also a lovely studio). If you want a great workout thats the place to go. Yoga Tree gives a great workout but also emphasizes the spiritual essence of Yoga.

The range of teachers and classes vary. You can find the perfect beginner class to ease you into yoga or take on a Vinyasa class that'll challenge you mentally and physically. Lance is one of my favorite teachers there. Check it out!
