I'm so glad we found Sparta 2 years ago when I started my oldest daughter (at 5 years). This is the real deal where the dojang and instructors (Master Uy, Master Hoh, Ms. Maria, all the coaches) teach more than just physical defense moves, but really champion Respect along with perseverance courtesy, integrity, self control and indomitable spirit (the 5 tenants) and provide a positive and safe environment for kids to learn how much they can accomplish. There is also no easy way to earn the next belt level. I enjoy watching how my child has developed life skills and of course defense techniques

My 5 year old and now 4 year old are doing the Tiny Titan class. It has been great esply during covid.

For the tiny titans, the kids are spaced, the class size is small, everyone wears mask, the facility is clean. I do not feel concerned with COVID, they really are very conscious of it. Everyone's temp is checked at the door, handsanitzer everyone. They require the kids to "wash" before going in and out of the mat. Kids must wear mask at all times and be well spaced.

Shout out to Coach Kyle, Coach Ken and Asst Coaches Kobe and Karina. They really are wonderful with the kids

This place has a wonderful coaching staff. They teach respect for oneself and others. My child comes out of class happy and sweaty as it's a good workout! The word of the week is a nice addition. I can't wait until they're in the new location in the Shadelands Ultimate Field House.

Sparta is not just a martial art school, it is a school who teach you team work, discipline and how to be a better person. Master Uy treat everyone like family and all the teachers teach your kid like their children. My son love it so much, even more than video game, hard to believe. This is the best martial art school.

This review is ten years in the making, and I would give Sparta five stars for every single year - or ten if I could.

All my children, three of whom are over 21 now, worked really hard to get their black belts in TaeKwonDo through Sparta. All of them made wonderful friends, and learned a few precious things that have life-long benefits: integrity, humility, perseverance, and respect for themselves and their fellow human beings.

Our experience at Sparta includes competing in tournaments, though this is totally optional. We were inspired to attend many in-state, out-of-state and national tournaments

I began taekwondo almost 2 years ago, and while I do not have the experience most of the other senior students and instructors have, there has never been a moment where I felt I do not belong. The classes here are unmatched by any other studio I have had the opportunity to train at. Everybody is committed to improving one another's skills and techniques, which creates an all-around motivating and positive environment for growth in not only physical ability, but also mental strength and emotional maturity.

Everybody should practice martial arts - you can start whenever and wherever. But

Sparta is not just only a great place to learn Taekwondo, it is also the best school in the Bay Area to learn discipline, respect, confidence to over come your weakness and become a true champion in life. Our son has joined the school since he was 8 and under the coaching of Master Uy, Master Andrew and Master Go, he has become a great competitor participating in tournaments at State and National level.

Sparta Taekwondo is a great place to learn and practice taekwondo. They provide a welcoming environment to new members and the level of instruction is top notch in both poomsae and in sparring. Before Sparta, I had lost most of my interest in taekwondo and saw it mostly as a minor hobby that I didn't mind going back to once in awhile. But that has changed and I've become more passionate about taekwondo than I have ever been. When I first walked into the school, my impression of the classes was somewhat nostalgic. It took me back a couple years to when I trained in Chuncheon Korea for

We love Sparta! My daughter has never been super athletic or competitive, but I wanted her to find something active she can do. I signed her up at Sparta over a year ago because I had read great things about taekwondo and this was the closest place to us. She was reluctant to try something new, but as her two week trial came to an end she was really enjoying it so we enrolled and she has been going ever since. She has made great friends there and really loves the instructors. I have stayed and watched the class and their ability to blend discipline and respect into a fun, learning experience is

It's very frustrating to get signed up in this place. It's been over a month since I signed up in their website and left several voicemails on their phone and NO ONE attempted to give me a courtesy and return my call. Now another school is getting my business. BE WARNED!

My son started their Tiny Titan program as a 4yo and he loves Tae Kwon Do and Sparta. He's been doing TKD for over a year now and developing a passion for TKD. Any time a place helps your kid find his passion, well, you have to give 5 stars.

My two boys ( 6 and 8 years) take Tae Kwon Do here in the Rocco's shopping center(behind Toyo Sushi). I really recommend the place. It's family run and the coaches care a lot about developing each student's character. Their efforts show in how the older students encourage the younger ones.
There are many girls taking Tae Kwon Do here. They are currently offering a 2 week trial(they're open every day of the week) for $19.95.

I couldn't be more pleased with what TKD has done for our daughter and it's all due to the caring and supportive staff. I agree with earlier writers--they do it for the love of the sport and it's application to the building up of each individual. They are committed to hard work and the accomplishment of their students and what that does for the individual from the inside out. Lots of satisfaction here--and they have fun at the same time! Feels like family.

My 8 year old son LOVES THIS PLACE! He has been training here for two years now and he just simply can't get enough. This is his second home as we fondly say. Sparta instills diligence, hard work and respect, a trait that we value in our own home. Watching him learn in an environment that fosters individuality, mindfulness of others and develop martial arts skills in Taekwondo is truly rewarding as we see it reflected in how he treats others.
The instructors are all very nurturing, kind, encouraging yet stern. I have nothing but accolades for the Sparta family.

Truly one of the greats. I've been to many TKD schools all over Cali and NYC and this school is one of the best. The instructors teach because they love the sport and their passion really shows. They strive to better their students by constantly inventing new drills and also cross training with other schools all over the bay area including Stanford's TKD team. I've been training for over 14 years and moved around while in college, but I always find myself back at Sparta whenever I have the chance. The people there are very friendly. The school feels like a family rather than a

Sparta is an excellent example of a school that instills the traditional martial arts values in their students while embracing the excitement of Olympic style sparring. The owners and instructors truly care about their students and are always challenging to achieve more than they ever thought possible both in the dojang and in their everyday lives.
