In gratitude I am in union with the energies of life and grateful for all the goodness my life has revealed to me. Allow me to extend this feeling of thankfulness and direct it according to my desires. May love enter my life and fill my hear and soul. May the magic of love always inspire me to radiate warmth and caring to all those who touch my life.
Let me discover pure joy in my being. Allow happiness and laughter to flow freely through my life in the lives of those around me. Yoga means to join together. It is the integration of one's own consciousness with universal or cosmic consciousness. Yoga is much more than an ancient body of knowledge.

We are much more than a yoga studio. For six decades, students have come to the Temple to practice and learn more about the spiritual aspects of Kriya Yoga and listen to the dynamic teachings of Goswami Kriyananda, the founder and Spiritual Preceptor. Kriya Yoga is a spiritual path involving breathing and meditation techniques leading toward peace, bliss and connection to God, or higher consciousness.
The word "kriya" is from the Sanskrit root "kri" which means "to do". It implies an action, rite or ritual, hopefully one that is performed consciously. So sometimes it refers to a technique like your pranayama or the shat kriyas, which are purification techniques. It is also used to describe and discuss the currents within the subtle body, sometimes called kriya currents.
Founder and Spiritual Preceptor of the Temple of Kriya Yoga for many decades until his passing in 2015. He carried the flame of the Kriya Lineage through the mystical Teachings of his Guru Sri Shelliji who was a direct disciple of Pramahansa Yogananda. Sri Goswami has been guiding seekers along the path toward enlightenment for over 65 years.
All of our classes will be held online via Zoom. Once you have purchased a single class or class package, you are welcome to register and reserve a place in any of the classes. When you registration is complete, you will receive an email containing a link to join the class meeting. We will reach out to you once you have used all the classes in a 10 or 20 class package.
During the pandemic our Sunday noon meditation will be offered virtually, with swamis teaching from their homes. May you and all whom you love be blessed with all that you need. Aum Shanti, shanti, shanti. In the Noon Meditation today entitled "How to Use the Forces From Within You, " Goswami Kriyananda defines Spiritual Success and identifies the means necessary to realize it.

I entered the meditation on Sundays, while I was a teenager. I was amazed at how straight-forward the truth is. Goswami Kriyananda answered the phone, and I asked if he could calculate the exact date I got pregnant and get back to me. I've listened to him read my spiritual astrology chart. Again it was within my own power (with discipline) to learn to love myself and grow. Christians are afraid of mysticism?! There has never been divination with astrology. It is scientific-math-timing. Accept everything is created by God. Even wisdom. Protect yourself from your own innocence. Philosophy does

It's one of the most wonderful buildings a yogi could hope for. It has an irreplaceably beautiful spiritual ambiance. As soon as you enter the gates in the spring and smell the lavender you know you have arrived at a peaceful destination. From top to bottom this building was made for the Temple of Kriya Yoga. The upstairs Chapel or Cloud room has a hand-painted blue sky and clouds mural across the entire walls and ceiling of the room, it's perfectly magical. The Chapel is large enough for yoga, meditation, or any number of events and purposes. The first floor is where the reception area

For me, this place has been life changing. It is a spiritual refuge. The teachings of Goswami Kriyananda, the teacher training programs, noon meditations, hatha classes and kriya yoga teachings have a way of opening to a richer life.
Not your ordinary yoga place. Perhaps not for all. But, if you are seeking a deeper understanding of the order of life, as I was when I walked in, it may just be a life raft.

This place changed my life radically for the better. A few years back I went through their seminary program, which you can take no matter where you live. A massive download of wisdom and positivity. I will never be the same person and for that I thank them, and Kriyananda, and all of the heroic, selfless people that make that place keep ticking today. What a great place and great bunch of human beings.

The Temple of Kriya Yoga is an acquired taste and not everyone is ready for its magic. If you are looking for a vigorous workout for your body, this will not suit you. If you are looking for a mainstream yoga studio with shiny floors, a steam room and interval training on Friday mornings, this may not be your cup of tea. This place is a spiritual mecca...and I'm not kidding. Nothing fancy, but it's beautiful and rich in its own way. You go here to find your soul, to find out who you are and to start taking that hard look in the mirror to see how you contribute to your own darn misery. Hatha Yoga

A friend of mine took me to a book festival one Sunday and listening to Goswami Kriyananda talk blew my mind. There was a Physicist from Sweden, I believe, and they were talking about.intention and energy and molecules and it had quite an impact on me. Over the years I have taken yoga classes (best classes ever), completed the seminary and taken many other classes. If you're looking for peace, maybe at a cross roads, this place might offer some assistance. I believe the teachings are based on Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) influenced by Swami Paramahamsa Yogananda as Kriyananda was from that lineage

Great place to study and go deeper into the study of Yoga and its relationship to other Mystical studies.
Sri Goswami Kriyananda wrote many books, left lectures in audio recordings and videos.
There are also programs available for those who would like to learn in a more serious and formal way about yoga, meditation and astrology.

The Temple has become my home away from home, and has improved my health and soul dramatically. I'd been hearing about it for well over a decade from various musician friends, and I finally walked in a year ago to do a yoga class. The Temple is old school with pen sign in and series punch cards in a recipe box, but importantly, throughout the decades it has remained true to what yoga is all about. I've gone to a few meditations, but mainly attend the yoga classes several times weekly. The staff is kind and not rigid and the instruction typically caters to the attending students. My

When I first walked into the Temple I thought, well this isn't so bad...I use to be intimidated by the emphasis of being a Temple - for no good reason.
It serene and relaxing. The many years of love and meditation nurtured the building into the beautiful multi-faceted spiritual center it is today. I am so impressed with having access to the wisdom, enlightenment, yoga classes and so much more. It's off to the side but still open to the public. It truly welcomes everyone. They have a great website - www.yogakriya.org and a nice staff.

I started coming to the Temple of Kriya Yoga a few years ago to take a friend's weekly restorative yoga class. I felt very comfortable here and then after a while, started attending the noon meditations on Sundays. The message is inspirational and often feels as if its speaking specifically to what is going on in my life or what actually happened to me this week. The spiritual leader and temple founder is Goswami (teacher) Kriyananda and you can watch many of his lessons on You Tube. Hopefully you will resonate with his message and you will enjoy practicing here, if not there are many other

It is with a very heavy heart that I must warn anyone considering the HYTT program at the Temple of Kriya Yoga to stay far, far away.
I was forced out of this program in mid-term for complaining that the main teacher said the following phrase during class:
"God is just a contraction of the word good."

I've never taken a yoga class here but the astrology classes are fantastic and taught by people who know their art and really love teaching. The 12 noon services are nondenominational and if you stop in for one, you'll probably find them very relaxing and just spiritual in nature--kind of a Power of Now or The Secret type of teaching---no cults here. I've gone to services and classes on and off and no one bothers me or calls me if I'm gone for 3 months.

This place is fricking amazing. I was initially scared off by the spooky cult-like facade (menacing stone building, bearded swami action, proximity to Adidam Ashram), but it was the nearest place for me to do yoga when I lived in Logan Square, so I gave it a try.
The building in itself is pretty amazing- it used to be the Norwegian Young Men's Association Clubhouse (or something?). There's a yoga studio with requisite props, a 70's style lounge where they serve tea on sundays, replete with a giant mural of a unicorn, and a meditation room where they do events. You don't have
