Montessori is an educational method based on the philosophy that a child learns best within a social environment that supports his or her unique development. The academic subjects as well as the practical life and sensorial exercises are presented as hands-on activities, cultivating a natural desire for learning.
The Montessori method was developed in Italy around the turn of the century by Dr. Maria Montessori. It is now known worldwide and well respected as a method of early childhood education. Dr. Montessori discovered, through research and observation, that children learn effortlessly and joyfully when presented with an enriched environment.

Our Infant and Toddler programs have some of the same academic and cultural activities as our Preschool. They include: Art, Music, /Movement, Language and Math. Since 2010, we introduced a program called Your Baby Can Read. This program includes special flash cards, books and videos that we use in our Infant and Toddler areas two times per day, which helps children begin to recognize words.
Director Emily Penwell understands how important good child care is, with 36 years of child care experience. Emily and her staff go the extra mile and treat each child as they would want their own treated. I have been working in the day care business for 36 years. I have always loved working with children and to watch them grow up to young adults.
