Yoga increases flexibility, creates a feeling of well-being, changes movement and thought patterns, develops better proprioception, but is frankly often beyond the ability of most physically large, overweight or rotund people, or people with injuries. That's where Buddha Body Yoga comes in.
In Buddha Body Yoga, we take standard yoga poses and adjust, modify, and adapt them so that larger, overweight or injured people are able to successfully practice.By using supportive yoga gear (bolsters, pillows, blocks, belts, yoga ropes, and physioballs) we allow people to gradually improve their alignment, tone, balance, and flexibility.

Services
My vision is that by joining the online membership we'll address together those moments in life like when you try to get out of a cab or a car and you struggle. Moments when your Hip, knees, feet hurt. Moments when you are walking down the street wobbling from side to side rather than walking straight through.
As a Yoga teacher, your continuing education in "Buddha Body Yoga Fundamentals" guides you into becoming able Yoga leaders and teachers of large-bodied people. As the student, you will be able to practice in an accessible, supported environment with a unique opportunity for insight into how Yoga Teachers work.
We offer a 60 minute private individual sessions with Buddha Body Yoga Founder Michael Hayes. This individual yoga session will be conducted over Zoom. No technical knowledge or special equipment is needed. If you are vaccinated, you have the option to have your session in-person at our Union Square Studio.
The Stretch Out Strap has multiple loops that permit deep, gradual stretching of major muscle groups with greater safety, control and effectiveness than is possible unaided. Michael recommends a heavy heavy duty standard folding chair. You want to be able to take off the back of the chair. You usually can screw those off.

Last year I called this place and said I'd like to make a reservation for a class. (That was a month in advance) the person called me the day before and asked me if I was still interested. This year I figured I would try again. I called, I texted and emailed. Nobody contacted me. I had 4 people including myself who wanted to take a class. I don't understand how this guy stays in business or he is SO busy he doesn't have the time. So after many tries I still have not gotten to take a class. I give up.
