Teresa moved to Austin, TX in 1998. After working in several different industries, she decided to fulfill her life long dream as a stylist. Teresa attended Avenue Five Institute, a Sassoon connection school, where she earned several awards for outstanding academic achievements and professionalism. Upon graduation, she worked for a few salons before deciding to venture out on her own.
FireFly Hair Design was created from Teresa's vision while attending school. Fireflies will magically sync together in harmony creating an amazing sense of awe and wonder. Wow wow wow! All I can say is Mrs. Tersa is AMAZING at what she does. She welcomed me with open arms. The entire process was smooth, she explained how she would cut and why she used that technique. She takes the time to get to know her clients which make the process so much more comfortable. I was nervous because finding a new hair dresser is always stressful. However, my experience here was exceptional and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you! I highly recommend her to EVERYONE!

I've been seing Teresa as my stylist for two years now, which alone is high praise; I don't trust most people to take scissors to my hair. Teresa, however, is fantastic. I've never gotten a bad hair cut, it always looks cute and is exactly what I'm going for. She works to learn what kind of style I like so she can interpret what I'm telling her I want, especially in terms of color. I found Theresa based on the reviews I saw here on Yelp and she truly lived up to them! I lost track of time and NEEDED a salon appt. I'm a blonde by choice and needed my dark roots to disappear before a family wedding in D.C. a week away. I called a few salons that my friends recommended and nothing. I then found Theresa online and gave her a call. I think she heard the panic in my voice because she went out of her way to move some things around and get me in. Not only did she help me avoid a hairtastrophe but she was a joy to talk to throughout the appointment.

Teresa is one of a kind! She took her time with me and I walked out of the salon looking and feeling like a brand new woman ; ).
I have been to many salons in the area and by far Teresa is the most knowledgeable and from the very beginning she made sure I got the most value out of my color and cut.

Teresa is the best hair stylist i have ever been to. She cares so much and she wants nothing but you to be happy when you leave her studio. She has the most amazing treatments. I have been going to her for over a year now and i wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else but her! You won't be sorry if you go see her!!

So I've been going to Teresa for about a year now and can honestly say she is the best stylist I have ever had. In addition to her fun-loving personality as well as her ability to make anyone and everyone feel comfortable in her chair, her work is superb-- To say she is "meticulous" would be the understatement of the century. But don't fret--while she is excellent in her craft, she also offers very affordable services. Her monthly specials are unbelievable. I got a free deep conditioning treatment this month. How can we clone this woman?!

I've spent years trying to find a good hair stylist here in Austin. I finally found Teresa through Groupon about a year ago and I've never been happier. First off, I've never reviewed anything in my life so the fact that I'm taking the time to write this is your first hint at how awesome Teresa is!
I've been going to her for a while now and I've done something different each time, and she's always able to magically bring to life the picture of what I have in my head; even though I'm never good at describing what I want. She's amazing with color, at my last appointment I wanted something super mild that could potentially grow out well and she did an amazing job; it looks so natural!

Teresa has been my stylist for over a year now and love how my hair looks each time I see her. I'm really picky and would hop from one stylist to another because I wasn't happy with the results. My experience with Teresa at Firefly Hair Design was such a positive and refreshing experience.
Teresa truly listened to what I wanted to accomplish with my hair. She was honest and realistic about what we could achieve that day and I was extremely pleased with the outcome.

For the person who is confused about all the great reviews, Teresa is not a stylist out to mass produce hair styles. Teresa takes her time and treats her clients as canvases for her art, which I admire. I've been to tons of hairstylists, but I am happy to have finally found someone I can trust with my hair, while also gaining a wonderful friend, all from simply purchasing a Groupon!

Found Theresa through a special offer and so glad I did. She is a stylist that takes time with her clients. I got a balayage and I do think she is a color expert. Another reviewer complained that she was running late but that has not been my experience. I have used her several times now and am extremely happy with color and cut results. She has suggested products that have worked great for my hair as well. She is professional and personable. I highly recommend firefly and Theresa.

I found her through groupon and came to her to fix an endless hair cut/color disaster. After going from place to place and begging to return to my natural color, I would pay a ton of money and walk out with something even more horrible than I walked into.
So... long story short. I come to Teresa, I am trying not to cry while explaining what I desperately want as a result but can't seem to get. Teresa listens and hears me. Teresa mixes a few potions. A few applications, a whole bunch of heart-to-heart talks

I needed a new hairstylist and was very hesitant about trying someone new. Theresa immediately took away any fear I had of getting my hair done. She new exactly what I needed and wanted. Talking to her was like talking to family, my appointment ended with a big hug. Can't wait to go back, and HIGHLY recommend!!
