Services
As long as it is made of solid gold, you will get cash for your gold chain. Old school men's heavy Figaro, Gucci, Curb link and rope style chains can even contain three to five ounces of gold and can bring thousands of dollars. Depending on your jewelry's style and desirability, you will receive no less than 75% of the market value for your gold jewelry and up to 95% for better pieces.
I will pay higher rates for 5+ ounces of gold. Please feel free to call and discuss your coins and we can give you an approximate buy price. A one ounce gold coin has the same exact full value as the current spot price of gold that you see on the left. The price of gold was around $20 per ounce for 142 years from 1792 until 1935.
This category is always paid at 75% of market value since scrap gold has no extra value beyond the actual gold content. So what exactly is scrap gold? Scrap gold includes broken gold chains, bracelets, single earrings missing their mate, and any other gold jewelry no longer functional without repair.
Most gold watches are priced based on the value of the gold alone, with a few exceptions. I will either remove the watch movement and crystal or estimate the weight if I cannot remove it. I pay 75% of the market value for basic gold watches. Lady's watches tend to weigh less, while heavier men's watches can fetch thousands of dollars.
Gold jewelry from designers such as Tiffany & Co., David Yurman, John Hardy, Marco Bicego, Cartier, Bvlgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, and many others will always be worth more than the gold market value alone. Many gold buyers will try to buy these pieces for scrap value and make an extra profit. I always acknowledge designer signed pieces and pay the appropriate premium over market value.

I have never sold jewelry before, so this was all new to me. I didn't know where to go so I went on line and saw Cook County Buyers inc. The reviews were great, but I decided to go to a jewelry store first.
The gentleman at the first jewelry store was very nice. He went through everything weighed it, and gave the prices he would pay for the gold and silver I had.
I went to a second jewelry store and just brought in a few pieces to see what they would be worth. The second store does not buy old jewelry, but I was told to see Mike at Cook County

Did not have an appointment, just showed up randomly. No one was there so I called the number and Mike showed up in less than 10 mins for me. He was professional and knowledgeable and explained every piece of jewelry in detail to me. His offer was even higher than I expected and I was out of there within 15 mins.
