We’ve sincerely appreciated the martial arts training at Synergy. Master Derek and Master Michael are excellent teachers. Since starting there 5mon than ago, our daughter has focused better in school, shown better self control and discipline. And most importantly, she loves it! Couldn’t recommend this school higher. And this is coming from someone who drives from Baltimore to take our daughter here 2-3 times a week. We wouldn’t put her anywhere else!

It's a great place especially for kids. Master Derek and the teachers are very respectful. Even though I received my Black belt from another school, the instructors at Synergy were very welcoming. All the classes that I have attended have ages from teens to 60s and the students are fun partners to spar against. They practice control so no one gets unnecessarily hurt.

My two children recently started attending this school. My son has been in extensive ABA, OT, and speech therapy his entire life. I feel like this is the missing link that I’ve been searching for. It has given him the confidence he needs to approach new people and it is also is helping him so much with his balance and fine tuning his fine motor skills. Master Derek and his son Michael never make him feel singled out or embarrassed when they correct his form ect. They are so patient with him even though he is severely behind everyone in his class. He leaves feeling energized and excited to practice

My daughter and I have been attending Synergy Martial Arts for more than half a year. It has been a fantastic experience for both of us. Synergy Martial Arts is very family oriented. We felt extremely welcomed from day one. As we continue training our relationship with the Synergy community keeps getting better. Master Derek and his son Michael are proactive in the development with each of their students. We highly recommend trying out Synergy Martial Arts.

We signed up for a trial at this martial arts studio for our 6 year old. The location was very clean and all of the instructors were friendly to parents.
We went for approximately 6 weeks, at which point we could decide to join an a more permanent basis. We decided not to for the following reasons:
1. Large class sizes- The smallest class was maybe 25 students, average was closer to 40. Kids tend to get lost, especially the newer, little ones who don't really know/understand what is going on.
2. My son was almost kicked out of a class. Because they didn't have a class designed to

My daughter participate in the summer program and the after school program. She has built her self-confidence and improved her discipline and patience! My daughter learns Karate techniques and knowledge, social skills, discipline, patience, and team building skills! The environment is friendly, safe and welcoming! The staff are professional, great with the children, responsive and trusting! I look forward to hearing about my daughter's fun filled and enriching day! Thanks Synergy and master Derek!

Both my boys have attended classes and participated in the after school program and summer program. My oldest overcame an anxiety disorder with the help of this martial arts program. It really helped build his confidence and he attained 2nd degree black belt and competed (and won) at the national and world level. Part if my initial reason for choosing Synergy was Master Derek having prior military service. We have watched Derek grow this dojang from a handful of students to a large very sucessful school. The parking lot wouldn't be full if the bad review on here was true!!

My family has been members since 2014, we have had little issues with the instructors, staff, or programs. My son who is a rambunctious 8 year old has been in after school, summer camp, and class has developed discipline and respect over the years. Synergy staff is very patient with him and the difference is notable.

Excellent martial arts school for kids. My 6 and 7 year old son and daughter have been attending for about a year. The instructors are compassionate but firm. They genuinely care about the kids they are teaching. Classes, which are a good mix of boys and girls, are offered at different times throughout the week and you are able to attend as many/few as fit into your schedule.
