Spent an entire week during the Christmas Holiday with my family that lives in Oregon( 12/20-26) and we had an amazing time! We rented a two room suite with 2 bathrooms. Very European style, don't expect the Hilton or a chain . I live here in St Pete, so I'm very familiar with downtown. The rooms were clean and fresh, The staff was great, and the owner was very gracious( he even gave me his personal parking space because I have a High Top Van and could not use the garage that the hotel provides). We will be staying here again, for sure!!! Parking downtown is always a challenge, so be prepared!

Although the location is prime the hotel's website is extremely misleading. The music, dancing and tapa restaurant Ceviche does not exist, there is a small outside bar/eating area late day. The rooms are mildew smelly and very outdated. The bathrooms are tiny but again historical hotel. Coffee machine but no cups. In summary, the staff was very accommodating and friendly but the hotel...we will not be back.

Decent room for the price compared to nearby hotels, and I totally understand why. Hotel is very outdated, the phone in my room looked like it smoked a pack a day. There was a TV on the stand, and a TV hung on the wall, although that one wasn't hooked up to anything. No sink in the bathroom, it's located next to the TVs. There was trash under the bed, just soda bottles, but still- trash. All these things were just fine for ME, I'm not too picky, but what I didn't care for was the hotel won't tell you until AFTER you've made the reservation that they do NOT have parking available, at least I didn

Great location, lots of potential. In desperate need of a deep cleaning. Reeks of cigarette and pot smoke after 3pm. Elevator was not cleaned the entire time I was there. Dont get suckered in to buying their parking garage pass for $15 per day. I parked 2 1/2 days for $20.

Its a very old hotel so don't get to excited at their rates unless you love vintage and enjoy sleeping in it. The front desk guy was amazing and really helpful. I love the different floors and different rooms. It's an experience each time. Cool hotel if you aren't looking for a Hyatt or Hilton. Try them out.

We love boutique hotels and that is what this is! It is the perfect location for enjoying Downtown St Pete. We stay here often. For quick one night stays we get the petite queen room. They are smaller and perfect for just needing a place to lay your head after spending the day and evening enjoying the waterfront, restaurants, bars, etc of downtown St Pete. If you are staying longer, I would recommend upgrading to one of the larger rooms.

I enjoyed my stay....definitely will stay again. The only thing that you have to look out for is not getting a ticket if you don't pay for the meter. There is no free parking. You pay the meter from 9am to 9pm. After 9pm it's free. I would definitely recommend this place for a stay and check out the downtown area...

This is the third time i stay at the Ponce and it is always a nice place to stay. The location is perfect, specially if you are planning on getting wasted because there are tons of bars and restaurants in the area.
The staff is friendly but Luis Baez was an amazing worker. He went the extra mile and was very sweet and professional. I recommend staying here if you prefer hotels that do not look like you common square looking places.

I stayed here for 2 weeks. The staff was incredibly accommodating! They were friendly and went way above and beyond to meet our needs. They took great care of us. The hotel itself is so cool !! It is amazing. I love the retro vibe !!! The location was one of the best things. It is only one block from the marina with a marina view. I would definitely come back again !!

DO NOT STAY HERE! Whatever you do - book somewhere else. If I could give them zero stars, I would.
There was a domestic dispute in the room next to us that was so loud and violent, my husband and I had to call the police. There was blood on the doors in the hall the following day. None of the staff nor management ever addressed it or checked in on the people on the floor. They were irritated that we even asked about it. I asked to speak to a manager and have been put off multiple times. Incredibly rude staff. Just an all around nasty place to stay - from the lobby to the rooms to the staff. Seriously

At first glance, I thought the outside of the building was cute and historic, but as soon as I walked through the door all of my hopes for a good stay went out the window.

* Parking was a four minute walk away with only one parking place to stop and drop off luggage, which was always full. The guest services helped us find the parking which is very confusing with all the one-way streets.

* The inside was very claustrophobic and creepy, the guest service people looked miserable, and the inside just looked plain ugly in my opinion.

* We called ahead of time and asked if they had a cot available

Unfortunately I have to give this hotel a one star rating for the negative experience I had over the past holiday weekend. I stayed in a room with bed bugs that left me and my guest with incredibly itchy, red spots all over our arms and legs despite housekeeping changing the sheets. It was beyond an uncomfortable experience during the night time when sleeping in the bed. And it was to the point where I left early after the second night. All of our clothes, backpacks, and suitcases had to be sanitized immediately upon my return home to avoid bringing these vermin into my house!

I recently stayed at the hotel from July 3 - 5 and I thought it would be a pleasant experience. I later realized at the end of my trip that my room had beg bugs. My friends and I were all bitten and reached out to the hotel upon my return to very poor customer service and without an apology. My friends and I are now struggling with bite marks and have reviewed no call or apologies from them. I have left a message for the manager and the receptionist who answered the phone was rude and not accommodating.

I CANNOT recommend this hotel and advise anyone to stay there.

Location is awesome... and that's it!!! Room is old, small queen size bed, and the worst of all is the acoustic of the room, you can hear EVERYTHING, from people talking, slamming doors and even the elevator! Since it's located close to the night life, all the noise in the hallway does NOT TO at least until 3 to 4am!!! So unless you don't expect to sleep, I do not recommend this place!

Ok it's a budget hotel located smack dab in the middle of costly bay front real estate. If you are looking for 150 dollar night stay you might give this a higher rating. But don't expect all the frills for that price. They do a fair job with what they have. Rooms are dated but mine was clean. All the comments about the elevator - just prepare for the stairs. A good place for traveling light. Minimal room.

Cute hotel, but the service is what shoots my rating of this hotel straight down. The room was not ready by check-in time... took almost two hours after check-in to even get the room, which really delayed our days plans. We expressed our disappointment with the concierge, a rude woman who basically said she couldn't be bothered with our discrepancy.

Do yourself a favor... there's a Hampton by Hilton next door. Just go there.

I'll start by saying that this reminds you of places you see on Dateline NBC or American Horror Story. Although it appears that the hotel has made attempts to have an updated look - paint, linens, etc. this wasn't comfortable for us. No staff members wore masks, but the room appeared clean. The bed was a foot off the ground and very uncomfortable. It made very loud creaking noises if you moved even the slightest bit. Lol. But we were exhausted from a delayed flight so we stayed. Elevator is sketchy...take the stairs. Keep the tv volume up...lots of loud talking and yelling right

Late review. Only hotel with available rooms over the Labor day 2020 weekend. We had room 616. Old building but rathe than charm (like the Hollander Hotel), this has a cheap hostel feel. Price was right, room quality and service was not.... The room itself was good, a corner unit, lots of windows, interesting layout, fairly quiet with minimal street noise and with really excellent black out curtains. One of the two queen beds was wonky with a slant, not comfortable at all. Bedding was OK but I missed fluffy pillows. Would have been at least a two star visit given the low price at that point

When planning for our "staycation" for our anniversary in St. Petersburg, I did a lot of research before choosing the Ponce de Leon Hotel. I read many reviews before choosing it, so I thought I knew what we were getting into. Turns out, we were surprisingly pleased that it was better than we expected.

The location was perfect for us since it was within walking distance of so many things - the Salvador Dali Museum, the St. Petersburg Pier, the Mahaffey Theater, Al Lang Stadium, the marina and yacht club, and many, many parks. The hotel has a deal with a parking garage around the corner

There are so many things wrong with this place, so let's start with parking. I pulled up and there were only three spots out in the front for parking, all of which were full. I ended up driving around in circles trying to find a spot so that I could check in and had to pay a meter. Went inside and I had to buy a pass to allow me to use the parking garage near by. There were only a limited number of them and thankfully I got the last one. If I hadn't, instead of parking for $10 for my whole stay, it would have been $15 per night plus some ridiculous amount per hour. When I went to check

This a boutique hotel with CHARACTER. The building is a St Pete staple. Each room is unique as it should be. It ain't the Ritz if that's what you are expecting! This is a hotel for the free spirits, for the adventure seekers for the ones who live in the moment.
1. STAFF IS AMAZING! Friendly and helpful
2. Rooms are clean and have all the necessities
3. Perfect location!!!
4. Uniqueness at its best
It's a hotel you will remember and love ST Pete even more!

Very cute hotel. Was just there for a night, but for just myself it was perfect. It's an old structure, I love the wood floors in the rooms. Bathrooms are tiny, but that's part of its character. Connected right to Ceviche! Staff is VERY friendly and helpful. Parking garage right across the street and one block up. Checked in at 3p and left at 12p and it was $14 for the parking. Not bad! I would stay again. Thanks, Ponce!

Terrible Singer on November 14, 2020.
I know most singers want to showcase there vocal dexterity, it's just that not everyone has that ability. I've never heard worse renditions of "Rhythm is going to get you" or the Tina Turner song she tried to sing. It was agonizing. I love live performers but just don't try to be something you are not.

Upon arrival, check in was quick, easy and friendly.
The room itself is small and outdated, but clean and a great price for its location.
We did have an issue with the toilet not flushing and bad water pressure in the shower- but we made do.
Hotel Rooms could use some upgrades but yet it was small and cozy as well.

This hotel was surprisingly not any different than a slum apartment. The room was not only tiny, but nothing there felt clean. The sheets on the bed smelled of mold and the room was falling apart and not well kept. The sink location was behind the hotel door, which I found very inconvenient awkward. For the price point and location of the hotel, I was really shocked at the lack of quality and cleanliness of the rooms. I would avoid staying here at all costs. There are way better places to stay at.

It is located in the best place in st Petersburg where all the best restaurants, bars and shopping are located. As far as the actual hotel it's not a bad place to stay for the price.

This hotel could be great if they had ownership that wanted to update the place. To much of the furniture is beat up and old. The lobby could use a total remodel. The staff is great though. They are friendly and do the best they can do with what they have to work with.
