We look to the past with admiration for old hotels that were both "in and of" their communities. They were locally owned and passionately run to serve not only the traveling public, but their neighbors as well. They were real centers of community life and a source of pride to their cities.
Then came interstate highways and commercial aviation, along with some technical advances in hotel facility design, and poof! - the community-centered hotels disappeared. In their place came national, corporately owned, brand name hotels, situated along the highways or near airports. These hotels don't fill the place of the old hotels in the hearts of their neighbors.

O’Henry has ambiance like an oasis - whether it’s afternoon tea or drinks in the lobby, brunch or dinner at the Green Valley Cafe or just hanging around the well appointed rooms, there is a relaxing vibe here. The location near Friendly Shopping Center is great but other spots are easy to reach from O’Henry. Staff are competent, pleasant & professional - all told we enjoyed a short holiday getaway and will be back.

Back again to do tea with my friends. Who loved this experience. Fancy teapots, cups and saucers and 3 tiered trays of delicious savory and sweets. The holiday tea was perfect for the season, cinnamon, cloves and all things holiday. The Paris tea was like dessert in a cup, sweet and vanilla toned. The Raspberry tea was refreshing and fruity and light. I love how proper and how they try and capture the British style of afternoon tea. The cucumber sandwich is by far the favorite of the afternoon. The vanilla scone is a must and if sharing a service get an extra scone! You can also do the Prosecco

What a fabulous place! The rooms were roomy and well appointed. Wanted to enjoy the afternoon high tea, but was unable to, you need reservations. However passing through it looked delicious. What wonderful experience to take a young girl to experience as well as us older gals. The O Henry is located close to shopping and the downtown of Greensboro. Take time to explore this NC city

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the O. Henry. The hotel staff was amazing from Day 1, and the room was exactly what I wanted it to be for my fiance's birthday! My ONLY complaint is for the food. As someone who's never had/used Room service before, I have to say it was not that great of a first experience. First night, my fiance ordered a burger and fries. The fries were cold. He said the burger was good, though. The next morning we decided to order in breakfast, give it another try. Two orders of grits, two orders of bacon (one they forgot to add), a croissant, a full pot of coffee, and an order

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and this has been hands down the best hotel experience we have ever had. The stylings and decor are beautiful. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The restaurant is amazing, everything we ordered was delicious. The service was the best we've ever had at a hotel. Friendly, prompt, we never had to wait for anything. We feel we got more value for our money here than we did at the grove park inn. We will make staying here a tradition for us.

How a hotel is supposed to be! Rooms were so very thoughtfully appointed. The fit and finish were thought out in every space from the guest rooms, restaurant, public areas down to the exercise room. We had several meals at the restaurant and everything was absolutely delicious. Staff greats everyone and meticulously wipes, polishes and keeps spaces sparkling! True hospitality!

We got married at the O. Henry and it was absolute perfection. The cloister garden, the hotel with its cool theme and vehicles, and the amazing food at The Green Valley Grill combine to make it a wise choice for anyone planning a wedding or large event.
For us now, it's a wonderful anniversary getaway that makes us think of our wedding. We had the best stay this past weekend and I want to point out one theory I have as to why. Everywhere else we went in town was showing obvious signs of struggling to adequately staff their facilities. Even Natty Green's was closed on Saturdays. But The

I made a reservation for tea for me, my wife, and my daughter to celebrate my wife's birthday. We (my wife and I) had been there previously and had a wonderful experience and wanted to share it with our daughter.
We arrived a little early for our reservation, checked in, and found a comfy spot to sit. Server A greeted us and gave us some menus. Server B (our primary server) came by a few minutes later and took our order.
Server B came by twice to check on us (we didn't need anything at the time) and then a few more groups were seated. Shortly after, our teapot ran dry and no servers

Had an enjoyable afternoon tea experience here. Reagan was our server and she was fabulous! I had a fruity flavored iced tea. Still served in one of those fancy tea pots. A friend and I weren't very hungry so we shared what I think was the O.Henry Tea selection. The scones are sooooo good. I wasn't a fan of the savory selections - Cucumber Finger Sandwich Mini Ham, Brie and Fig Croissant, Smoked Salmon on a Mini Crumpet with Arugula Mayonnaise, and the Quiche but the Chicken Salad Filo Tart and everything else was good. Yea is served in the lobby area where they have different types of

Can I just say wow?! We decided to spend our wedding anniversary here and we're delighted to find they upgraded us to one of the very beautiful Magi suites. Check in was professional and welcoming. They had lovely truffles and a sweet little note for us when we arrived to the room. We were paid a call by Jonathan the manager to make sure we were enjoying the accommodations. Super nice gentleman who was more than happy to have made our day extra special! We'll be dining at GVG tonight and look forward to the experience. A++++. Thank you for making everything so amazing!

Each time we have visited our stay is joyous and relaxing. Diamond service is the standard here and the staff is attentive and anticipates your every need. The room has those subtle luxuries like a surroundsound system in the bedroom and in the bathroom. The tile work in the bathroom is impeccable and amazing showing a clean detail. Tea time for anyone staying here is great as we missed out last time as you have to make reservations in advance. The varieties of teas and the service is definitely worth the price. I recommend the OHenery Special and splint of Champagne. The room is cozy if you want

Sophisticated southern charm and foot tapping jazz on Thurs nights. They dim the lights and the servers arrive to take your drInk and tapas order. The setting takes place in the elegant, romantic lobby.
Come ck out the amenities, stay a while and if u find yourself a little tipsy stay over in the wonderful accommodations they have on site.

Beautiful hotel with a superb staff. My stay was super short but I look forward to coming back.
A call out to management and housekeeping, I thought I felt a sand grain in my bed as I was trying to sleep. I turned on the bedside lamp and to my surprise I picked from the sheets a piece of glass, perhaps a remnant or something that had broken. A little perturbed but I suppose these things can happen... I'm glad it wasn't any bigger!
I still look forward to visiting this hotel again and can't wait to try the restaurant as well as high tea which both look wonderful!

First off, let me say that the reason for 3 stars is because we had a totally different picture in mind for the afternoon tea at O'henry, given the buzz and social media hype around it. We went there after after our lunch at green valley grill, just to relax and unwind with the concept of high tea and the process of choosing different teas along with scones and biscuits for an afternoon chitchat.
We expected a more cozy ambience and better seating on a dedicated area to give the feel of 'afternoon tea' but it was just a setting in the hotel lobby where ppl were scattered around

This was an unexpectedly magical hotel experience. I would give a 6th star if I could because I left my wallet in my room and they HAND DELIVERED it to my office so I didn't have to rush back in between meetings or on my way to the airport! That is incredible service.
I know I'm coming from Boston so I'm typically surprised by lower prices and larger rooms in smaller towns, but the rooms were HUGE and the lobby and "pavilion" were a sight to behold. The lobby was huge with high ceilings and comfy seating and the pavilion was covered in ivy with outdoor seating and a foundation
