My journey into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine started as a child with a mother who had a natural remedy for everything. Her remedies included EVERYTHING from using a ripe banana peel on a wart to a hot lemon honey drink for a cold. I learned early the value of relying on our bodies own natural healing potential when given the right impetus.
Acupuncture is one part of a larger system of medicine called Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Traditional Chinese medicine is rooted in the concept of creating flow, strength, and balance where there is stagnation, deficiency or excess by moving qi and blood throughout the body. Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin, sterile, single-use acupuncture needles into carefully chosen points on the body.
There are hundreds of individual substances commonly used in Chinese herbal medicine. Most of these herbs are derived from part of a plant, but some are sourced from animals and minerals. Several herbs are quite common and you may find them in and around your home such as ginger, cinnamon, garlic, chrysanthemum and peony flowers.
A woman who emerges from her birth experience feeling honored, empowered and satisfied is emboldened as she steps into her new and ever-changing role as a mother. There are many reasons to hire a doula, possibly one of the most important is that doulas help to facilitate a positive birth experience.

I have been seeing Sara just over a year now. When I came to her, I had no experience with acupuncture, and had no idea what to expect! After our first consult, I was excited to solve my fatigue, some menstrual problems, and some minor jaw pain.
Now a year later, I am unsure how I would have survived without her help! From discovering that most of my problems were coming to my gut, to helping me find ways to seek peace and relaxation, Sara has helped me turn around my physical and mental health. Thank you Sara! Excited for more herbs :)

I wasn't sure that I would like acupuncture. A Friend of mine introduced me to Sara Bates and said she was great. After a few session I wasn't sure it was working but I needed to give it time. I am hooked ... It helps with what I need! She makes you feel very comfortable, knows what you need, very positive and sweet.

If you are looking for a professional, smart and effective acupuncturist in Fort Collins, Sara is your girl! I had an old hip injury from 2017 that had continually been bothering me so I thought I'd give acupuncture a try. After just one session I felt better -- Sara knows what she is doing! I had my sixth session today and I am happy to report that my injury and discomfort associated with it are almost completely gone! Sara also treats my troublesome areas in my neck and wrist with some cupping that always releases tension. Additionally, her space is calm, clean, inviting and comfortable. I can

Sara is great!! I’m still feeling out the whole acupuncture world, so Sara invited me in for a consultation to go over what acupuncture is, how it works, and to do her initial intake appointment so I could learn more about the process and scope of her work.
She was so thorough, gave me so many great ideas of holistic ways to improve my health outside of acupuncture, and just overall was so caring, thorough, thoughtful, and informed. She wasn’t pushy with me at all, either.
Her holistic health advice has been working and if I’m ever in need for acupuncture help, I will for sure be going

I had no expectations of what to expect from my first acupuncture experience, but I am so happy and pleased that I was referred to Sara because she is incredible. I came in with a pain that she was able to address right away along with recommendations for additional things I could do at home as part of an overall wellness plan. I have literally been talking about acupuncture to everyone for the past two weeks because I am so amazed by how much better I feel. Thank you Sara!

I saw Sara Bates for the first time in Nov. of 2017. At the time I was having problems with my sinuses and a sore ear and was getting ready for not only a very busy business trip but flying. It was the first time I had acupuncture and I was very pleased. Sara was very informative, kind and comfortable to work with. I did not feel the needles and was very relaxed when we got done. The one session helped my ear and I stayed healthy for the entire trip! Sara also gave me some ideas to help maintain my health. Very worth the time and money!

I have had the privilege of working with Sara Bates and the most positive experiences as a former patient in Nashville TN. We conducted several acupuncture/yoga workshops together with great success. The combination of her acupuncture skills and her amazing ability as a yoga teacher make for good healing!
Sara did not hesitate to help my daughter with acupuncture for some issues she was having prior to delivering her first child in 2015.
Sara demonstrates a compassionate and calm approach as well as being the ultimate professional.

I received weekly acupuncture and took prescribed herbals for 10 months for the purpose of infertility. After my original provider had to take a leave of absence I transitioned to Sara based on his recommendation. After my first visit with her, I had a good feeling. While the original provider was exceptional also, Sara asked new questions and paid careful attention to "the big picture". She very clearly looked at the whole me and thought critically to uncover imbalances and root causes for my irregular cycles. It was shortly after switching to her and the resulting herbal change, etc that I was
