Acupuncture is recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as effective in the treatment of a wide variety of medical problems. Around the world, including in China, Korea, and Japan, acupuncture is used as primary care medicine which means it can be used to treat the whole body at a systemic level.
We explain cupping as the opposite of massage. Where with massage you are utilizing pressure to break up scar tissue, adhesions, or knots - cupping creates a suction to break up adhesion, old scar tissue, or knots. In that process it brings the stagnant blood to the surface of the skin allowing new blood to come to the tissue and begin healing the area.
Kimberley's first experience with acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) was in the late 90s when she was working in a cigarette smoke-filled environment. She developed a deep chest cold. Kimberley's roommate insisted she go see "her" doctor. As they were to the doctor's office, Kimberley had no idea her life was about to change forever; she just hoped to get relief from her cold.
Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) to release chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. If you have never experienced acupuncture I feel pretty safe in saying it can provide tremendous well being not just in pain relief but in a true sense of feeling well. If you are experienced with this profound modality then I can't give a bigger recommendation than Savannah and Kimberly. I've seen no fewer than a half dozen acupuncturists over the last 10 years and Kimberly stands head and shoulders above the rest. I've had regular appointments with her for over a year now and the results I'm receiving are phenomenal. She is an excellent listener, very thorough, knowledgeable, and an effective acupuncturist. I never feel rushed in her office. I feel heard and known and the treatments work – that's pretty much the total package for me when it comes to a healthcare practitioner. I know they take a wide variety of insurances and are really easy to work with in that regard, too.
