At AIM, we strive to utilize our training and skill set in acupuncture and herbal medicine to facilitate a more expansive and safer space for all community members who enter our door to be empowered in their healing process. We are a Black-led, owner-operated community business located in the historic Belmont neighborhood of West Philadelphia.
We work towards addressing gaps in the healthcare system - especially those affecting BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) communities - with values rooted in equity, self-determination, and love.

Our scope of practice includes Eastern Traditional Medical diagnosis and treatment. As we do in acupuncture, in Chinese herbology, we use our training in meridian theory and Western biomedicine to treat patterns of disharmony and to help manage symptoms associated with modern medical conditions.
Our goal is to prescribe formulas with herbs that work together synergistically to help restore balance and to strengthen the body by removing blockages and encouraging improved blood flow and overall functionality. This is often a process that takes some time. We recommend starting with at least 4-6 weeks of treatment.

Acupuncture in Motion is an amazing healing arts space! Definitely a sanctuary of calm. Practitioner Cara Raboteau is gentle, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about Chinese medicine. I've gotten treatments here for a myriad of physical and emotional health issues and I can't recommend her practice enough! Cara supports and cares deeply about the local community- check this place out!

I have been in for acupuncture twice, and both times were supremely peaceful and restorative. The space is beautiful, tranquil - all the street noise melts away. Cara is attentive and caring. She settled me in and left me to soak up all the goodness. I highly recommend that you try Acupuncture in Motion out if you like community acupuncture, and if you haven't tried it - you should. The thing I love about community acupuncture is that once you are stuck, you can stay for as long as you like. In an office setting, they wake you up after 20 minutes or so and you have to move on, even if you were

This is hands down the best community acupuncture place in the area! Firstly, the new space is inviting and beautiful. Cara is so comforting and supportive - she took time to really listen to me and share her thoughts about my treatment. I’ve never been to a community acupuncture place that does cupping - this is usually a real luxury but included in the sliding scale fee here.
I’ve been spreading the word about this place. If you’re new to acupuncture or seasoned client like myself - this is a great place to go for your care.
