Services
State Road Animal Hospital was started in the early 1960's. The past 60 years have brought many changes. State Road Animal Hospital has grown from a small 1 doctor practice with a wood stove to the multi-doctor practice it is today. In 2000, the hospital became computerized and two years later a major renovation was done on the building.
Dr. Tom Finn graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. His impeccable bedside manner and high-quality medicine have proven to be an immeasurable asset to the patients within our community! Prior to graduating, he dedicated his undergraduate years as well as many of his vet school years to State Road Animal Hospital.
In order to maintain our high standard of service, we require that payment be made at the time services are rendered. We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges. State Road Animal Hospital is happy to accept Cash, Check, Major Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and CareCredit.
Linda started working at State Road Animal Hospital in 2007. She had an undeniable love of pets as well as people, and she embraced the importance of the pet/owner bond. In honor of Linda and the love she shared, the name of the Squirt Fund is being changed to Linda's Ministries. Linda had a special place in her heart for the Squirt Fund.
Preventive veterinary care is the cornerstone of keeping your pet their healthiest so that you and your pet can have more great years together. Since pets age more quickly than people do, it is critical to have regular physical examinations every 6-12 months to assess your pet's health. Annual age-appropriate lab tests, testing for heartworm and/or tick-borne diseases, and fecal tests for parasites may also be recommended for your pet.

It's a good place to take your animal but right now they aren't accepting new customers and the prices are very high

8.22.21 - I had an appt scheduled at 11:30 on 8/9/21 to have my dog’s stitches removed by a tech. Their staff chose the appt date & time that would work well for them, and I accepted. I arrived 3 minutes early & sent the arrival text. After 20 minutes of zero response or acknowledgement, I called on the phone which went into voice mail. I left a voice message. Still no response or acknowledgement. I sat in the parking lot for a total of 35 minutes (from 11:27 til 12:02). No one ever responded or even acknowledged me. I was taking time away from work to attend this appt and had no more time to

I have brought my big fur baby here for the last 2 years. I have always been really happy with the care my big pup has gotten. She isn't the easiest dog for strangers to handle but they have always treated her with love and understanding. This morning my girl had somewhat urgent issue and they were able to fit her in right away and got her taken care of. I could keep going but I think I have expressed that I have been very happy with State Road Animal Hospital and would definitely recommend them.

My mom had a cat that had been under their care since he was a kitten. He had been acting weird and so she took him in, they gave him antibiotics and sent him home. A few months later he kept puking and they said he had acid reflux. Wouldn't run other tests or anything. He kept getting worse and they continued to act like nothing is wrong with him, had her changing his food and saying it's fine. He was losing so much weight that he looked unhealthy.
We finally got another opinion and they found lymphoma in his intestines, which was so progressive by the time it was found that he wouldn't have

While the veterinarian we worked with was wonderful, I believe it was Dr. Finn, the front desk staff could genuinely use some improvement. Cost of services were high as well. We have chosen to take our pet to a different vet and have no plans on returning.

I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the doctors and staff at State Road Animal Hospital. My elderly cat was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and CKD. The doctor was very helpful while explaining each of his test results, the reason for follow up monitoring, and his medication. The tech was great, too. My cat used to be a "caution cat" and would need sedation just to have his temperature taken. But he was calm throughout his visit at SRAH.

Dr Sharon Waugh and her caring and compassionate staff are truly the best in the business. Dr Waugh takes her time with your pet and answers any questions you may have. You can tell she is very passionate about her profession and goes above and beyond in the care she provides. I would never take my pets anywhere else!

This business is amazing! Both Dr. Armstrong and Dr. Weber are wonderful veterinarians, and the nurses are all very kind, caring and compassionate...You can tell that every person that works there truly cares about animals as well as their owners.

My mother and I have been long-time clients of this business, and we couldn't ask for a better veterinarian in Dr. Armstrong. He is knowledgeable about his profession, and is kind, yet firm with the animals. He also explains everything to you, from what he's doing during the exam to possible diagnoses for the animals.
