Clean, great rooms, super friendly and accommodating staff, eco-friendly amenities. We stayed in the Cascade room, which was spacious and well appointed. Even the hide-a-bed was comfortable! My only gripe is that the bedroom in this unit does not have a heater, so you have to leave the doors to the bedroom and the bathroom open to get any heat into the room (nearest heater is in the bathroom). This was only really a problem because we had our young daughter with us and wanted to be able to stick her in the bedroom with the door closed for her early bedtime while the adults stayed up and hung out

The Heliotrope is a mixed bag. I'm going to try to be as fair as I can with this review, dear reader, and let you decide if you want to stay here.
Pros:
= Location is great in a residential neighborhood that is an easy drive to downtown and Fairhaven.
= The hotel is cute and renovated to be mid-century modern.
= You don't need keys to get into your room, you just punch in a code.
= Room #2, Trillium, was spacious.
= Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons:
= We specifically chose the Flora Trillium room because it had a microwave, but it was broken. They didn't have any spares so

The vibe is cool, low key & minimalist. The room was nice but the shades don't keep out all the light (glad we were there on a rainy fall morning) and there were some major floor stains. Thankful for the room mini-fridge. Bathroom is modern and nice. There were a couple of breweries within a couple of blocks and it's an easy uber to downtown. Staff was friendly & helpful.

Loved everything about this hipsterized motor court motel! Rooms were simple but well-anointed with everything we needed. Awesome mcm design style! Location was central enough. (We had a fun evening at a beer garden down the road with a blue grass group playing and food trucks.) They even had a dog run for our pup. The free coffee was especially delicious!! Friendly, helpful staff. Comfy bed. We feel lucky to have stayed there.

Cute hotel with a lot of thoughtful design and comfort features. The space was not too small or too big. All the decor was simple and purposeful. The chairs outside each room are a relaxing place to enjoy coffee or beer in the day or at night. The bed was incredibly comfy and the pillows were good, too. I would stay here again and also any hotel that they choose to open in the future. Also, the price point was more than reasonable in comparison.

This hotel is super cute! This was our 3rd time staying here with our dogs and we have all enjoyed every stay. Clean rooms and restrooms, super cozy beds, plenty of room for dog beds on the floor, and tasty free coffee in the am! Within walking distance of food and drink and a super cute neighborhood to walk the dogs around.
Thanks for being such a easy place to stay on our way to the mountain!

Stayed here with my daughter, so glad I found this cute little hotel. So many great little details that were supplied in the room, like earplugs, bluetooth speaker, corkscrew. Love the room decor and the grounds were beautiful, loved the fire pit they had going for guests to enjoy. I didn't go into the Hub, because of the current pandemic I tried to avoid public indoor spaces. The no contact check-in and check-out process was the best process I've experienced during this pandemic.

The team at Heliotrope know just the right amount of care and attention for their guests. The rooms are clean, spartan and perfectly set up. The staff is available but not over the top bubbly. They have all that you need - when you need it!
The location of the hotel is nestled in a cool neighborhood with lots of restaurants and fun breweries within walking distance.
Wonderful vibe, clean and accommodating for the weekend adventurer or the business casual!

Cute place, but still need to solidify hospitality. We arrived to wet carpet by fridge and sink, and were only offered rags to try and soak it up. We also discovered our shower didn't drain, saying they had old pipes. We do too at home and this was much worse. Still an inch of water when second shower was started. And the next morning, it was slippery from the soap residue and the water almost spilled out of the shower lip since there was so much.
Housekeeping is only upon request, which we weren't aware of until we got back and the rags were still there on the floor and no sign of trash

Booked our second stay here for the RSVP (bike ride) overnight. We had none of the glitches of our first stay, and everything worked our great. From the location (near bike repair shops; near great places to eat; right on the ride route) to the nice size of the room this was an excellent spot. And this time we were farther away from the fire pit, having learned our lesson! In fact I'm not sure there even WAS a fire that night.

Stayed there last night. Great Hotel. I usually stay in the hotel where I get points but was intrigued by a boutique hotel in Bellingham with a 5 star rating. Called about a reservation and talked to a wonderful lady on the phone. Price for a room was great, location was convenient so I stopped in.
Quiet, perfectly clean, newly remodeled and very well done.
Would definitely stay again!
