Hamlet Hotel is ideally located in the entertainment district of beautiful downtown Bellingham, Washington. Minutes walk from great food, entertainment and adventure. Our two-story brick building was built in 1906 during a vibrant and dynamic period of Bellingham history. The downstairs originally housed the Cottage Bar and the upstairs was the Cottage Hotel (12 sleeping units plus a community bath).
Around 1950, the second floor windows were covered over and remained so for the next seven decades; the second floor denigrated to storage use. In 2017 the building underwent significant renovation that returned the second floor to modern residential living space. Approximately 90% of the original hotel walls have been retained to create our four "hamlets."

As a family, we continue to choose a traditional hotel experience for particular types of travel circumstances, but increasingly find the unique travel experience associated with AirBnb to be our preferred method. We value location and we appreciate gaining a local, less "cookie-cutter" perspective on our destination when seeking our own short term rental accommodations.

This part of the South Bay Trail (1.5 mi from Hamlet Hotel), features the beautiful, boardwalk that spans over the bay. Open till 2:30 AM Thurs - Saturday and till 9:00 PM the rest, you have to grab a slice from the Pye Hole some evening as you head to/from Hamlet Hotel! Your pizza is fired in a Woodstone pizza oven, another one of our many impressive local businesses!
There is a loading zone parking space located directly in front of the access door to Hamlet Hotel. If empty, feel free to pull-in there to unload your bags. 1 Leave your vehicle flashers on while parked in the loading zone spot. This communicates to the parking enforcement officers that you are engaged in a momentary unload/load activity.

The Hamlet Hotel is a must. Would love to keep it "Our Little Secret" but will share. It is comfortable, cozy and stylish. The comforts of Home. Spent 2 days and didn't want to leave. The NightLife on Friday and Saturday nights can be a little LIVELY but the Hamlet provides earplugs. This doesn't take away from the wonderful charm and comfort that the Hamlet provides. We stayed in Suite 201 and look forward to staying in the other 3 suites available. Looking forward to our next stay.
