We are a community of people, in constant learning, dedicated to sharing with you our years of practice and study of yoga so that you can remove boundaries within yourself + between each other. I opened Yogamaya to share and care for what I love, yoga. My classes are challenging, devotional and fun, but not frivolous.
A long-time student of Iyengar teachers Carrie Owerko & Kevin Gardiner, and Jules Mitchell, I integrate the texture and subtleties of alignment & biomechanics with flow and purposeful sequencing. We approach the asanas with the mood of appreciation, climb deep into our bodies, and discover a way of moving that is at once humble and powerful.

I couldn't possibly say enough great things about Yogamaya. The space is beautiful, the teachers are professional and lovely, the whole experience is so soothing and centering and dare I say - magical. Thank you to Bryn and all the teachers for offering this beautiful yoga oasis! You all are the best!!

I love love LOVE yogamaya! Their zoom classes were life saving during shutdowns, and I'm so thrilled that they've been able to start opening back up in their fabulous new space. Can't say enough great things about the classes & teachers - everything about the experience has obviously been designed with peace and well being in mind. My body and brain really sing my praises when i take the time out to treat myself to a class :)

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Yogamaya and the incredible community Bryn has cultivated that brings their beautiful space alive. I found Yogamaya in 2014 and its teachers and classes have been a source of light ever since. I can’t wait for their next iteration and will continue taking online classes in the meantime!

Yogamaya is the ONLY vinyasa studio in NYC that knows what it is doing. What do I mean by that? Well, Yogamaya classes make students of all body sizes and colors feel confident, yogamaya classes teach authentic alignment that helps students safely practice poses as they build strength in mobility, yogamaya classes give you a great workout, are FUN and present AUTHENTIC Vedic lineage yoga--- no colonization here. I dont have ONE bad thing to say about Yogamaya. I have practiced at 15 different studios in NYC, and Yogamaya is the only one that is absolutely perfect. I'm spoiled now, I cannot

4 stars for an authentic studio, knowledge teachers, and challenging sequences. I've been here a couple of times and compared to the other yoga studios in the city this one really does provide the full benefits of yoga (mind + spirit). I have mostly good things to say about this studio except it gave me bikram vibes a couple of times (think: intense teachers, chanting, the full deal).

An enjoyable, slow-paced fundamentals class this morning with Briana who provided detailed explanations. Yogamaya has plenty of changing stalls (see photo), two gender neutral restrooms with a shared sink area, and a large coat and shoe area when you first enter the space. No showers and no lockers; there are shelves in the studio where you can store your belongings during class. This was my first visit to Yogamaya. Whether you sign up via ClassPass (me) or MindBody (my husband), as a first time visitor you'll be asked to complete a new client waiver form on an iPad, so be sure to allow

I am a big fan of trial deals for yoga studios. Look them up on mindbody, seriously. It's safe to say that I've gone to a bunch of studios
I have two absolute favorites. Yogamaya and humming puppy. I went with the one that was cheaper without the bells in whistles and offered more classes during convenient hours.
Make or break of yoga for me is the teacher. Some days I am there and ready to be present. Other days, I could be on a different planet. By the end of class, I always feel great. This studios teachers are good about teaching to all levels. Instruction is good and if you

Without a doubt my favorite yoga studio in NYC. This is the most beautiful studio - so spacious, soooo zen, beautiful wooden carvings and gorgeous facilities. And the studios are QUIET. Allie is the best teacher!!! Her classes have the perfect balance of physical challenge and that sacred deeper yoga experience. This is NOT a core power yoga experience, thank goodness! She plays a beautiful instrument at the beginning of class, has a thoughtful message, and her sequence is always interesting and challenging to just the right amount. She gives such specific detailed instructions that I always get

Not sure I understand all of the glowing reviews and 5 stars. While the studio itself was fine in terms of size there were a few setbacks - only two bathrooms for all genders (one of which was broken causing a long line). Very stuffy room with stale air, lack of lockers and showers. I didn't care for constant insistence to get a blanket - I don't use and don't need them but surely if I did, I'd use my own and not the one someone else had just sat on. The teacher was lovely and friendly however though she found time to chat about yesterday's weather, didn't bother asking

I've recently had the chance to come back to Yogamaya for a few classes, and I have to say, the magic is still here many years after I've left the city. The space is very beautiful, and there are lots of great classes to choose from.
Most recently, I have really enjoyed Lori N and Katie F's classes. Katie has a thoughtful, warm levity that fills the room with lots of energy, even during a restorative yoga class. Lori N's classes always start with a theme that she weaves in through all the flows. Her classes are deeply meditative, and I always leave feeling refreshed.

My favorite yoga studio in New York. Consistently awesome classes that focus on yoga as a practice and mindset overall. Teachers pay attention to your poses and help you improve, and they remember who you are. The studio is beautiful, clean, and spacious. Really can't go wrong here if you want a friendly environment to improve your practice. I've tried 5+ other studios in NY but have to say Yogamaya has been the best overall on studio, teachers, and classes.
Some notable teachers are Alexandra and Danielle, off the top of my head. Great options for beginners and more advanced students

Got a Groupon deal for 5 classes and I loved it. My favorite instructor was Danielle (her playlist was on point). Easy to book classes online, easy check in. Love the natural lighting and decor - what a gorgeous studio! Also, mats are included so you don't have to carry anything and their mats are high quality (I didn't slip at all). Liked the hands on adjustments.
1) Take off your shoes and leave them in the front
2) You can hang your coat there
3) You can bring your personal belongings into the studio and leave them on the shelves in the back of the room
4) No cell phones allowed

I really enjoyed my visit of this yoga studio.
I think Anna is an amazing yoga instructor. I consider myself a Level 2 student. I learn many new poses from Anna, and her flow and focuses on poses suited me perfectly.I think her class was good combination of stretches and building strength.
Studio itself is clean and friendly.
I will surely visit again when I am in town next time!

This is the only Yoga studio I go to in NYC. I tried out maybe five others before I decided to stick with this one.
I love the decor of the studio. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into the design of the place. I also love how clean everything is especially the bathroom.
I've only gone to the hour L2 classes and they're great.
The classes are reasonable sizes. The only time I've seen them get uncomfortably crowded is maybe weekend mornings.
Going on the Weekday mornings or the 5:30pm classes have always been great for me.

I am in love with this yoga studio! I got a groupon for 5 classes that has to be used in 2 months and have been here 3 times already. I enjoyed all the classes I've been to and love the space of the studio. The rooms are large and its clean (a no shoe zone once you enter the studio).
I really like all the instructors I have had so far. They are all very kind and would come over to correct me if I did anything wrong. I have been to the level 2/3 and 2 classes. They are both really good workout and also relaxing.
Definitely recommend this studio!
