Estes Valley was once a wild, lonely parkland known only to wandering tribes of Ute and Arapaho. When the Earl of Dunraven visited in 1872, he coveted this "sportsman's paradise" of rushing streams and peaceful meadows teeming with fish and game. He sought to keep the valley to himself as a private hunting preserve, but as more and more American settlers were drawn by its natural beauty, he realized that this dream could never be a reality.

Lindsay at the whiskey bar made our experience here. She was so knowledgeable and spent a lot of time chatting us up about our selections. Will come back just to see her. Save your money and eat dinner somewhere else but the bacon dates at the bar were delish.

Oh my. It was my extreme pleasure to partake in the offerings of this establishment. The Buffalo ribeye is simply one of the best steaks I have ever had the pleasure of trading. My family also had the trout and salmon with both winning rave reviews. The drinks perfect. The service was top notch. I simply can't wait to return to Estes Park simply to enjoy the cuisine here once again. You simply must enjoy this place once.

Over the years, I have visited the Stanley Hotel a handful of times, but have never stayed the night. For my sister's birthday, we decided to finally take the plunge and fork out some money to stay for a night.

The rooms do not come cheap. Almost $400 with taxes for a non-haunted room and $500 with taxes for a haunted room is pretty steep.

There was an incident in which the night before, our room and several others had some maintenance problems. I got a call from someone telling me that my room was no longer available and that they would need to move us somewhere not in the main building

The drinks and food were very good! It was a little pricey but I believe it was good for the location. The bottle of wine was 56$ and the hot chocolate was 3$. The food ranged from 14$-24$ and it was a limited selection since it was a bar area. We also went on the ghost tour which was alright but good for it's price of 28$ I believe. Definitely would love to stay at the hotel for the night!

Love visiting this restaurant! The cocktails are always fantastic. We like to take our final cocktail out to the hotel lobby to enjoy by the fireplace. This last visit, our server was very nice and accommodating. We had the cod sandwich and truffle fries, both were amazing!

Amazing fun was had by all at our Way Finder Cleaning Christmas party!! A huge thank you to the The Stanley Hotel and The Post Chicken & Beer - Estes Park for the incredible food and serivce. The Post Chicken … & Beer bar is a nicely run business. Their staff from the hosts/hostesses, wait staff to the head chief took excellent personal care of our event. The beautiful carriage house at the Stanley is a great space to hold a company party! The cherry on top the evening was having the team attend the Aiden Sinclair's Underground Magic show at the Underground at the Stanley Hotel!

Havent even slept yet and had not good experience yet sadly. Been looking forward to this for so long. We checked in then went and ate (ehh so so food, over priced but its "fancy" so expected). Went to the room to relax for an hour before our night tour, tv wouldnt work, they tried to fix it then moved us to another room that we have to do late… at like 10pm after our tour now yay and then the 2nd room doesnt have smoke detector with wires hanging down. Really???? $400 a night and have to change rooms later at night be rushed to our tour and no smoke detector.... is that even legal??? Been

It was fun. Was the interpretation on par with the way we did it in the national park? No.

The tour took you to several locations where spiritual activity have been experienced. It's NOT the hotel where the Stanley Kubrick version was filmed (yeah, I was bummed by that news too). It WAS the site where the Shining Mini-Series was filmed. If you want to watch the mini-series they provide a QR code where you can watch it.

Overall it was good to go with a group of friends.

The photos are mine of what we experienced. I didn't see anything when I initially took the shot. These only appeared

My wife and I ate at their Brunch & Co one morning. I had their biscuits and gravy and she had their omelette. Both were very good, but mine was a tad cold. The building is beautiful and really nice to see!

This place is amazing and beautiful.
We stayed in the presidential cottage.
There is 3 floors and numerous bathrooms and bedrooms. We watched the Shining and then did the ghost tour at 945pm. They tell you all about the history of the hotel and owners. Inside the hotel is like you walked back in time. From the elevator to the crown molding it screen 1900's.

It's historical and very interesting . The king suite is far from a suite- king bed and a window air conditioning unit . Did not have a refrigerator or any thing else . They did not clean room for a 3 night stay and had to go to the front desk to get towels .
It is in a Great location and the staff does try .
The Maze is pretty much full of dead shrubs which was a big disappointment. The pool has been shut down for years .
The Bar is beautiful and the coffee house was nice . Once again the staff was good

I love Halloween and scary movies so this was a must see place where the movie "The Shining" was inspired. I loved reading and looking at all the pictures from the movie. This hotel is very well maintained and all staff were extremely helpful.

Venue = superior
Wait staff = excellent
Food = sub par
Amazing copper ceiling and stone back bar.
Wait staff is wonderful!
Chef "lost" our dinner ticket. Yes, that means over one hour between placing order and receiving food. OK, that happens, we ALL make mistakes. Yet, food was barely OK - some foods arrived at room temp, some cold. Worst yet, it was all less than flavorful.
Burgers cost $22. Full entrées start at mid $30s. At this price one expects tasty food.
Wait staff tried to fix, no charge for food that was over an hour late. But as much as they tried, they simply could not overcome

"We landed on the moon!!" But seriously, I've been before and so my father stopped into CO so I wanted to show him something cool. We stopped into the bar and got drinks.

The bar staff are nice but, not sure what took me 15minutes to get a Moscow mule. Cool bar though and the drink was made well. My dad was digging the vibe and the movie history so I'm glad he had fun.

The outdoor patio area was a bit dead but I remember it being open more so, maybe it's just not the busy season yet? Not sure. Regardless my dad enjoyed it which is my biggest thing.

Can't attest

We had the Superior King suite that overlooked the gardens. Beautiful. One morning deer were just outside in the distance grazing. The bed was amazing. Like sleeping on a cloud. The bed was huge too. I never wanted to get up. It's beautiful up here. Lots of pretentious rich snobs so filter some of the reviews. This place is great. I was accommodated on the 2 instances I had a problem, and they were minor. The grounds are gorgeous.
