Smith Taekwondo Center opened its doors in 1985. Since that moment, Grandmaster Smith has been diligent and unwavering in his efforts to maintain a Taekwondo school known for its professionalism and adherence to the principles of Taekwondo. We do not sacrifice quality for quantity, and although we encourage competition, we know that winning isn't everything.

Classes are taught by Grandmaster Smith- who is a 7th Dan black belt- as well as other Kukkiwon certified black belt instructors. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that uses the hands, feet and body as a weapon, but that isn't all. Taekwondo teaches far more than kicking and punching, and it is about more than winning or losing. A good Taekwondo program can provide an enriching experience for all ages. This school is the best for both adults and children. The instructors put a lot of time into working with the kids and reinforcing confidence in them. There is something new everyday to learn while also getting a good work out. Each belt test is designed to ensure that the kids, and adults, feel the effort that they put in to earn their belt. It is a lot of work, but it it truly pushes you to the limit.

This is the best place to find traditional martial arts training while giving you real life self defense skills. Master Smith has more legitimate credentials and competitive experience than any other school on the island. Not to mention a great place for families to come together and train all under one roof.

I've been with Smith Taekwondo for several years now and there is nowhere else on the island that I would rather train. I am an instructor in the keiki Taekwondo class and it is the most incredible learning environment- such a blessing to see the keiki (and adults too!) grow and gain confidence! I love being part of this martial art and a black belt under Grandmaster Smith.

I highly recommend this martial arts school. The instructor is immensely knowledgeable with over 40 years of experience. He is also a former champion kick boxer and weapons expert. Most important he cares about the safety of his students and desires them to grow physically and mentally. It is a great way for families to spend time together while getting martial arts training. Way more fun than running.
