Yoga On Main
Yoga on Main offers Yoga classes; certification courses in Yoga and Ayurveda; continuing Yoga education, devotional chanting (Kirtans), Vedic studies, breath work, transformational and Shamanic workshops, wellness services and much more featuring a variety of acclaimed teachers and renowned special guests.

Our Inner Fire classes are designed to affect all aspects of the physical body and to activate the Chakras. The Chakras are the seven primary energy centers in the subtle body that when activated will become more open and aligned. Each class includes an intention (like honesty or contentment), a focus on the relationship between body and breath and an artful blend of movement and stillness.
Services
A private session is an opportunity to work with an instructor one-on-one to focus on personal wants, needs, issues, etc. During a private session a teacher will begin with questions and discussion to determine what the needs of the client are. This enables the teacher to provide instruction to assist the client in the direction they want to go in.
Welcome to the Yoga on Main Teacher Trainings and course offerings page. We are the oldest yoga studio in Philadelphia having offered teacher training courses for over 25 years. Our courses are steeped in tradition and deeply connected to the ancient practices that come from India. We offer certifications in 200 Hour Teacher Training courses and 300 Hour Teacher Training courses through the organization of The Yoga Alliance.

Been coming here for over eight years, and what keeps me coming back is their Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series class on Sunday morning (9:45 am, led by Jean Schaller). For years I did yoga at my gym (Future Fitness/AFC), but once I did a full primary series I was hooked. It's challenging, but my flexibility is so improved now it's incredible. I used to suffer from back and neck pain but the poses are so well-designed and therapeutic that I no longer have problems and overall have never felt better! They have many other great classes too, but for me Ashtanga is the best fit.

A great heavenly place! Shiva Das always starts a class with a lesson or talk on a certain topic and yoga is also very traditional.

Great experience at the beginners yoga class. One thing I would really suggest for the studio is for them to get hardwood floors. Carpet seems really high maintenance for a place where people are walking and sweating on the floors all day.

This yoga studio is outstanding. They are authentic and their roots are deep. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. I highly recommend this studio if you are truly interested in not just a workout but a deepening of the heart :)

This is a great studio. They have a lot of great teachers who know what they're doing. My favorite has been Kiki - she does a very challenging but rewarding class with a sense of humor! Their prices are pretty good too. I would have liked more evening classes instead of being stuck with just the one they have every evening. If you can't make it then you're out of luck. Other than that, great studio!

My first visit to YOM was a 90minute class with Shiva Das-- the man has a warm, welcoming presence and an endearing, yet challenging style of teaching that I thoroughly enjoyed!! The room is large and comfortable and the music was gently playing in the background

I live in SJ but will visit again when I can. Om

I've been going to YOM for just about a year now. It's hard to believe that it was the first yoga studio I had ever gone to. I was actually hesitant about going at all (I didn't think yoga was my thing) except my boyfriend had given me a gift certificate to the studio for Christmas so I was kinda roped into it.

Long story short, it turned out to be the best Christmas gift ever. The teachers are top-notch and the studio is relaxing and spacious (and carpeted which is really nice). I've since tried out another studio (I moved farther from YOM and wanted to check out something

Last winter I gave my girlfriend classes to Yoga On Main as a present (she had just moved to East Falls, and I was still living in Boston). She was somewhat less than thrilled, not having ever enjoyed a yoga class. But she started going, and discovered that she loved most of the classes they offer.

When I finally moved down here I started going too, and I have to say that Kiki's tuesday intermediate class is one of the best I've ever been to. Her voice and presence exude a sense of grounded-ness, and her class is just challenging enough to help keep your mind focused.

Yoga on Main has been in Manayunk for a long, long time, outlasting many of the restaurants and boutiques on Main St. I have been a long-time resident, but never went here until last week. I went on Tuesday night for the 7pm Intermediate Vinyasa Flow class.

(Side not about this class in particular- This is intermediate, so you will want to know the basics in Vinyasa and have been practicing for some time. I usually go to Power Yoga Works, which is Vinyasa-based flow. The classes at YoM had some different poses than PYW, but I had no problem keeping up, found a few poses challenging, but was not

I got the unlimited one month membership- it was half price this month ($54). I absolutely love all of the teachers, I've done around 10 classes and havent had a bad experience. I especially like the Tuesday night intermediate class with Kiki... shes awesome.

The only reason why I didnt give a 5 star review is the pricing. $15/class is a little steep. Usually I pay around $10 to $12 for a 90 minute class in the Philadelphia area.

I had never taken a yoga class in my life....
I decided to give it a go last Saturday morning with the Inner Fire class.

It was $14/class with my student id, you can just start classes whenever too. I patiently waited in the yoga room while the others came in and set up. Luckily another woman started talking to me since I was a newbie and she explained how it all worked etc. so I felt better after that. All in all it wasn't that confusing nor did I feel out of place or like I was doing everything wrong.

The class was 1 1/2 hours long and one of the most relaxing things I've done in
