Many people ask about the name "Cathexis" and what the word means. After all, it isn't part of our common lexicon, is it? Einstein's theory of gravitational waves, recently proven, states that all objects that contain mass also contain gravity. What this means then, is that any object with mass draws things toward it.
I think that is rather poetic. We believe that people have the natural inclination to heal themselves and that when given the correct support and environment, a person will move towards growth and development, much like flowers thrive when given sunlight and fertile soil. Telehealth Services are available for Pima County AHCCCS clients, and statewide for Self Pay and Blue Cross Blue Shield clients. Cathexis was created to provide Tucson families with access to highly skilled clinicians at reasonable fees. The owners, Tim and Susie Mills, have put great effort into creating an environment in which our clients feel safe, respected and valued as individuals. Special consideration was taken to remove the "hospital" feel from our offices. When new clients arrive for the first time, they are often confused to find no front office desk or a standard waiting room.
Cathexis is an outpatient mental health service provider, specializing in individual, couples/marriage, and family therapy. Our clinicians are highly trained in assisting clients with a variety of counseling services including addiction, anxiety and depression, behavioral issues, coping skills, eating disorders, grief and loss, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, parenting skills, and mood disorders to name a few.
The heart and soul of Cathexis is our remarkable clinical and administrative staff, and 2020 is the proof. It was a certainly a challenging year, but Team Cathexis pulled together once more and we made it through united, strong, and with a determination to support. Our amazing clinical and administrative team at Cathexis have pulled together these past few weeks to successfully move a majority of our practice to Telehealth Services.

I have been around Tucson for therapists and this place is amazing. If you guys have access it pays for it all. If not, they will work with you and are more affordable than anyone in town. It is worth your money. They will pair you with the right match and the therapist I got has been a godsend. The rooms are incresibly well decorated and they have coffee and cold water in well spaced out waiting rooms.
