Jewish Family & Children's Service
At Jewish Family & Children's Services (JFCS), we believe in healing the world with loving-kindness. Our specialized counseling offers hope and healing to people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, family conflicts, loss of a loved one, and other life issues. Person-centered therapy helps heal children and adults who have lived through traumatic events.

If you are enrolled in AHCCCS (Medicaid), you don't need a referral. Please contact us directly.
Services
Since 1941, we have helped individuals and families in crisis, children and adults who have experienced trauma, people with disabilities, frail and elderly adults, and neighbors without basic necessities. Our clients come from all age groups, economic backgrounds and all beliefs.

We aspire to have a community in which all families and individuals are empowered, self-sufficient, capable of overcoming challenges, contribute to the community and feel respected and valued. We are a non-profit agency that provides quality social and behavioral health services to the Jewish and greater Tucson community.
You can self-refer for counseling services! We accept all three of the AHCCCS health plans, as well as traditional Medicare. We also have a self-pay option for clients who are not eligible for state or federally funded insurance. You no longer need a referral from an outside agency to receive services at JFCS.
Our employees support the vision, mission, and values of our agency and they are integral to the support we provide to the greater Tucson community. We are small in numbers, but big in the contributions each of us make. JFCS is an equal opportunity employer. The Clinical Supervisor will provide guidance, support, and supervision to other clinical therapists.
Through this program, we can pay directly for the full or partial purchase of new durable home medical equipment (DME) for people with a demonstrated need for financial support. Documents needed: photo ID, proof of income, and a health insurance information card if you have one. Please note: We do not have equipment on site and we do not loan equipment through this program.
Our care managers provide compassionate and professional guidance when you are faced with difficult decisions. We explain options and help you and your loved ones plan for now and the future.

We can help you prioritize needs, develop care plans, set up needed services and referrals, manage multiple providers, and ensure that your plan works for you and your family when, for example, a family member is suddenly overwhelmed with tasks of daily living, a move to a new housing situation is imminent, family members can't agree on what is best for a loved one, and when acute medical experiences require intensive follow up.

I reached out to Jewish family & Children's Services after being referred to them,to ask for financial assistance. I was told to contact someone who had a few questions about what I needed(I'll be nice and not give out her name) She asked me how much I needed for one of my bills I was asking for assistance with, then she asked if I have a job,or receive the child tax credit. Then asked if I'm tied to any religion/faith and I said not at this time. I feel because I did not say I was Jewish she was unwilling to help. She then tells me "oh well we can't help at this time we don't have hot funding.

Amazing resources for families, I am so thankful for the services I have received here. As a former social worker, I had lost faith in a lot of agencies and this one has restored so much faith and hope🙏✨

It took me weeks of getting the run around from staff who kept changing the story on hours they were available, eligibility etc. and made some pretty in appropriate comments about not being of the Jewish faith. This place is really not conducive to mental health. It felt more like a shell game.

I have been trying for weeks to get anyone to call me back at this place and the staff I have spoken too have been rude. When I asked colleagues who work there about this they indicated that while they receive a lot of grant money to provide services the staff does not work a lot of hours and try not to take on new patients.

I gotta tell ya.
When it comes to Above and Beyond.
JFCS Tucson.
Transcends the above accolade on a galactic high level.
There is not enough Thanks, Appreciation and Gratitude throughout the known two trillion plus galaxies to express my love.
For several years now JFCS has come to my rescue on many occasions.
For myself, their staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with was always kind, considerate and very helpful.
They have actually secured a roof over my head and as well made sure there was food on my table.
They have always been there for me in some very troubling and stressful times

Mrs. Debbie is very nice and she goes the extra mile to help individuals in need. I greatly appreciate what she did in helping me to pay my rent and providimg me with a food card for food. Thankyou so much for your time and getting me by the month i was in a financial hardship.

I do not recommend this place, Mrs. Sharon has no ethics. She sided with one of the parents. They should have staff with ethics.

I was assigned to a counselor who displayed what I can only describe as a type of sociopathic behavior; An Australian woman with an obvious underlying temper and completely unempathetic which is disturbing given her career path. She liked talking about herself intermittently, and had a cold disconnected demeanor. She said some very off-beat and strange things such as where she worked before and how she didn't like it because it was too loud. I wanted Grief counseling as I had lost two people very close to me. Getting help is difficult when you're feeling vulnerable. I wanted to talk about the spiritual

If you are seeking therapy for yourself or a family member, I would look elsewhere. I needed to get an appointment for my daughter, so I left a message on their intake line first thing on a Monday morning (their message states that they will be in contact within 48 hours). By late Wednesday morning, I had not received a call back. I left another message on the intake line and sent an e-mail message to them via their website. By late Friday morning, no call or e-mail.
By this time, I am pretty upset. I called their main line and asked to speak to an administrator; I was quickly transferred to the
