In 2004, the owners purchased the building that had been leased and changed the name of the office to Southwest Louisiana Veterinary Clinic, AVMC. Services
One of the biggest advances of the years is how veterinarians deal with your pet's dental issues. Years ago, doctors simply cleaned your pet's healthy teeth and extracted any bad ones. Southwest Louisiana Veterinary Clinic has the equipment and procedures that enable us to preserve many of those teeth that previously had to be extracted.
In-clinic diagnostics are a vital part of care offered at Southwest Louisiana Veterinary Clinic. Our clinic has the most innovative blood chemistry and complete blood count analyzers available in veterinary medicine. Blood chemistry tests can tell our doctors what your pet cannot. Liver and kidney function can be evaluated for underlying diseases.
Do your pets go on vacation with the family? Often we leave without making proper plans for our pets. Southwest Louisiana Veterinary Clinic provides boarding that is supervised by veterinary technicians. Our trained caretakers insure your pets have the appropriate amount of food and water and exercise while you are away.
Southwest Louisiana Veterinary Clinic now offers Companion Laser Therapy. Laser therapy is a surgery-free, drug-free, noninvasive treatment to reduce pain, reduce inflammation and to speed healing. Laser therapy uses a beam of light to deeply penetrate tissue without damaging it. The laser light is delivered through a noninvasive hand piece to treat the affected area.
Each individual procedure will vary from pet to pet and condition to condition. As with humans, the older the individual the more precaution needs to be taken. Typically a physical examination, review of the patients' medical history and blood work are recommended with older patients. These precautions will make a procedure as safe as possible with a senior pet.

The ladies were wonderful with my dog. The waiting area is a little small but the wait time was short. I have a large dog and her size usually intimidates people but not here. The vet throughly explained the shots he gave her, her sensitive skin allergy, and the new anti-inflammatory pill for her arthritis. He even clipped her toe nails without her putting up a huge fight. I was amazed and impressed. And since she was having tedting done and shots and flea preventative, I wasnt charged an office visit. I will definitely be back.
