Started in 2007, Green Planet Catering is a locally owned and operated business that is unique not only to the Triangle area but the entire country. With a focus on Triple-bottom-line business tactics, Green Planet Catering has made a decision to lead the catering market in developing a business model that is devoted to creating sustainable solutions.

We share a passion for great food, impeccable service, and an awareness of the world in which we live. We take pride in farming our own produce and herbs, buying from local farms, using clean meats & fresh catch NC seafood, providing composting services, donating to food banks & worthy causes, and choosing eco-friendly goods whenever possible.

READ THIS: Due to NC Law, the HOST of an event (that's you, the client) is required to obtain a Limited Special Occasion Permit in order for anyone to enjoy spirituous liquor (anything other than beer and wine) at this event. Sounds like a headache right? Well, we can help you secure a day of special event permit.
All of our thyme, oregano, rosemary, & mint come from the "home garden". During the growing season we also keep several varieties of basil, lemon verbena, cilantro/coriander, and parsley. Additionally we grow several seasonal varieties of cut flowers including sunflower, zinnia, and nasturtium.

This year we added a bay tree for fresh bay leaves and we also have a mature fig tree that produces approximately 25lbs of figs during a season that we turn to jam.Owner & Farmer, Daniel Whittaker, checks on the health of cilantro that was still growing in December last year. Sunflowers provide a beautiful cut flower for displays but also as an attractor of pollinators.
