Not trying to sound like an ad-bite, but we've been real customers there for many (10) years. We would give them 4.5 stars if we could. They have a wide selection of quality jewelry in all price ranges, including custom work and repairs. They have stood behind every purchase we have ever made and have always treated us with professionalism, honesty and expertise. Their pricing is as good or better than any retail jewelers we have visited, and they're among the many reputable jewelers in the Doylestown area. I don't understand, and I am skeptical of the mediocre reviews I have read

Best and friendliest jewelers in the area. I highly
recommend them for any of your needs from
buying any of their magnificent jewelry, having
yours appraised or cleaned and they will even
replace a battery in your watch, even though
you did not buy the watch from them. There
are some jewelers who won't do that. Imagine???
They also will repair a precious piece of jewelry,
which they recently did for me.

They've set some loose stones for me in settings I've picked out of catalogs. They lost my business after it took a month to set a loose stone into a pendant, and I got it back with a setting that wasn't deep enough for the stone, and the bail was smaller than I ordered. You need to measure length, width, and depth. Some of the work they've done is fine, but that wasn't. That was a waste of money. I paid them, left, and took it elsewhere to be reset in a setting that fit the stone. They're also a little snobby if you prefer sterling silver to yellow gold, and

These people charge twice as much as anywhere else to set a stone or change a watch battery. And, they ask you to leave the watch with them for up to a week. Seriously, that should take five minutes, and cost less than $10, while you wait, assuming there are no other customers in the store at the time, which there almost never are. If they aren't buying their watch batteries at wholesale, they're doing it wrong.
For setting loose stones, sometimes they get it right, but other times, they present you with your stone set in a basket that isn't deep enough, and has a bail that is

My mother in law loves this place and has given Douglas Jewelers a ton of business over the past few years.
She bought me a 10 K white gold and Garnet pendant - and while it is lovely - i KNOW it was overpriced. She also convinced my husband to buy me a piece of Blue Topaz Jewelry here that was $800 and worth about 3. I made him return it.
They have lovely items - but for quality vs. value I prefer to shop at Caroll's jewelers. The "deals" at douglas are not deals at all.
