My husband and I stopped by today to get to go lunch after our daughters surgery. We have been years ago and enjoyed the food throughly but due to moving/covid we have not been. Let me preface by saying my husband is Lao/Thai and if he gives a Thai restaurant glowing reviews and continues to go back...they know what they are doing and the food that is served is authentic. We will never go back and unfortunately will never recommend it to others. My husband got the jungle curry and it was....a soup... a TON of broth... a few pieces of pork and a couple veggies. My husband took two bites and the

AMAZING! EVERY! SINGLE! TIME! Not sure how else to say it. Value; outstanding. Food; exquisite. Customer service: top notch! I get BBQ fried rice special meal set. Meat is always lean and flavorful AND..... this is something I wish all take outs did.... even though they package it in Styrofoam, they always wrap the food in foil so it stays HOT! Super highly recommended!

Zuzap has the best Thai food in the Des Moines area by far. I've been their customer for many years now, and they are consistently good.

Every dish is highly flavorful, and I love the fact that they make an effort to cook many dishes in vegan and vegetarian style upon request. Many other Asian restaurants still do not provide this service, or their vegetarian versions are super bland and boring. That is never the case with Zuzap.

Some of my favorite items here are the Tom Kha (Thai Coconut Soup), Panang Curry, Red Curry, Green Curry, Tom Yum Fried Rice, and Drunken Noodles.

My favorite place in Des Moines for Thai food!! I always get the yellow curry and it’s pretty much life. 😍 Their mango sticky rice is the best I’ve ever had…and order the taro pearls, I promise you won’t be sorry (eat them hot, though!)

First time trying this place. Everything we ordered was delicious. The best lettuce wraps I have ever tasted!! Tons of flavor and abundant serving. Also tried the red curry and it was spot on I had spice level 2 which was perfect for me. We also ordered Kou Kai. It was also very tasty for a more simple eater. The staff was extremely friendly on the phone and when I came to pick up order. Will definitely be going back to try other menu items.

Haven't had good Pad Thai since Saigon Cafe closed down. Until now. Zuzap's Pad Thai is superb! I don't think I want to try it anywhere else now. They will adjust the spiciness to your liking, it has the right amount of peanuts that are ground to a perfect size and doesn't overwhelm the dish. The noodles were cooked perfectly. So many flavors going on at the same time. Highly recommend!!

I've had Thai food in many places across the continent. The Summer Rolls here have been by far the best. Very fresh, great flavor and their sauces compliment nicely. The sweet basil fried rice is the best fried rice I've ever had. My family greatly enjoys the green curry. Be careful what spice level you ask for..... you may get it! 😉
Call early..... they get very busy. Currently no dine-in.

This place was so so good! Unfortunately we didn't get to sit down and eat it at the restaurant BUT it was worth the wait as they made it fresh for us. The flavors were so good! The coconut soup is amazing! And the Pad Thai was so delicious! Definitely recommend!!!

As of 6/12/21, they are still takeout only.

I ordered delivery a few months ago and the massaman curry was phenomenal (it's my go-to at Thai restaurants). I had it with the tofu, which was perfectly crispy. The portion was very generous and I ate it all-sooo good! Definitely a bit of a kick, but I couldn't stop eating it. My order didn't come with the chai I ordered, but that's on the delivery service, not the restaurant. Support local!!

Updating my review. This is now still during covid times.
No dine in, just pick up, take out, delivery.
I called in my order.
Easy chicken pad tai. She said see you in about 30 min.
This is a Tuesday right after they opened. I got there right when she told me to and waited about another 5 min or so.
There were 2 other people waiting on food as well.
I could hear them cooking in the back my tummy was a grumbling!
As soon as I had it I rushed out so I could go stuff my face.
I even started before I realized I had not taken my food photo yet.
So good. The 3 in spice was just the right

It's so good! We ordered from here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and were very happy with our meals! We had Kua Kai and Royal Noodles and would recommend both. We especially liked the steamed pot stickers!

First time at Zuzap! Ordered the shrimp wonton soup and chicken pad Thai. Spice level 3 was perfect, but I wouldn't say it's the #1. It didn't really have much flavor other than being spicy. I will probably try again and order something else next time just to get a better idea, but first impression was a little disappointing, given the great reviews!

Atmosphere: The inside isn't large, but looked nice and cozy, almost a hole in the wall type of feel.

Seating: Tables and chairs

Service: I went during Covid times, so I called for takeout as there is no dine-in at this time. It was an hour wait which was totally fine and expected on a Friday night. Good things are worth waiting for anyways! I paid at the counter. The girl was super nice, friendly, and wore a mask!

Food: DELICIOUS. I got takeout, and never expect the food to be perfectly warm when getting back from picking up takeout, but it was definitely still nice and warm when I got

Everything was DELICIOUS. Hit them up in on busy night so it took longer than estimated, but will give them a pass on that because well, Covid. We had a good sized group and everyone loved their food. Not sure you could go wrong with anything, but would highly recommend the green curry, Thai coconut soup, chicken praram, and the shrimp rangoons. We are looking forward to ordering again soon.

Amazing food! Although the location is too small to have in-person dining right now, I'm thrilled they have to go orders available. This has become a new favorite for us that we recently discovered. We order lunch to go every few weeks now and our go-to favorites are the pad Thai and Choo Chee curry, with the tom kha Kai soup! You can't go wrong with an appetizer (shrimp Rangoon is delicious), a soup, an entree and a drink of your choice all for $10.

Wow! Just ordered carry out and this is our new favorite Thai place. The pumpkin curry was especially tasty! The kids really enjoyed the taste and cool presentation of the animal fried rice.
We'll be ordering again for sure!

I called in a take out order on a Wednesday at noon. First call the line was busy. Second call I was put on hold for about 5 minutes, but then came on and took my order. I ordered pad se ew at a 3 spice level. They took my card number over the phone. They quoted 20-25 minutes for pick up. That worked well for me, other than I as hungry. I ran my groceries home and picked up a prescription before parking in their lot waiting for my food. They brought it right to my car, it's Covid season. I got it home, it was a nice portion in a styrafoam box, bt lined with tin foil. It was good and hot when

Absolutely delicious food. The place will be busy on weekdays, so get here early . The menu prices are extremely fair and reasonable. This should be on everyone's regular rotation of restaurants! The staff was very friendly and going above and beyond to make sure you had everything you needed, even during the peak of rush hour.

I gave three stars since I'm feeling generous because the waiter actually asked me what I thought of the Kaw Soi.
It had a lot of tough chicken breast meat that was cooked sometime in the distant past. The broth was "seasoned" with powdered chicken flavoring. I know it because my wife used to put that stuff in everything. The quantity of noodles was way too low and it was salty.
The spring rolls were boring and I don't know what syrupy garbage that was for dipping. They use those cheap wrappers that get all puffy when deep fried.
I'm still in the restaurant as I write

Kind of a hidden yummy spot! We had the lunch specials: main dish, soup, 1/2 size appetizers and drink. We both had hot and sour soup-- very spicy so I'll do a different soup next time. I had a crab Rangoon and he had 2 small pot stickers. All was fresh and tasty.
We both had pad Thai with beef. He loved his and I wasn't impressed. I added soy sauce and it was better. We had 2 on the spicy list--go a 3 if you want to taste any kick.
My Thai tea was good and pretty. The cream at the top was tasty.
A nice place for lunch with attentive help.

This place has been here for five years, but we just heard about it, so we thought we would go check it out. Service was good and decor was simple.
We ordered chicken lettuce wraps, beef pad Thai, green curry, and chicken sate. The flavor of the chicken lettuce wraps was pretty good, I was a little surprised it had water chestnuts, which I am not a fan of. The beef pad Thai was a little sweet, but ok otherwise. The green curry was very good, but should have ordered it a little spicier. The chicken sate was ok, but I didn't like the peanut sauce.
This place is easy to miss if you are not looking

The food here is delicious but the times I've been I am always frustrated by the service. The restaurant is not big and has a handful of booths, tables and 2 person booths. There's no sign to tell you to wait or be seated (wait) and there's usually only 1 server.
We were only given 2 waters for our party of three. It took us at least 10 minutes to order and one of our dishes was wrong. The server never brought silverware so I had to go up front, wait a few minutes and then get silverware. I felt bad for a couple near us because they were there well before us and didn't have

This is my new favorite spot. I had the pad thai with chicken spice level six and it was excellent. I also had the vegetarian spring rolls which were very good. They are crispy and not soggy or greasy. The restaurant itself is a quaint little shop that seats about 30. I just placed an order for pickup. They have free wifi just ask for the password.
