Taki has been serving fresh Sushi and Teppanyaki / Hibachi in Des Moines since 2002. We use only the highest quality sushi & hibachi ingredients, from the overnight delivered fish freshly caught in Hawaii to the highest grade Japanese rice grown in California. We know only the best will keep our guests happy and satisfied. With a local staff that is welcoming and knowledgeable, this restaurant is bustling at times, but always intimate and fun.

Great stir fry! Staff is very helpful and know what they are doing. They give great portions. Fish tanks and decor are very nice!

This place is doing so well that you have to have a reservation at 430 or you can’t eat there! My recommendation: go to businesses that want your business!

Taki is always a great date night. The place was pretty busy the night we went, however you can still get the hibachi grill delivery to your table. I got the steak and scallops hibachi it was on point in the wishes the steak was even cooked exactly as I requested. If you are going for sushi I highly recommend the nom#9 by far my favorite roll in Des Moines.

By far, my favorite sushi joint in IA.... and I used to live on the coast in Florida if that says anything. Go for the Yellowtail rolls, can never go back 😁 the grill is so much fun! Don't get a booth, get a grill seat, sit back and enjoy! You will not be left upset. Great staff and atmosphere! Will always be my go-to, nothing gets it done like Taki!

We had a LONG wait an hour before the chef finally made it to the table. Which wasn't good however the food was good. We had a large party so gratuity was automatically added which because of the extremely long wait shouldn't have been a requirement.

Their food is great and staff are friendly. Unfortunately when I dined there, half of what I tried to order wasn't available or out of stock. It's a nice atmosphere but the music was kinda too loud to have a conversation without yelling.

Let me just say the rice was everything ! So good. They use a certain butter to season it!
If you are looking for a more social distance spot, this is not it. They fill their tables up.
The veggie selection and portion was very small compared to surrounding hibachi restaurants.
I did not care for the yum yum sauce either.
Their drinks are good, pricing is decent and did I mention the rice?!
I got the shrimp and chicken hibachi with the show.

We had a great birthday celebration. Sometimes we are a little hesitant to come to Taki since the food can be a hit or miss but the food made by the chef, Nick, did a great job. Everything tasted perfect and the service was great!

We've come here two years in a row now on new year's day and it was great both times! This year we had a group of 13 and made reservations. We arrived a little early and were seated within a few minutes. They put on a great show, staff is super friendly, food was great and its something the kids remember and look forward to! See you next year!
