Scott D Conklin Funeral Home
After successfully completing all required course work and state and national examinations for licensure in 1995, Scott began serving the residents of Eastern Dutchess County, Litchfield County and beyond. He served his apprenticeship at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry and worked for Parmele Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie.

Scott's funeral service career however started in his home town of Dover Plains, serving as a Funeral Director with the Hufcut Funeral Home for over 18 years. The funeral home operates at 37 Park Avenue in the Village of Millerton, NY. We are here to assist families with all aspects of end of life care.
Services
The funeral home is an important part of any community. In addition to providing a variety of necessary services to the community such as burial services, cremation services, memorial services and celebrations of life, funeral homes also serve as resources for those grieving the loss of a loved one.
Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home was founded by Scott Conklin, a lifelong Eastern Dutchess County resident in 2012. For nearly 145 years the funeral business has remained steadfast at the intersection of Main Street and 37 Park Avenue in the Village of Millerton, NY.

Although the name of the funeral home has only changed twice in nearly 145 years, our commitment to being available to our local community members during their most difficult times will never change.Scott and his wife Robin and their staff of assistants are here to serve their community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Funeral Services Throughout history, burial has been a common practice in human communities, large and small; around the world. Learn more about burial, the burial services we offer, as well as the basic components of a traditional funeral service in this section of our website. Cremation Services Are you curious about the cremation process?
Obituaries act as quiet reminders of the finite nature of our lives. Yet, for those who have recently experienced the death of a family member or friend, an obituary means so much more. It is a bittersweet reminder of all we've lost, but it can also help us to remember all we enjoyed while they were alive.
G. K. Chesterton wrote, Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die. The men and women who served in the armed forces, whether during a time of war, or one of peace, are living examples of that contradiction. Each should be honored and remembered, so that our gratitude never fades.

Scott and his staff are total pros and made the whole process of burying our mother as easy as possible at such a difficult time so that basically all we had to do was mourn her. Highly recommended. Thanks Mr. Conklin

Mom died out of town and had to be shipped home for burial. The Scott D Conklin funeral home did a wonderful job and I can't say thank you enough! Everything was wonderful from the preparations to the funeral. Scout even found a bagpiper for the graveside service.
If you're faced with the sad occasion to need this sort of service, please consider this funeral home.
