Unless your vehicle requires premium gasoline, filling up your car with high-octane gas is a waste of money. The premium gas doesn't boost your gas mileage or performance. If you're not sure what grade works best for your vehicle, your owner's manual will tell you. You can also ask your mechanic what grade to use.

Great experience overall, very friendly and well versed in vehicle repair and upgrading. As I saw another customer come in (a regular) I even noticed them conversing as if they had known eachother forever. It was like a small town gas station conversation where everyone knows everyone personally instead of professionally. That alone had made me happy, but the service was just as excellent. I don't think I'll be taking my Maserati anywhere else after that.

My son called to get a quote for brakes and rotors. The lady on the phone told him he had to bring the car in for a quote. After they looked at the car they gave him an outrageous cost estimate and told him he owed $80 for the estimate. FOR AN ESTIMATE!!! This place is not honest and should be ashamed. Do not go there!!!!

I've been going to Classic for over 20 years. Over the years they have taken care of an old Jeep, a Toyota Land Cruiser, a Lexus and a VW Passat! The regular maintenance was always reliable. Major repairs from the initial diagnosis, to the estimate and the repair were accurate, consistent and effective! If you don't want to worry about integrity, professionalism, and knowledge base; this is the place to come for all your auto maintenance and repairs. From Austin to Renee, McKale and the shop mechanics you get the very best service!

My car started to overheat on my way back to Chicago. I ended up having my car towed to this place and leaving it here while I got a ride back to Chicago. I thought I would have them fix it and I'd pick it up in a few days.
Before I brought my car in I explained what was going on and the mechanic said he was very familiar with the problem and it is common on my year and make and it would probably be around $1100.
After my car was towed in their service tech (sales/customer service guy) called me. He sounded like a guy you would not want to piss off. He got my info and sent me an email

The Good: Got us right in for an oil change minutes after we arrived. Minimal up-sell aside from shocks but weren't too pushy.
The Bad: Took 75 minutes to do a conventional oil change which I've seen done on the same car in under 10 minutes (we were the only people getting service done). Charged $73.68 for conventional oiI change (at least 2x times any national chain).
I didn't expect the process to be smooth given I was a prime candidate to be taken advantage of, just know what to expect when you are from out of town.

I have driven Mercedes-Benz for over 35 years and when I moved to the Michiana area full time, I needed a good repair shop to keep my vehicles in great shape. Mikail Pinette, the founder and owner, and Brandon Pinette, his son, have been extremely conscientious and diligent of my cars that I have brought in. Normally I would go to the Dealer to have my car serviced, but Chicago or South Bend is a long way to go for servicing...but this shop is just as good. They are not cheap, though less expensive than the dealerships, and they are up to date with all the new technology and they definitely know

I used to bring my cars to Classic when it was with the prior owner, Don. In the last year or two there has been a change of ownership that has brought a new customer service strategy - screw the customer if you can. My wife has brought her range rover into Classic twice in the past six months. The first time after a number of repairs she was told that in addition she needed a new air filter and oil change even though both were done at the dealership two months prior. The last misgiving was when her battery was dead due to a plugged in appliance. The service truck came out, jumped the battery

I like this place, the owner and the people who work there. They are a specialty shop of sorts, concentrating on higher end cars and European cars. They aren't the cheapest around but anyone owning the kind of cars they work on should realize that sevice can be expensive. They have done good work, in a timely manner and at what I consider to be a reasonable rate. They are insured and bonded and I'm comfortable with leaving my nice rides in their capabable hands.
