We've come a long way from our beginning in San Luis Obispo, California, where Bill Ferrell opened Ferrell's Unocal in 1970 with his two sons, Mike and Ed, by his side. In 1990 Ed branched out and bought a service station in Atascadero (also Ferrell's Unocal), and by 1995 Ed moved the business to its present location and opened Ferrell's Auto Repair.
Ed started Ferrell's Auto Repair with two service bays. He soon expanded to four service bays and by 2011 he added a second building with a total of ten service bays! Ferrell's Auto Repair is dedicated to providing the best in automotive care to their customers, many of whom have been with Ed since the 1990's.

Ferrell’s is fantastic. My car almost didn’t get over the Cuesta Grade as I was towing my trailer. I luckily made it to Atascadero and found Ferrell’s after researching their reviews. Eric was fantastic and my 1999 Suburban is running like new. I had a multiple misfire code and many factors were causing multiple issues. Ferrell’s was outstanding. Their service is impeccable and pricing is very fair. I can’t thank them enough. Their multiple positive reviews are what brought me here. My car was on garage for about 2 years and would not start. I also wanted to drive it cross country to Maryland. Then I bought it to Ferrell's. They did a fantastic job and now I am safely in Maryland. Not a single problem. Eric at front desk was fantastic and it was pleasure doing business with them.

Critical: Professionalism
The man who runs the front desk (ERIC) is a VERY MISERABLE PERSON ! Went there for more than a few years and gave them more than a few new customers . Stopped going there because of this mans SARCASM and MISERABLE ATTITUDE . I recommend Mike Deans Automotive in Atascadero .

I read other reviews about Ferrels and one review said that they were charged under $50, but when I got there I was given an estimate for $59.95. All the previous places I've gotten Smog checks from in the past had charged me around $40. What do they need the extra $20 for? That's the last time I go to un-Ferrels for a Smog check!

I have been going to Ferrel's for years. Eric and Ed have always been honest and professional. They guys in the back are experts and do a great job. The prices are fair, they keep you posted on what you need to do next and leave you with a clean car when the work is done. I also love that they've moved to the front of the building so that we have a nice place to sit and wait.
